Hey everyone,
We
are playing a show this Friday night alongside our pals Birthday Suits,
The Heiz (Japan) and Strangelights at The 7th Street Entry/First
Avenue. The doors are at 9 and the show is 18+.
This is a
special show because it will be footage for a video we are making. So
come on down and get in the video and be a part of the party. Also, it
is the Birthday Suits European tour kick-off. So let's send them off
with some hometown pride.
Also on the the bill are some of the
Birthday Suits friends from Japan The Heiz. And we want to give the a
warm Twin Cities reception.
Finally, the show starts at 10 with
one of Minneapolis best bands Strangelights. You can't go wrong with
this band being 2/3 of Bridgeclub and a smokin' drummer.
Come down and be party of the action. We all would love to see you.
Cheers!

So excited to perform tonight at the Turf Club with The Horrors & Crocodiles. It's going to great. We get to pull some fun stuff out of the closet for this one. Some really cool class Ouija Radio songs as well as a few new ones that will be released pretty soon. We're bringing the entire catalog tonight and offering special packages on some of our hard to find records we've been getting requests for. Good stuff for vinyl junkies!!

This was an old show from The Hexagon Bar in Minneapolis. It was our local dive bar stomping ground. I believe this was 12-27-05 or some time around that.

Hey everyone, I was getting back to myself this last month after taking a 6 month hiatus with The Von Bondies around the globe. I came home to the loss of one parent and no job so I wasn't really motivated to do much. But hey, life is full of peeks and valleys and I'm definitely moving up right now. I was recently given 52 DV tapes of Ouija Radio shows from 2003-2007 and I am in the process of going through them and posting them up on the youtube. It takes a lot of time to do this so they'll be going up as I get batches of them converted from tape to computer file and then from computer file to a sizable format to the internet. Going down memory lane reminded me of all the changes we have been through and all the good times we have had. I am super inspired to move forward now. We still have an album to finish so I'm about to do just that. I have met some producers who are really interested in me and what I do so I'm going to try that route as well. Also, I am inspired to some acoustic style shows and rearrangements for songs on the albums we have had thus far. I found that to be really fun and it works well with our style of music. So, we look forward to playing shows, finishing our album, doing rearrangements for acoustic shows and making videos. Also, I'll probably add some more musicians to the band for future shows. I want to have more fun with Ouija than ever before. To find some of our youtube stuff just search for us. It will come up. Alrighty then, keep your eyes open for a show listing coming soon! LOL, Christy

Hey all, Really sorry I didn't have time to rock one show out for ya's. I'll be back sometime this summer and a show must happen. It was nice to hear from so many people that they wanted us to play and they miss us. I am leaving for Germany on Thursday with The Von Bondies and will get to play many great shows, festivals, etc. In the meantime, I'll be working on the new album and tooling away little by little for when I get back. I can't wait to see you all at our next show. Cheers.

So I am in D-town again. I just got back from the West Coast and SXSW with The Von Bondies. We were super busy and played 6 shows amongst interviews and other junk. I did get to see some bands and have some fun so I am not complaining one bit. I didn't do to much in the self promotion department. It would be unclassy and unprofessional of me to jump on someone elses train. However, if someone took special notice in me and would ask me what I do besides then I was free to answer. I am taking SXSW as a positive experience because I met some great people and I was told by a couple of them that I will do good for both The Von Bondies and myself in the future and that I am not to old;) Anyway, for those of you who are interested, we did some interviews that you can probably catch on a google/you tube search. Also, we did a show for Direct TV that should be available to watch now if you have it. It was taped in at The Bat Bar in the Austin Convention Center last Thursday. It was quite a trip. We went on right before The Oak Ridge Boys and let me tell you they were smokin' I'll be back for a week or so in early April so there might be a surprise Ouija Radio show in the works. I'll post it here if we do. Cheers, Christy

So I'm now on the west coast with The Von Bondies. We spent the last 4 days trying to get out here. We had to cancel one show due to snow in the pass and the roads not being open and then last night we went into a snow bank and had to get towed out. We didn't know that it was a requirement to have chains for your tires. Today we played live on a radio show. The Station was 90.3 KEXP in Seattle and for those from Minneapolis it is a lot like their Current. We asked for people to come to the show tonight and bring some tire chains for us. We are curious to see if anyone does. Anyway the reason I am even talking about this is because whenever we travel I do a lot of listening to Ouija stuff and it is my way of working on the next album. I am going to keep posting works in progress for fun but don't expect them to stay up for long. Also, I am going to post some relics and old stuff that I think is kind of a breath of fresh air for myself and some of you long time fans. Well I've got to go to soundcheck. I'll be keeping in touch. Ciao.

I am sitting in a Starbucks in Toronto thinking about some new ideas for the upcoming Ouija Radio record. All the songs I've posted are not finally mixed so if you've gotten used to them and like them you'll be happy to know they will only sound better in the end. Jacques and I keep sending our ideas back and forth. It's funny working in another band that has got the professional thing down pat. I can't believe how busy we are. I am talking about The Von Bondies right now. And I guess why I am is becuase it has a lot to do with what I will learn for the next steps in the evolution of OR. I know I have to make some pretty major changes in order to make the best of our music. I will not change what the music sounds like or even looks like to some. I am just going to have to change how we work as a band. A typical day in a band that has a lot of support goes beyond getting in the van and showing up on time at the venue. You'll have many people behind you setting up 2-10 interviews a day (some with photos), instore performances, meetings with the people behind the scenes, radio performances, etc. By the end of the day you have been consumed from morning until night talking about and playing the music. I have seen the light and it means a lot of work. We shall see if everyone is up to this. I plan on working really hard to make this album take us to the next step.

So Jacques just sent me another song that will be on "I Ate the Heart". I posted it up. So now, we have three new songs "Poprocks", "Confessions In A Bathroom Stall" and "Too Far Gone". I am also putting random old songs up just for fun. Check them out and feel free to leave any comments. Also, tonight at Von Bondies practice we were told we are playing on David Letterman. So this coming Monday, February 9th tune in and check us out. You can see my ugly mug on primetime. xoxo, Christy

So I am now in Michigan (Detroit area) working with The Von Bondies. The gigs I'm doing with them are some of the biggest things I've done with a working group in music. I am learning a whole lot. You guys will probably see me in magazines, on TV and playing live with them for some time now. I am not scheduled to be home until late May and then I have to go right back out with them. Before I left I was trying to get Ouija Radio's new album finished. I made the decision not to rush it because from everything I'm learning from The Von Bondies, special care must be taken in order for the best to happen. I put up two new songs on the Myspace MP3 player that are pretty near completion. I hope you all like them. When I finish with The Von Bondies campaign you can expect a full throttle Ouija campaign. I really miss playing my own songs. However, I am on duty with The Von Bondies and I plan on giving it my all and my spice. I'll be updating some of the things I'm doing with them while I'm out on this blog. I want to let everyone know that Ouija is far from dead. Most everything for our next record has been recorded. Jacques and I are mixing this cyber. It is really interesting doing it this way. I'm progressing in mulitiple ways and can only hope that it shows on the next record. Right now we have a working title called 'I Ate the Heart'. It may change but that is it for now. I can't wait til we can rock for you all again! xoxoxoxo,. Christy
