Current mood:  thankful

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the ones you love.  Of course, I ate too much on Thanksgiving! And I am still trying days later to finish off the green beans, dressing, and turkey, enjoying every bite!  Thanksgiving dinner at Mom and Dad's and Hubby's family over Saturday.  I love my family! We are very close and I love that!  I shutter to think sometimes who I might have been if it weren't for the strong and loving family with which I have been blessed.

I cannot believe that December is here again.  My momma always told me that the older I got the faster time would go.  She was so right.  That's why I hope to try to savor every moment of life, learn from mistakes, cherish my loved ones, and live a life that is worthy of the call that was put on my life by God.  I've discovered that life is too short to live just for myself.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are times of the year when we pause to give thanks for all we have, but my hope is that my life would be one long pause of an attitude of graditude.

I heard a message recently that, from experience, I agree with wholeheartedly - Living a life of graditude in everything gives us a healthy perspective on our lives and what we go through.  I have learned in my life that whatever I focus on, that is what seems to grow in my eyes.  If I lock in on the gloom of a situation, I eventually find that my thoughts only become consumed with the gloom. It soon begins to wear me thin.  But when I am thankful and focus on the good, positive, or what can be, my strength is renewed spiritually, mentally, and even physically.  It doesn't mean my situation always changes immediately, but I am certainly in a better place to deal with it, or even...let go of it.

So, the word to myself and to you is...live a life of thanks-living.  Set your eyes on the Mountain Mover instead of the mountain!

Make this Christmas a great and memorable one for those you love and for those less fortunate.  And PLEASE, always remember our military troops and their families!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
With God's love,
Amy Douglas

Current mood:  excited
Well, life is beginning a new chapter for me and my hubby again.  Our only child and my sidekick has started the big kindergarten!  She loves it, but I am still adjusting.

Isn't that the way of life...constant adjustment to changes in our lives?  Some changes are welcomed and some not, none the less, adjustment is part of it.  The good news that comforts me is to know that God is with us through it all.  His timing is PERFECTO, even when it certainly doesn't look that way!  His goal in us is not so much our happiness but holiness...an accurate reflection of Himself in us!

It's been a really fun summer spending time with my family before the new life changes kicked in.  I am looking forward to what God has in store for my family, my music ministry, and also for you all!

Amy Douglas About the Song  "Too Busy Livin"

Being a mom is the hardest, but most wonderful, thing I have ever experienced! Every child is a gift from God and my husband and I knew right away that raising our daughter Jayden would be a great adventure. She has been full of life and energy since the day she was born. I like to call her the "princess tomboy" as she, like most little girls do, loves to play babies, house, dress-up, and tea party, but when Daddy comes home she can hold her own in the living room/wrestling arena.

Being a mom has taught me so much about myself - the good, bad, and the ugly. It has helped me to become a better person. I do have my moments when I feel the work load is overwhelming and that I have no time to myself. But it doesn't take me long to remember that someday I won't have those little fingers under the door when I am trying to seek a few seconds of privacy, no more blankets draping the kitchen table for tent time, and many other things that seem trivial now but will mean the most one day. Many things will change.

Soon I will start her in kindergarten. I know the years will pass like seconds and then she will hopefully go to pursue her God-given dreams with success. But for now, my heart's desire is to truly cherish EVERY moment with my little one. She won't be little forever.

The new CD out by Amy Douglas, Heart of Courage, is a smooth flowing, easy listening CD that is filled with genuine emotion. I call it 'easy listening' because it is so easy to listen to. I say, 'genuine emotion' because as Amy sings you can actually feel the words penetrating your heart.

Amy's voice is soft, yet powerful. Her singing is polished, yet touching. Her song writing--amazing!  Read more HereMore
