Ok....I promise, more than wanting it to be known that I am the Artist PIck of the Week (Although yes, that is VERY cool), I want you to know about THE HEALTH HUNTERS (which will henceforth be called "HH")!

It's a TV show, starring my health-enthused/music-crazy/life-loving/insert-doting-adjective-here friends, Chad and Shy. The 'Artist Pick of the Week' is a recent feature on the HH fanpage that is super cool and expands what the HH is all about far beyond the premise of the TV show, which is explained a little bit below:

"How far would you go in the name of Health? Chad and Shy are about to go even further... and together, they are THE HEALTH HUNTERS.

Join Chad and Shy, two self described 'Health Hunters,' as they travel the globe on a journey of discovery in search of the most bizarre and unusual therapies, remedies and wellness practices. Become immersed in the obscure and fascinating wonders that go beyond modern medicine and into the ancient ways of cultures from around the world.

Experience the extreme measures the locals take to heal and enhance their lives, often in the absence of science. These cures, therapies, rituals and traditions are not written about in magazines or sold at the local vitamin store, but practiced and passed down over thousands of years.

Watch as Chad and Shy explore everything from Egyptian blood sucking leech therapy, to ingesting the fire ant concoctions of Kuna medicine men on the Sans Blas Islands or the ultimate 'spiritual therapy': the Filipino crucifixion re-enactments."

YIKES! So while you're checking out my artist spotlight on the fan page, make sure you join it peoples! You'll be able to watch a preview of the show, check out pics and stay tuned to the health hunting adventures of Chad and Shy!

Shobha debuts on Billboard’s Emerging Canadian Artists Chart at #26 this week! Billboard’s artist spotlight will also cover Shobha in next week’s edition. This exciting news came in light of the recent promotion of her single ‘Always on Your Feet’,  which has been successful in getting picked up instantly by several reporting stations across the country including: Virgin 95.3 FM (Vancouver), CHUM 104.5 FM (Toronto), and C100 FM(Halifax) officially
giving Shobha airplay coast to coast!  This is in addition to the radio play
she was already receiving on CBC Radio and Toronto’s hottest Urban station FLOW 93.5 FM!
Your support is BIIIIGGG - thank you indefinitely!

Have you heard?? My song 'Always on Your Feet' has been picked up by 104.5 CHUM FM and C100 FM!

I know, ye faithful supporter, you want to phone in and start inhumanely harrassing music directors to play the song. That's great. But for now here's what I would like you to do....TUNE IN! Listen to CHUM (Torontonians) and C100 (Haligonians) for the song. When you hear it, THEN phone/write in and say you LOVED it :) Say things like "Who was that?? Shobha? She's awesome!". You get the point.

I've tried to figure out the best way to do this so for now here are some options...

104.5 CHUM FM:
Here's how to officially request:
- http://www.chumfm.com/music/SongRequest.asp or go to “Contacts” in the navigation menu (on the left) and e-mail the CHUM FM announcer directly.
- The “Back In The Day Café” is the best vehicle for getting your request played on CHUM FM. For the “Back In The Day Café”, you can send your request by clicking by calling 416-870-1045, Monday-Friday from 10 am to noon. You can even make a dedication on the air! You can also contact by text message. Simply TEXT your request to 1045FM (that’s 104536 on your phone). There’s a 50 cent charge on each message.
- The rest of your questions are probably answered here: http://www.chumfm.com/ChumFaq.asp

C100 FM:
Here's a way to officially request songs at C100 (scroll down):
http://www.c100fm.com/index.asp?ObjID=3017

And their contact info is here to tell 'em you loved me:
http://www.c100fm.com/index.asp?

So that song again is 'Always on Your Feet' by me, Shobha. Check it out at www.myspace.com/shobhamusic. Tell your friends. Even your enemies. Love you for this.

This year I was thrilled to have had several dance remixes done of my song 'Letter to a Friend' by Soul-fi Records in the UK.  The response so far has been overwhelming as the remixes are already charting, receiving rave reviews and on major playlists around the world! So after a very successful promo run,  I am pleased to announce the remixes are officially released and available for sale @:

http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=search&ss=Shobha&sc=artists

If you didn't already know about the remixes, here is a bit of a press release: From the bright city lights of Toronto, Canada hails a fresh upcoming singer/songwriter called Shobha. Her soothing tones, reflective lyrics and fluid melodies caught the attention of UK label Soul-Fi resulting in a brand new release for the label titled ‘Letter To A Friend’. The haunting ‘Letter To A Friend’ is not your typical break up song, but one about saying goodbye because you have to, inspired by true events. Married with strong emotional lyrics this package comes with a selection of exciting dancefloor flavours with classy soulful house remixes from Richard Earnshaw and Funk Balls, blissed out sunkissed remixes from Soul-Fi and a peak time prog-tinged floor stormer from Essex ‘s upcoming talent, Newtrix.

COMMENTS:
'One of the sweetest tunes I’ve heard in a very long time.
Well done!' -JoeB at King Street Sounds(NYC)

-'Truly enjoying the Richard Earnshaw mix.  8/10'
-Mike Stukes at Mystic Vybes (NYC)

-'Amazing quality track - not something I can drop in any set, but love the music!' - Stonebridge

'1st on the decks is UK label Soul-Fi with a brand new cut released in September titled ‘Letter To A Friend’. The haunting vocals come from a great new talent, singer/songwriter called Shobha who hails from Toronto, Canada. Born of Indian descent, Shobha’s interest in musical stretches from Jamaica to the Bronx. Her Debut single, ‘Always On Your Feet’, a song about our constant struggle against temptations to do wrong reached massive acclaim and won many awards in her native Canada. The debut album ‘Work In Progress’, was released in 2007.With her distinctive vocal, Shobha is definitely top talent, and judging by the world reaction to ‘Letter….’, this lady’s future looks extremely lucrative. Remixes come via UK’s Richard Earnshaw, Funk Balls, Soul-Fi and a peak time floor-filler from Essex ‘s upcoming talent, Newtrix.' -'Surgery with Dr Bob Jones’ column in Manifesto Magazine (Sept 08 Issue)

'Onto the singles and Soul-Fi Records continue their impressive run with releases 3 and 4 on the label with SHOBHA 'Letter To A Friend' standing out on the Richard Earnshaw Vocal Remix from a new talent hailing from Toronto, Canada.' -Mark Coddington (Manifesto Magazine column)

'Hailing from the city of Toronto, Canada, up and coming singer/songwriter Shobha (which means grave in her native Indian) has already seem some success back at home. With her cross of pop, urban and ska, her debut single won her several awards there, but it also caught some attention this side of the pond. It wasn't long for UK's Soul-Fi Records to get on board, with a string of remixes in tow. The ever impressive Richard Earnshaw rocks it out a soulful house tip with some tasty trademark keys that carries the vocal perfectly, Funk Balls polish the disco ball and gives it slight glittering disco house edge, whilst Newtrix takes the notes to more proggy terrain. Whilst it might not be much to write home about, some choice moments, lovely vocals and a deep soulful mix from Soul-Fi make it a worthy enough purchase for this new artist. 3/5' -Wiseguy @ Slick DJ Mag (Ireland)

'4/5'- Russ i

-'Richard earnshaw delivers a glittering deep soulful house mix that really brings this vocal cut to life.. can see this being pride in my wallet for a long time to come!!' -Thomas Tuft (Juice FM Liverpool)
