Hi all, I thought that I would take this opportunity to actually nut out how the blog thing works. So far, so good? Just got back from playing some shows in Liverpool as part of the International Pop Overthrow Festival. What a great experience. Set around the infamous "Cavern Club" venue and stretching to the "Cavern Pub" and "Lennons" it was a showcase of great pop from all over the place: UK, US, Sweden, Finland and beyond - even Aus (i think I may have been the only one). Taking my pal Nathan Hale up to accompany me with his sweet harmonies and Melodica and shaker prowess, I can safely say that we did A-Ok! Met some other great artists (most notably the first cab off the rank the night I played, John Hoskinson who is fine singer/songwriter and native of LA) and audience members (Margi and Helen - you guys are the best!) and heard some very unashamadly 60s pop! Yes, the Beatles still live long in the sound of Jangly guitars and three-part harmonies. Unfortuntaley we had to head back before the end of the festival (just a quick thanks to the National Express whose estimated 4 hour coach ride took the sum total of 8 hours - its always a laugh when the passegners are directing the bus driver...!)

As I type now in anticipation of a wee trip away to Italy, I can rest safely in the knowledge that there are great pop bands still banging it out with pride in Liverpool. Ahhh - it warms my heart!
