Its a new year peeps.  So Sid is in the lab makin' tunes and tending to life as we know it on planet earth.  Currently working on a vocal project with artist Pixieguts.  It will be available this year so stay tuned for more details.

I appologize for not keeping in good contact with some of you but I've been thrown under the bus with a few things.  No need to worry though... Sid is like a Timex watch... I just keep tickin'.

I wish all of you a wonderful and productive 2009!  For those of us who are struggling  with the economy try to keep your head up, pay off those credit cards and set some new goals.  We all have something within' us to give us the strength when we need it.  We just need to trust in our own power sometimes and not rely on others to give us permission to be more than the sum of our parts.  So with that said... "to master yourself is to be fearless."

Oct. 2, 2008... MPMF went well.  The trip to Cincy was cool and I managed to play 3 times while I was there.  I'd like to thank Justin and the Apple Store along with Chelsy, Ben and Sara from Midpoint Music Fest.  I'd also like to thank Apryl Reign, Da Mutts Chico Fellini, Diet Audio, Seedy Seeds the guy that sang that song about cats.  Everyone was cool and it was an honor to share the stage with the above mentioned artists.

Aug. 12, 08... Ok, its been along time since I've blogged but just droppin' a few tidbits of info.  Yours truly made it to the semi-finals for the IWMS (southeast) and the video is done just incase you didn't see it on my page.  For those in the Cincy area Sid will be spinning live at the Midpoint Music Festival. Check the page for dates and details.  Check out the other semi-finalists.

Jan. 2 08... Ok, its a new year and just updating on my blog incase you didn't catch it eslewhere on my page...  Lets see.. oh yeah I donated to Toys for Tots this year.  Thanks to everyone who bought my tunes... some of that went towards toy purchases for kids.

The fist music video is still in production... my man Ed in Chicago is working on that and you should all see it in mid Feb.  The new CD / album should be done about the same time.

This year DJ SID plans to make a few appearances so stay tuned for details... but I'm looking at Philly, Atlanta, Chicago, San Diego and Las Vegas.  Not sure if I will make them all or end up in completely diff places.. but where ever I go will be posted on the page.

I WISH YOU ALL A GREAT 2008!!!

Mari and Kaykay.. where did you go?

Dec. 30.07... So its been a few months since I updated this thing.  Playing in Denver was cool.  I met a few of the Arrested Development crew and saw them rehearse before opening at the Colorado Music Summit.  Met a few cool people while playing at Cervantes.  The Apple Store went off well.  They had a nice set up for me with the speakers and professional photographer on site.  Very cool!  Big thanks to the Apple Store team at Cherry Creek and Colorado Music Summit Team!

The first video is still in production... hoping to have it done in 08 along with
I Know Kung Fu which may be pushed back to March.  The video will be for the song Twilight Zizone.  Find REMIX EP on Amiestreet.com, CD Baby and iTunes!

Stay tuned people and have a great holiday season!

Sept.25 .07... Ok peeps its my b-day and I haven't updated this thing in a bit so I'm gonna drop a few tidbits.  Hyperfest was cool and I played in the ABQ.  Had a little bad luck with TSA and my turntable... just use your imagination.  However everything went well despite the small drama.  The first video began production this month and I'm hoping to have it done by December.

Production on my REMIX EP is almost done and will be featured on Last.fm by end of Oct. and I Know Kung Fu should be done by Feb. 08 and available on CdBaby, iTunes and few other spots...

The day job has pretty much destroyed most travel plans to play at other places this summer but maybe there will be some appearances in the fall.

May 20... Stay tuned...  =)

Apr. 07... Things continue to go well and this month I've been featured at www.liveaudiomag.com and www.catsask.com thanks to Sonicbids.com,  Cats Ask gave me 5/5 so thats a great way to start off April!  CdBaby also hooked up Snocap this month and its cool to have the store front on Myspace! Again, I thank everyone for their support, downloads, comments and listens!  Soon I will be on my way to New Mexico for the Hyperactive Music Festival.... I'll soon let you know what I'll be armed with for this mission.  Stay tuned!

