No More Heroes is proud to bring a July full of great music to the Amphi Theatre at Brunel Rooms:
July 7th: Rob the Mod and Asas Indie Disco
No band, but by no means does this mean its gonna be a quiet one.
July 14th: iLIKETRAINS (www.myspace.com/iliketrains)
'Frankly genius is an understatement'. NME
Very excited to get these in, they have just released a mini album Progress Reform which has been highly credited and was given 9 out 10 on Drownedinsound.com (anybody whos been on the site will know this is no easy feat). iLIKETRAINS are epic think Sigur Ros with Ian Curtis singing and you have a small idea. See these before they reach the heights they are surely to reach and realize why NME say theyre one of the bands you have to see this summer!
July 21st: The Wombats (www.myspace.com/thewombatsuk)
Their honest, English pop is a joy to behold Gigwise
Sparkling indie pop at its finest. Liverpools Wombats are already making success for themselves in China. But it wont be long till theyve taken of their home Isle. Jangly guitars, addictive melodies and hooks thatll have you pining.
July 28th: Captain (www.myspace.com/captaintheband) with The Long Weekend (www.myspace.com/longweekend)
I love Captain. Frontline is just a beautifully constructed romantic pop song that soars out of the speakers Zane Lowe
What a way to end the month, Captain are a special band that make shimmering epic indie pop that dances with the stars. Signed to EMI and with two top 40 singles to their name Captain stop off at the Amphi while playing all the main festivals.
The Long Weekend provides support with swirling psychedelic driving tunes with swagger.
As well as all this great live music Rob The Mod and Asa will be playing each night out with the best tunes in for you to merrily dance (or whatever you call your dancefloor action)
Doors open 9.30 and close 2am(ish)
Admission is 4 before 10.30- 5 after
And selected drinks are merely 50p. Good bands, good music, cheap drinks and good people what more can you want?
