As of now – Friday, December 4th will be our closing performance for 2009.  It seems very appropriate to share the stage with cellist - Trina Nadeau.  Together this last year, we have roamed the landscape of  Southern Ontario and planted ourselves on several stages.  This will be our finale to a prosperous year of performing.  All of the show details are posted at: www.myspace.com/michaelgabriel

Trina and I played last night @ ‘La Casa Ristorante’.  This is a very cozy room where we have been performing regularly for the last few months.  We have been booked for another show on Jan. 14.

I have been officially invited to the ‘Vineyard Film Festival’ in
Cyprus to perform.  The event will be held over the course of three days in March.  New films from different parts of the world will be showcased and performers from different parts of the globe will be present to share music.  For more information visit: www.myspace.com/vfmfestival

During a performance in
London recently, an artist by the name of Sagan Yee drew an animation version of me.  It ended up being part of the title page @ www.michaelgabrielmusic.com.  More additions to the site will be made in December.

Again, the last two recordings are available online and at all performances.  Online store listings are @ http://www.michaelgabrielmusic.com/store3.html.

(The listings for '..Southern California.. Sessions' also apply to 'In This Together'.)

Be well –

Well,
Edmonton was awesome! A big thank-you goes out to all who were a part of those shows.  The London, Ontario performances continue to be inspiring and well received.
November is proving to be a month of diverse performances in Ontario with shows in London, to a poetry book launch event in Hamilton.  For all show dates and details – please visit www.myspace.com/michaelgabriel

The 2 latest recordings are now both available in a CD format.  Plus, ‘In Together’ will also be available online by
December 12, 2009.

Once again, private bookings continue to be requested online and at shows.  For those of you interested in having me perform for a function (House Concert, Wedding Reception, Release Party) or perhaps having an ensemble with any combination of cello, piano, and drums – contact me directly through
mgabrielmusic@yahoo.com

If there has to be a predominant theme in these newsletters – it would be my absolute gratitude for the ability to continue on this path.  I am certain that I do not know where it will lead but it somehow continues to grow and for this I am grateful.

I love writing songs and performing them.  There are many details and pieces of business that have to be dealt with in order for me to continue but it is all worth it.  Even when the obstacles seem unmovable and the momentum has seemingly come to a halt – it usually finds movement to face challenge and move forward.  Many times, the impetus is encouraged through the people I meet from the shows I perform.

It means so much to me for these songs to connect with you.  For all your comments, your attendance, your thumbs up, and every other positive response you have taken the time to do – Please know that no gesture has been unfelt.

Always take good care of your soul -

Michael

The focus continues to be on live performances.  Our debut ensemble show for Kitchener was on September 11, 2009 @ The Hub in the Howard Johnson hotel.  I was joined by Trina Nadeau on cello and Sandy Sebastian on piano.  The venue is a great fit for our style.  I want to thank everyone who was part of the evening.  All future event details are posted at www.myspace.com/michaelgabriel.

I will keep playing solo shows in Southern Ontario where new material is being showcased and songs from CD’s are performed.

As an ensemble, opportunities are coming up to perform for special events such as weddings and house concerts.  If any of you are interested in knowing more about these types of concerts – you can contact me directly.

World Vision presentations are being booked for September and October.

The experience to bring these songs to you all is a privilege I have immense gratitude for.  As I’ve come to understand – where the path might lead and the direction it takes is an energy worthy of trust and surrender.  The contribution is to simply continue on the path that is felt to be one of truth.

Take care on the journey you live -

Well, the theme for the last couple of months has been performances and rehearsals.  I should also mention that another big part of my life is
Gary. For those of you who do not know – Gary is a van/camper that I have come to know well and have a deep appreciation for.  He has been extremely reliable and comfortable.  Yes, the relationship is series.

Many of you have seen the solo shows and some have attended when the cellist has joined me.  On August 29 and/or September 11 – you are welcome to come to hear us play as a 3-piece: vocals, guitar, cello and piano.  More ensemble dates are in the midst of being booked for September and October.  The myspace site will always have the latest bookings posted.

The
Southern Ontario circuit of solo shows that I have been on continues throughout August and September.  Part of those performances has been World Vision events where awareness about some of the issues people in developing countries are dealing with is raised.

I have officially begun working with James Walker @ Road Dog Music Group.  Shows have already been booked through James and new gigs are being scheduled.  He continues to be very supportive of this music.

Enjoy this life –

Michael
