Unfortunately, we've decided that we have to pull out of the Windmill gig tomorrow - Huw is unwell, and we don't think we can do this one without him. Sorry!

More dates in March/April, we hope.

Against Entitlement will be released on 19th October, on Little Red Rabbit records (LRR014). It will be distributed by Forte. It will come as an LP, on 180g vinyl, and will include a free CD version of the album. Or, if you prefer, it comes as a CD, and will include a free 180g vinyl record, and some extra bits of paper and artwork. Either way, the shop price will be £12.

It will also be available as a download.

A limted number of CD-only copies will be available directly from us, for people who don't want the lovely vinyl, and the extra bits of paper, and the lovely sleeve, not even for free, thank you [what's wrong with you?].

There are 9 songs on the record:

Stone beats this
Etymologist's lament
Spon
Hard work of simple things
Been black-eyed
Canon
Night of the steep learning curve
Puppies
I am the police

We expect to be in London a couple of times (like, you know to play, and not just to gawp at the haircuts). Hopefully April 17th for Silver Rocket, and a little later for Damnably.

And in the meantime, the song 'Sniper,' from 'Death to Technicians!' will be appearing on a Let's Go Baboon compilation (http://www.myspace.com/stubaboon) to celebrate their 5th birthday.

Fuck off winter, fuck off winter, wiiiint-eeerrr fuck off (sing along if you know the words), fuck off winter, fuck off winter, wiiiint-eeerrr fuck off ...

Searching on YouTube for 'Lazarus Clamp'  will currently locate you three [very badly framed] clips from our Wilmington Arms gig:

Been Black Eyed
Ricochets / Spon
Your Song

The sound quality isn't bad, and on two of these, you can actually see some of us, some of the time.

Thanks to George for posting them, and to Rupe for manfully fighting the forces of inebriation in order to [sort of] film them. He's an artist, you know.

Two of those songs [Spon, Been Black Eyed] are forthcoming on the Little Red Rabbit Records LP, 'Against Entitlement.'

Currently, release date for this looks like being October 2009.

Well, thanks to the extraordinary organisational capacity of Mr George Gargan; the goodwill and great effort of Calvin Party, MJ Hibbett, and Former Utopia; the fine musical choices of Rachel and Andy Silverrocket ("letters and soda ... "); the attention to detail paid by our rather glamorous soundlady, and the enthusiasm of everyone who turned up, we had a lovely time at our slightly bonkers "Double Gig" in London the other week.

Here in the Clamp camp (see what I did there?), everyone seems a tad rejuvenated after that. Just like after the singing tree comes up, in The Beeps (what do you mean you don"t know what The Beeps is?).

We"re digging in for Christmas now, but in the new year we hope to be playing Silver Rocket in the Spring, releasing Against Entitlement, and recording a bunch of new songs that are more or less written (but not in the least bit learned).

Til then ...
