Posted by Z-Man Now the right wing religious people would have you believe the founding fathers intended the US to be a Christain nation and they even claim they were Christain themselves and they even claim the US was founded on Christain principles. This is simply not true. Many were Deists which is to say they beleived in a higher power but not one who was actively involved or even cared about or with human affairs. This article goes in to great detail about the true beliefs of the founding faters. Pass it along to the people who would claim the U S was meant to be a Christain nation or that it was founded on Christain principles.

Now as most of you know I work at Wal-Mart and they have instituted a policy of making the stores less clutterd. It's been on the news and you may have noticed that the stroes look less clutterd which Im glad to see. Part of that new policy has involved the way some of us do our jobs. For example. Used to be when you'd come in at night to do your shopping you'd probably see shopping carts thorugh out the isles. as stakers used them to put boxes in aas they were staking the shelves in verious departments creating a little bit of a hazzard for shoppers. They have done away with this and you won't find shopping carts though out the isles anymore. This workds in most departments. However in the appoarel section it seems a new hazzard has been created. The woman who stock the apparel section used to put the boxes in shopping carts and put the carts in the area where they go. Now with no more shopping carts this has lead them to have to put the boxes on the floor leading to a tripping hazzard. they say having shopping carst in the isles is a hazzard to the customers and in most cases I agree. and without the carts in the isle the store looks better but isn't having boxes in the isles an equal hazzard especially in apparel where it seems to be the biggest problem? I think they need to come up with a better solution than boxes on the floor. Just seems like in a couple areas they createed one hazzard by eleminating another.

As most of you know I'm a big urban legend freak. someone passes me information that seems suspect I go check out out and send them a correction if needed. Now most people are happy that I've corrected them. Sometimes however you run in to a ding dong who takes offence that you would dare corect them. What follows is the email exchagne I had with one of these ding dongs yesterday. (email adresses removed to protect the stupid btw) His parts are in all caps (figures) and mine are written correctely. The exchange is in reverse order so you'll want to start from the bottom and read to the top. Enjoy the good laugh. The exchange begins with his response to me seding out a snopes link. Enjoy this one.
WOW SOMEONE'S NAP MUST HAVE BEEN INTERRUPTED TODAY. ALL THIS OVER AN > EMAIL...GEZZZ YOU HAVE WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS IF YOU CAN SNOPE > ALL YOUR EMAILS AND CORRECT EVERYONE'S ONLINE ETIQUETTE. DON'T BOTHER TO > REPLY,MOVED YOU AND YOUR BAD ATTITUDE TO SPAM...LIGHTEN UP GOOD GRIEF > IT'S ONLY AN EMAIL > If someone sends me false information I will correct it. Also it does > not take hours of sitting at your PC to find this out. It took me all > of one minute to find the factual information. And you act like being a > snopes detective is a bad thing. If you send out a mass email with > false information it will be corrected. Also, don’t type in all caps. > That’s just rude. If you have time to forward an email you have time > to check it out too see if it is true or not. It takes a matter of > seconds. Just forwarding things as you see them ads to the problem of > misinformation. Don’t tell me to delete things if I don’t like them. > By sending out an email you give the person the right to respond. If > you’re going to send false information you have to expect that someone > might correct you. It’s that simple. If you don’t want to be corrected > don’t send mass emails or check them out first. Takes a matter of > seconds. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > I PASS THEM AS I GET THEM. IF YOU DOUBT-THEN DELETE. I DON'T SIT AT MY > PC FOR HOURS AT A TIME BEING A SNOPES DETECTIVE. >

