BILL WASHER grew up in Rochester, N.Y. where he began studying guitar at the age of 13 with Donald Ames. After attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Bill worked in the Boston stage production of "Hair", and went on the road with tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson. In 1973 Bill moved to New York to play guitar with the Joffrey Ballet Company and began free-lance work recording on record albums, movies, jingles, etc. as well as live performances, both in New York and on the road. In 1982 his first record album, on which he composed and arranged all of the selections was released on the Japanese "Arista" label. Bill has recorded and/or performed with: Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Liza Minnelli, Stan Getz, Elvin Jones, Gato Barbieri, Ray Barreto, Teruo Nakamura, Barry Miles, Curtis Fuller, Manu Dubango, Bob Mintzer, Bernard Purdie, Jimmy Cliff, Richie Havens, Angie Bofill, Frank Sinatra, Michael Urbaniak, Marlena Shaw, Lenny White, Stanley Clarke, Ivan Lins, and others. He has done numerous Broadway shows including West Side Story, Grease, Bring Back Birdie, Leader of the Pack, Starlight Express, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dreamgirls, Bloodbrothers, 42nd Street, The Life, Footloose, The Lion King, Avenue Q, and is currently working with Liza Minnelli and singers/songwriters Ashford and Simpson. Bill also teaches Jazz Guitar at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
JON ALBRINK is a New York City based singer/songwriter. His two CDs of original songs have garnered praise for their "haunting melodies and arrangements"... "beautiful, soulful, intelligent music"..."perfect lyrics." Jon has collaborated on songs with Jeff Franzel, Nikki Gregoroff, Amanda Homi, Phil Galdston and Danielia Cotton, among others. He performs regularly as a solo artist and with Amanda Homi's "Drumgirl" band.
TOMAS DONCKER - legendary nyc producer/singer-songwriter/guitarist TOMAS DONCKER returns to the festival, this year he will be celebrating the release of his much anticipated "acoustic/soul" cd, "inside out". Tomas will perform with his quartet, (featuring camelia cabazard on vocals) as well as a few "special' guests.
Now in its 7th year, The Songwriter's Beat is New York's most popular acoustic songwriters series, curated / hosted by Valerie Ghent. The Songwriter's Beat features four songwriters of varying musical styles are encouraged to try out their newest material and arrangements.
The Songwriter's Beat is delighted to share in the 30th birthday celebration of the Cornelia Street Cafe!
Proceeds of the Festival will benefit the World Foundation for Music and Healing and its "Feel the Music!" program, which provides music and art education to children and families affected by trauma and loss, including families directly affected by September 11th.

Take the train to the West 4th Street stop.
Exit at West 3rd Street.
Walk one block north to 4th Street.
Make an acute left onto Cornelia Street.

Take the train to the Sheridan Square stop.
Walk 21/2 blocks east on West 4th Street.
Make a right onto Cornelia Street.
By Car
7th Avenue South to Bleecker, left on Bleecker, Cornelia Street is the second street on the left. We're in the middle of the block.
There is on the Street metered parking until 10pm. After 10pm it's free.
There are 2 parking garages in the neighborhood, one on Morton Street, accessible from 7th Avenue ( go past Bleecker Street to Morton Street). It's on the left. Another parking garage is on 3rd Street, East of 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas).

Tell the Driver to come down 7th Avenue, turn left on Bleecker and take the 2nd left (Cornelia Street), or, if you're coming up town and want to save a few pennies to drop you off on the corner of 6th Avenue and West 4th Street.