Mar. 8.07... Another good month with iTunes and CdBaby.  I'd like to thank Cameron Mizell for pointing the way!  In May I will be performing for the first time in years at the Hyperactive Music Festival in Abq., New Mexico!  This was done through Sonicbids.  So, wish me luck and if you're in New Mexico come out and hear me spin.  Time slot TBA!

Feb. 1.07... I released two albums this year, Twilight Zizone and ButtaFly Tunez.  Cd Baby got them out and iTunes was quick to get them up and running.  With the technology one can be known allover the world big or small. So its time for independent artists to look within' themselves to share their art with the world without waiting for a label to do it for you.  If I can get downloaded on Verizon you can too.  Anyway, I hope to get published reviews this year, so wish me luck and please tell a friend about my music if you enjoy it.  I thank you all for the adds, comments, downloads and moral support!

Jan.8.07...another good month on iTunes and eMusic!  Thanks to CD Baby and I thank all who have downloaded my sounds!  New albums will be available this month and copies have been sent to several college stations across the U.S. and Canada!  Stay tuned...

Dec.1.06... a jump in downloads this month on iTunes, so things are progressing.  Again, I credit CD Baby and the artists there I have been networking with and thanks to those that have downloaded my tunes and iMixes.

Check them out at www.cdbaby.com and www.cdbaby.net

"Peace and funky azz beatz"

Since I have released music through CD Baby I have sold music in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.  My music is available digitally for anyone in the world to hear and download.  For those independents and underground artists who have a talent and quality music, CD Baby can be a great outlet to get your music heard and distributed to such online outlets as iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, Mp3tunes, Walmart, and Sony Connect.

Down tempo and lounge beat minimalism is not what someone usually expects from a Miami DJ, but DJ Sid surprises us with ambient sound clips and low fi jazz chording over solid beats that shows reservation and taste. Buttafly Tunez is a mix compilation of previous releases, and it could be the soundtrack to many things, but unfortunately as it stands as a body of work, the music's fault lies in that of most DJ output; bound to repetitive beats and lack of tempo changes. The same mellowness that makes this music work in the background keeps it there, but if it is the soundtrack to your cocktail party no one would complain, as it never strays from the laid back and lounged out feel.

3/5 Stars

ButtaFly Tunez album review from Groundlift Magazine http://www.groundliftmag.com/glblog/glblog.html

Nowadays, when anyone mentions the Miami music scene we automatically conjure up images of WMC techno parties, Trick Daddy with his 'dro in the wind, 2 Live Crew booty shots, and Craze wrecking the wheels of steel. So to say the least, it was a welcome surprise to receive DJ Sid's recent album, Buttafly Tunez. An all-instrumental, self-produced affair, Buttafly Tunez is more reminiscent of a dubby, Funky Porcini or DJ Cam outing than anything you'd expect from Miami. Tracks like "Jazz Me" and "Lt. Uhura" feature insanely large drums with complex programming to match. "Her Name Was Sparrow" and "Your Eyez" emit a mellow, heartfelt vibe, while "First Contact" sounds like a soundtrack to tumbling forward in space. Towards the end of the disc, Sid ventures into soulful and downtempo house territory, upping the tempo but keeping the chilled vibe on lock. I personally have an affinity for jazzed out, spacey instrumentals, so each of the album's 19 tracks went down like water. But even for the uninitiated, DJ Sid offers enough sonic variations to keep even the most ADD afflicted individual's head bobbing.

In July of 2006 I dropped a box of full length CDs/albums in the mail for the troops.  We all may have mixed feelings and conspiracy theories surrounding the war and the government but the troops could use a CD here and there right?

So for all you so called artists... check out www.opgratitude.com

Feb.1.07...  Sent another box of CDs to the troops.  Not as many as last time but I still did it.  I plan to send another box this year and also in 2008!  Some of you other artists should send them some of your creations.