Well, As many of you alredy know, I was let go from the radio station on Friday. I was told budget cuts. So as I let everyone else know my blogging is moving back to myspace. I had been blogging on my radio staton blog sense Feburary when I moved my blog there. Now with the loss of my job I have moved it back to myspace. As many of you I'm sure know losing a job is never easy. Espeically when the bills don't go away. Now I kind of expected this as we had not been doing as much sports as we used to. Running NASCAR took up a big chunck of what I was doing over the last five years and with no more NASCAR and remotes being show with the bad economy I was told they just could not afford to keep a full time board op on the pay roll. The most aggirvating part is we wre just getting to where we could start paying on some medical bills. I should find another job soon. I'm not overly picky. A job is a job at this point and when you need the money to pay bills you can't be to picky about what you do.
I was at the radio station for fifteen years. I have no hard feelings. It was a business desison. I left on good terms and am glad they kept me on that long. Fifteen years is an eternity at one radio statoin. Luckily I have a second job to fall back on. I'm still at Wal Mart and am very thankful that I am still employed somewhere. We still need me to work two jobs though so I have to find something part time too. I'm filling our applications as we speak so hopefully I'll be back on a second job again. I don't think I'll work seventhy two hours a week. Did that for over a year and it was rough but you do what you have to. I have no hard feelings tward the radio station and want to thank my family and frineds for their support. Who knows, someday I may end up back in radio but for now I just need to find a job.
I will continue to blog once a week just as I was doing on my radio station blog and here on myspace before that. talk to you next time

Posted by Z MAN I was pleased to read the reports that Vermont may become the third state to allow same sex marriages. Nice to see more and more people becoming more open minded. It is time the rest of the country did the same. There is no logical reason why same sex marriage should not be allowed. The right wing conservatives will claim it will somehow destroy the fabric of the family. Yet there is no evidence that allowing same sex couples to marry will somehow degrade the institution of marriage. There is more and more evidence that homosexuality is completely natural. In fact it does exist in other species. Here's a list of other animals where homosexual behavior has been observed. I know the right wingers will just stick their fingers in their ears and go LA LA LA can't hear that. but the evidence is clear. The attraction some have to members of the same sex is natural. I know some even in my own family will say, "God does not approve of homosexuality it's in the bible." As I've said before, the bible was written a long time ago when man kind did not have the scientific knowlege he has now. Some may not like this but when it commes to science vs. the bible to me science wins out every time. Plus, as I've said before, you can't site the source as proof of itself. Now there are those who think the government should define marriage as between a man and woman. The problem with htis is that is the government endoursing religon. The seperation of church andd state clause of the consitution prevents the governemt from endorsing any religon. By defiing marriage as between a man and woman the govenment is endouseing christianity which it cannot constitutinoal do. The constitution should be used to gie rights not take them away. The people who want a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage are attempting to missuse the constitution by taking rights away. This should worry most people because if these people win on this issue what will the attack next that they don't like. Are the people who are against same sex marriage that concerened about what goes on in someone elses bedroom? What a bunch of bussy bodies. You're kids are not going to turn gay because Bruce and Phill or Sandy and Karan live next door. In fact most kids won't even find anything funny abut it until their homohobic parents plant he idea in their head. You cannot use religon as an exuse for homophobia. Ther is also no gay agenda. I hear this from the conservitive right all the time. They claim there is a gay agenda but when pressed for detials they can't seem to give any answers or examples. Most of there opposition to same sex marriage is almost laughable because it is full of nothing but baseless claims and just plain ingnorence. All Americna citizons deserve the same rightrs weather they be gay or straight. I'm amazed that in the twenty first century that this issue even needs to be debated.

Imagine you are 89 years old and you are in a nursing home with mostly strangers. Your kids, all ages 50-63, live as close as 4 miles and as far away as 500 miles away. You are living the last few months of your life with heart conditions and labored breathing. Your daugher of 500 miles away spends the most time with you with your other daughter who is having her own health conditions can no longer drive. You have 2 more kids, one lives 40 miles away but is much too busy to come see you. The other has a very nervouse spouse and assumes without scientific evidence that her husband is dying. But his 89 year old father needs him. He needs to not die alone. Who wants to die alone? No one should EVER die alone.

posted by Z-MAN Over the last couple days all fifty states have been hit with warnings being sent by text messages and emails warning of gang initiations at Wal-Mart. These emails claim a woman and or small child will be killed as part of some gang initiation at verious Wal-Marts though out the country. Folks, this is a hoax. It has been around in one form or another sense 2005. Many news orginisations in the past two days have evern said it is an old hoax. Law inforcment has said it is a hoax yet people keep forwarding this hoax. The website www.snopes.com which specialises in urban legends has labled this a hoax and says the hoax dates back to 2005. There has never been a case of such a gang initiation at Wal-Mart or any othter store. If you get something like this in your email or text message please check it out before forwarding it on. There is no need to needlessly scare people. Use your brains and check this stuff out first.
