Current mood:  breezy

my animals are very dear to me. i love them a lot and they make me smile. my bunny is nameless because nothing fits her better than bunny. i had a roborovski dwarf hamster, pookie. she died in january and i miss her all the time. she was so sweet and had the best personality. i love animals mostly because people suck. pets just want love and a good home. when i move out i dream of having a good enough space to hold more pets. im gonna be a crazy animal lady and im gonna love it.

Current mood:  ecstatic
as most people close to me know, i am obsessed with ''alice in wonderland''. 2010 seems to be an exciting year for me movie wise. ive read lewis carroll's novels: ''alice's adventures in wonderland'' and ''through the looking glass and what she found there'' and just adored the concept idea of both books. ive even watched the bubbly yet subliminal disney animated version a hundred times analyzing every detail. i am ready to plunge down into the rabbit hole and get lost in the world of wonderland from the perspective of brilliant artists.

1. PHANTASMAGORIA: THE VISION'S OF LEWIS CARROLL by Marilyn Manson

ive always appreciated manson's dark, deep, and artistic nature. when i first heard about him working on this project via "VOUGE" magazine, i was filled with sudden excitement. that was 3 years ago. the project itself has been in progress for 4 years. ive been tracking its progress since. currently the release date is set to early 2010. ive been hearing rumors that he was off the project but it appears to be false. unlike most of the "AIW" projects, manson took a different approach. at first he was going to create his own adaptation of "AIW", but then began researching the father of it all; Lewis Carroll. he says he relates to Carroll's sorrow and it inspired him to create this film out of humility. Also the release of this movie, as quoted by Manson will be "very unconventional". Wikipedia stated that the movie will first be released on Manson's official website.

i myself, am excited to see this movie because i know manson's heavy and artistic twisted mind can produce the visual, emotional, and deep feast my mind is craving for. Aside from this brilliant artist the cast is perfect. including manson himself as Lewis Carroll, Lilly Cole (British Supermodel) as Alice, Evan Rachel Wood as Alice's alter ego, and Tilda Swinton as Lewis Carroll's dream wife. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

2. ALICE IN WONDERLAND directed by Tim Burton

i love Tim Burton as a director and as an artist. although i do have concerns for this film. firstly its going to be a Disney production which means limitations in my eyes. but, i know that Tim Burton will give nothing less than a visual delight. What more is that he is sticking to the accuracy of the novel unlike its Disney animated counter part. One thing that bugs most people is the way it will be made. its going to have a reminiscent look of his older movie "Willy Wonka". Im not particularly bothered because i actually enjoyed that movie. This movie is definite to be released on March 5, 2010. The cast of course includes Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and his wife Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen (based on a chess piece for those who did not know). Also this movie is going to be in IMAX and 3D. I am not expecting anything less than a total acid trip movie from the wonderful mind of Tim Burton. cant wait :]

3. ALICE by American Mcgee.

YES I KNOOOOOW. for the ones that remember the PC game from years ago, they have been working on not only recreating the game for PS3 and Xbox gamers, but are working on the film. i am almost drooling thinking about the visuals that are going to be in this movie. Unlike the other 2 adaptations of "AIW", this one does not follow the exact storyline of the novel, nor is it based on the author, but its a total different version all together. For those of you who do not know the plot to "Alice", it is years later since Alice's last visit to Wonderland and shes all grown up. Her house burns down and kills her parents. She then attempts to commit suicide by slitting her wrists and falls into a catatonic state. she is then institutionalized in an asylum. the white rabbit summons her to wonderland which is in complete control of the Queen of Hearts. When she arrives it is far from being the same Wonderland she remembers. Since Wonderland is a place her mind had created, being older and deeply disturbed, it is reflected in this imaginary world. Wonderland blending with the asylum, real people around her, and her angsty, and visious emotions. It is simply a masterpiece of a plot, not to mention the amazing rock and roll gore and blood of it all. and lets not forget her companion, the skeletal Chesire Cat (my favorite character) that aides her along the journey with riddle like, cryptic phrases.

This movie is currently said to be released in 2010 but its possible that the release date might be moved at least another year because of Tim Burton's Film. I doubt they are willing to compete with that even though im more excited to see this version. This movie is going to be a Universal Studios production and another upsetting factor is that Sarah Michelle Geller is going to play Alice. I like SMG but noooo way do i want her to be Alice. Shes too old for the part and i dont think she has the look. A few people are saying that Kristen Stewart should play Alice but i strongly disagree because i cant stand her. Her mouth is crooked, her eyes are emotionless, and her acting is sub par in my opinion. she should really stick to her high school loser roles. others are saying Evan Rachel Wood, which i agree shes great, shes perfect for the part but shes already playing Alice in a different movie lol. Who would i like to see play the lead role? im thinking megan fox, lindsay lohan, or sophia bush. alice should be a sexy bad ass. anyways i cant wait. the funny thing is that i just found out that Lindsay Lohan actually wants to play Alice in Tim Burton's film.

* note: these movies may change release dates. they've done it before.

Current mood:  artistic
Category: Art and Photography

yesterday i went the "the met" and it was amazing.
i took a picture of some of my favorite artworks
of the day.

the egyptian exhibit.

i dont like having people in my pictures. everything
appears empty. [the egyptian exhibit]

i liked how the artist played with demension and color here.

this sculpture was my favorite of the day. it spoke to me the most.
before reading the description i already knew what it was about.
"womens role in society" is the name of it. to me it shows the
views of a sexist man and his perception of what a woman
should be and her main objective in life.

the next three are part of one painting. i like how 3 completley
random parts, that do not corespond with one another, just fade
into each other. im guessing the artist took in what was around
him in the room at the time and found beauty in it.

this one didnt come out too well. i liked this one  because of the
vibrant colors but the camera could not capture the essence of its beauty.

andy warhol style. gotta love this vintage 50s.

i loved the parade of color. each canvas was flawlessly painted.
i was not able to get the yellow in. it was the best one.

this one was so absurd i loved it. and the colors are great. very fun painting.

this was just amazing. it was huuuge. words cannot describe this artwork.

georgia o'keefe. my new favorite artist. dali is still my first fave. and
this painting very much resembles his style. this painting is so
serene in a way. o'keefe turned out to be a very contridictary woman.
she was said to have been a femanist and have paintings such as
blossoming flowers that resemble the female genetalia while having
other paintings such as a cow's skull; a phalic symbol. but later on
in her life when asked about it, she denied it.

this was the first painting that caught my eye.
it reminded me of none other than coco chanel.

i love stainglass.. this was just beautiful.

this was an accurate painting of versailles. i thought it was just amazing.

these women were just parading infront of the met dressed in classy
atire holding shopping bags from michael kors, hermes, & etc.
i just thought it was really cool. i think they were promoters of
the designers. at every red light, they would stop in the middle of
the street and just freeze like manniquins.
