After taking sooooo long to put my myspace page together etc.

i put all details of how to get music to me, whether mp3's or hard copies.

A year plus later, people are still messaging me, on this myspace page, about    'I need to send you some heat, Where can I send it?'

Basically, read  the profile, the info is there for YOU.

Below is a convo with Charlie Sloth and someone in charge of programming at Channel U.
Charlie is an M.C. who doing his thing to get in to the game as an artist among other areas...
The below convo, makes me think 'What the Fuck Is The Point?' when you have companies who are getting rich off the music WE make and the trends WE set...Why d'you think a lot of the music sounds the same theses days? We either have to be Pimps/Hoes, Dealers or Thugs etc to get a look in these days. What happened to the regular guy/girl and the talented individuals? positive messages???

Now, from my standpoint, i used to think Channel U was necessary for up and coming artists, who are not on a label, and have a tune/video they want to share with the people...But i feel they seriously lack quality control, some of the video's/songs they rotate are seriously...well, thats another story for another time...
reading the below conversation, it seems their only purpose is to play one style/section of music, which makes them no better than the other channels...

THE CONVO:

I received the Email from Channel U saying they would not play the video as it does not appeal to The "Channel U" audience.....I thought Channel U was a hip hop station so I decided to ring them...
They told me this was a "Business" decision and nothing more. They then said that there core audience are between the age of 12-15 and they would not select the video because they can't relate to what is talked about and the names mentioned mean nowt to there viewers!!!!!! My argument to that was, this track was made to "educate" the youth about the roots of our scene, it was made to shine light on the pioneers of our scene hoping it would show the youth UK HIPHOP is a culture which was born before 2000/before the grime scene and has a history of 20 years plus!


They then said there is nothing I can do to change the decision. I went on to say how this video has a positive message and will help our new generation of artists progress! (This is why the states are 10 years ahead they respect and don't forget those who come before them!)


I then went on to say that channel U will play tracks promoting violence and gun culture but not a track promoting UK Hip hop history!?!
They said they dont play any music promoting gun culture... as they said this a track was playing on the channel called "pay attention" were the the 1st verse starts with..."You will get sprayed with my weapon by 2 guys with 2.2's (gun)........you will get filled up with 24 shots" followed by "throw u on the floor with my strap in ur face, leave u with one eye like big brother"
If this ain't promoting gun culture what is????? I said this to them and the phone went quiet........ So I said how do i tell all these great people who have created this scene, Channel U will not play the track as they feel it is not relevant to the youth of today, the reply was... "this is a business and we must treat it like one"!
I said I very much understand it is a business but you wouldn't be in the position to run this channel if it was not for the folk mentioned on this record. I went on to explain that our scene would not have progressed if it was not for these people and we would probably be 20 years behind the yanks and not 10!
As I was saying this yet ANOTHER video came on glamorizing gun culture, I said this is the 2nd video promoting guns in 10 minutes!! Again the phone went silent!!!!


I asked if there is anything at all that can be done to get this video played they said NO!
The convo ended!


Soooo last night I spent 10 hours watching Channel U... I did not see ONE video with a positive message! I discovered that 8 out of 10 videos promote violence/gun culture on the channel which is a disgrace!!!! Being a young father this really does scare me..the message this sent to me was make tracks about violence, drugs and guns and we will play your video! Try and be positive and educate the youth and you have NO CHANCE!


So are the owners of the station really trying to promote a positive message... watch the channel for 10 minutes and you will find your answer!!!!!!!!!!!


This a very sad day for REAL UK HIP HOP!

please forward this to everyone with a brain you know...we gotta take control back of OUR music and OUR culture.

Alright you guys, this here's the show that HAD to happen, as we lost yet another legend of our musical family...

It was hard work to gather all these records in such a short time...we got what we could, as well as the hip hop records that used this mans great music.

I thought from the response myself and ted got while doin this show live, i thought i'd make it easy for the people who missed this legendary 2 hours of hip hop radio!!!! FULL KUDOS MUVVAH  LUVVAHS
