I thought I'd just update whoever cares to read this about what's new and what's coming for Elephant in the Living Room.

Today we started doing the official drum tracks for our practice EP, so to speak. We are recording a lot of our new material and spending a lot of time on it so we can get some of our new songs on the internet. We're also going to add some new instrumentation and get used to recording so we can be efficient when we go back into the studio.

This month we are working on getting new press kits ready to send our with new recordings. We are starting to get our act together with coordinating our shows for the summer (they will be out of town).

Keep listening and hopefully the lack of a show for over a month will result in a great turnout at Mojo's. Thanks.

(From the Akron Beacon Journal, 1-25-07, written by Malcolm Abram X)

Elephant in the Living Room

This foursome of youngsters has a long name and a mostly gentle sound.

Guitars jingle and jangle with unusual chords progressions and singer Robert Rossman's soft vocals.

We Speak, an 11-track CD, reveals that these young dudes are still figuring out their sound. Consequently, they are not quite ready for prime time, though they will be competing in the High School Rockoff Finals at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, which start at 3 p.m. Saturday. (Rock Hall, One Key Plaza, Cleveland. $12.)

Their not-too-loud indie rock sound is pleasant, and bassist Jon Rieke keeps things moving with a lot of good melodic bass lines under all the relatively fancy chords.

If these guys can keep it together, time and gigs should make them a better band, better songwriters and We Speak will serve as the quaint demo of their humble beginnings.

Hey everyone.

We are really looking forward to our show with The Lovely Feathers and The Changes on Monday, November 27th at The Beachland Tavern. If there is any way you could make it out, we would greatly appreciate it.

Our setlist will feature up to four new songs. We have decided to get rid of some tracks from We Speak: hopefully the new material will please you.

That being said, we are very determined to get our music out to as many people as possible in the upcoming months. Once we prepare enough of the new material, be prepared for an extensive schedule of shows. Hopefully we will be playing at a lot of college campuses around the area.

Stay tuned, because there are a lot of new things to come for Elephant in the Living Room.
