South Carolina’s THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD have launched
the lead track from their new album “Skepsis,” titled “The
Manifest,” on their newly redesigned MySpace page (www.myspace.com/tteotd). The
self-produced “Skepsis” hits the streets on February 2, 2010, and is the first
TTEOTD release to feature new vocalist Danny Rodriguez, drummer Mike Ranne and
guitarist Chris "Hank" Henckel. The album was recorded at
Geller Cellar Studios in New York and mastered by Alan Douches at West West
Side (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall), and like previous TTEOTD releases, it features
cover art by Paul Romano (Mastodon, Trivium).
.. ..
Guitarist Justin Longshore commented on the new release:
"Our new record 'Skepsis' finally captures the sound we've always
envisioned. We really wanted to raise the bar with this one but also keep the
consistency that Through The Eyes Of The Dead is known for. Overall, everyone
has become better at their instruments and it really shows on the record. I
have no doubt in my mind that new and old fans of the band will be pleased when
they hear it!"
.. ..
The track listing is as follows:
1 Parasite Throne
2 Dementia
3 No Haven
4 Perpetual Defilement
5 Inherit Obscurity
6 The Manifest
7 Defaced Reality
8 Siphonaptera From Within
9 Insomnium
10 Skepsis
.. ..
Since signing with Prosthetic
in 2005, TTEOTD has SoundScanned nearly 60,000 copies and toured with a who's
who of heavy music, perhaps most notably as part of the now-legendary 2006
Sounds of the Underground tour that featured a stacked lineup of metal gods In
Flames, Trivium, Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, The Black Dahlia Murder, As I
Lay Dying and more. The band just wrapped up a North American tour supporting
Despised Icon and will be on the road throughout 2010, beginning with a
February tour that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Phoenix, Arizona’s LANDMINE MARATHON have announced the title and other details of their forthcoming release on Prosthetic Records. The album is entitled, “Sovereign Descent ,” and was recorded at guitarist Ryan Butler’s Arcane Digital Recording Studios, where he’s recorded past efforts from the band, as well as Misery Index, Phobia, The Funeral Pyre and many more. The album will be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Converge, Hatebreed, Dillinger Escape Plan). The cover art is being handled by acclaimed artist Dan Seagrave who’s done covers for acts such as Entombed, Dismember, Morbid Angel, Suffocation and many many more. “Sovereign Descent” will see a release in early 2010. The band documented the recording sessions via video blogs which can be seen at this site, http://landminemarathon.blogspot.com/
The band commented, “We are really excited to be able to announce some more details about our next album, including the title, “Sovereign Descent.” We have put a lot of hard work into writing and recording this album. We all agree that it is some of Landmine's strongest material so far, both musically and lyrically. Ryan really went above and beyond with the recording and mixing process. Having the opportunity to work with two people who we feel are legends; Dan Seagrave and Alan Douches is a huge honor. We look forward to sharing some of the final results soon and even more so playing these songs live on the road! “
Landmine Marathon, whose sound has been compared to early Earache acts such as Bolt Thrower, Carcass, and Napalm Death, released two full lengths on Level Plane, “Wounded” and “Rusted Eyes Awake,” the latter which was reissued this year by Prosthetic Records and several split releases. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Tragedy, Kylesa, Saviours, Book of Black Earth, Coliseum and many more.

Pre-order packages for "Breathing The Fire" are now available on Prosthetic Records' webstore. There are four package options for both the vinyl and CD version of the album. PICK ONE UP NOW!
"Crushed Beyond Dust", the lead track from SKELETONWITCH's highly anticipated new album, "Breathing The Fire", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. Commented vocalist Chance Garnette:
"This song is simply about killing someone with nothing but your bare
hands! Plus I was stoked I could find a home for the word 'quashed.'" The cover artwork for "Breathing the Fire" can be viewed below. The cover was designed by Andrei Bouzikov, who has previously worked with MUNICIPAL WASTE and many others. Commented guitarist Scott Hedrick:
"The art really sums up the new album and what drew me to heavy metal
in the first place: it's brutal, evil, and in a sadistic way, it's
f#$king fun! 'Breathing the Fire' is meaner, faster, and far more sickening than 'Beyond the Permafrost',
and the art reflects that. We went for the jugular, and so does
Andrei's art. He did an amazing job. It's f#$king killer when the
artist and band share a similar approach: organic. Blood and sweat, ink
and paint, tubes in amps, and non-triggered drums. A set of balls. Not
gym shorts, sterile computer generated art, effects pedals and redundant arpeggios." SKELETONWITCH began recording "Breathing The Fire" on June 14 with producer Jack Endino ( NIRVANA, HIGH ON FIRE, TOXIC HOLOCAUST). The CD is being tracked in Seattle at both Studio Litho (owned by PEARL JAM guitarist Stone Gossard) and Endino's own Soundhouse Recording. An October 13 release via Prosthetic Records is expected. SKELETONWITCH will team up with CHILDREN OF BODOM for a North American tour in the fall. Also appearing on the bill is THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. Throughout the first few months of 2009, SKELETONWITCH has continued to tour extensively in support of its latest album, "Beyond The Permafrost". In recent weeks, the group delivered a show-stealing performance at the inaugural Scion Rock Fest, played multiple South By Southwest ( SXSW) showcases with labelmates KYLESA and crossed the country with AMON AMARTH. Since signing with Prosthetic in 2007, SKELETONWITCH has performed more than 300 concerts and toured with a who's who of heavy metal, including DANZIG, DIMMU BORGIR, MUNICIPAL WASTE, NACHTMYSTIUM, JOB FOR A COWBOY, DARKEST HOUR, CEPHALIC CARNAGE and many more.

....................
Prosthetic Records’ has signed
Seattle’s Trap Them. The band’s sound combines elements of old school Swedish
death metal, punk, and d-beat and takes influence from bands such as Entombed,
Black Flag, Nasum and Tragedy. Trap Them has
spent time on the road with Napalm Death, Disfear, Skeletonwitch, Victims,
Rotten Sound, Toxic Holocaust, and Coliseum, amongst others and has appeared at
Maryland Death Fest & New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. (In fact, Mark
“Barney” Greenway of Napalm Death was quoted as saying, “Trap Them restored my
faith in extreme music.”) Before entering the studio to record their Prosthetic
debut, due in the first half of 2010, the band will be releasing an EP through
Southern Lord Records.....
....
The band commented, “After a few
months of very positive talks, we are proud to announce we have signed with
Prosthetic Records. This is a step forward for the band and a move that opens
up a lot of doors that we have not yet explored in the last three years of
distortion. Prosthetic has been supportive of Trap Them's modus operandi for
quite some time, just as we have a great respect for the high standards in
which their label is run.....
....
We would like to thank Tre, Jake and
all the rest of the Deathwish Inc. family for working so hard the last few
years, releasing our records and helping us stay on the road as much as we
possibly could. We felt honored to have them invest as much time in this band
as they did and we greatly appreciate the efforts they made to treat us as a
band they believed in.....
....
This is the first step in the next
progression of Trap Them and we extremely excited that it involves Prosthetic.
We've built this beast on depression, desperation and blasphemy and there is
literally no ending point in our sights. We function by the expression,
"Go heavy or go home,” be it how we write our music, how we approach our
tours, or how we live our lives. The days won't stop and we're ready to rage.
See you all soon.”....
....
Trap Them has released several seven
inches and EPs and two full lengths, the latest being “Seizures in Barren
Praise,” on Deathwish Inc. which made Decibel and Terrorizer’s year end top 40
list, in 2008.
