A message from Dublin Streets:

“We’ve decided that the 90’s are definitely the new 80’s. It was a decade that saw us wearing Eclipse & Xworx jeans, Adidas tearaway trackie bottoms, soverign rings and every piece of jewellery we could get our hands on from Elizabeth Duke in Argos, Puffa Jackets, Buffalo shoes, white slouchy socks, Scrunchies and quiffs and the Swan Shopping Centre in Rathmins was the shopping mecca. What’s not to love.

So next Thursday at Soundcheck, we will be recreating the magic from this era through the medium of music. Oh yes, for one night only, 90’s joy will reign supreme. We’ll be merging, definitely not mixing, KLF with Boy George, Prince with Snap, SL2 with Vanilla Ice and Technotronic with Salt n Peppa. Oh yes, we will rock you.

Feel free, in fact feel inspired, to come wearing your favourite 90’s attire.

And remember, Thursday night is definitely the new and better Saturday night.”

You want more? Fine, how about some free cakes, two-for-one cocktails all evening, and, oh, yeah, it’s FREE IN.

SoundCheck runs from 7pm to 11pm @ Spy on South William Street. It was jammers last week, so our advice is to get there early.

SoundCheck tomorrow (18th Sept) features a STELLAR line-up.

We've got legend Rick O'Shea - a blogger, radio ledgebag, DJ, and general awesome bloke.

Plus, we've got Dublin's premiere street style crazies - DUBLIN STREETS - who are swapping their snapping for the decks in order to channel fashion through music. Either that or just drop some Mariah. Altogether now "touch my body."

AND we've got Dark Room Notes, a goddam very exciting band who will be playing all there favourite tunes.

To round it off, we've got SoundCheck resident UnaRocks taking a break from presenting on Phantom this week to drop some of the newest indie fun songs.

Then, my Checker friends, the usuals; free in, amazing cocktails (two for one!), yummy cakes, good people and good times. I will see you, your mates and yer mas there.

So, head in, Spy on South William Street, 7pm-11pm.
