Simian Mobile Disco headline KOKO for NME Shockwaves AWARDS show on February 12th.
SMD kick off 2009 with a standalone London show for the NME Awards series.
This show will be their first live date in London since headlining the Field Day Festival in August 2008 and will see SMD showcase new tracks from their forthcoming album such as Synthesise, 10,000 Horses Can't Be Wrong and Cruel Intentions (featuring Beth Ditto).....
SMD have invited progressive death metal electro 12 piece Chrome Hoof and hot disco newcomers Fan Death to support them.
Following a winter season performing with the Prodigy and Hot Chip at the Big Day Out Festival in Australia, SMD are back in the UK in early February for this hugely anticipated one off NME Awards show and are ready to blow the roof off 1a Camden High Street.
It is bound to be one of the most exciting nights of the NME Shockwaves Awards Tour 2009. Their album will follow later in the year.

There have been some relatively last minute changes to smd's end of the year schedule.

Unfortunately after ownership of the venue Heaven changed hands recently the new owners decided to cancel SMD's Christmas party with Bugged Out in order to promote their own Friday clubnight. This was entirely out of our control and we apologise on behalf of Heaven's new owners for any inconvenience caused.

Consequently SMD and Bugged Out have planned an impromptu xmas party at East Village on Great Eastern street in shoreditch on 12th december.

SMD will be joined on the decks by Our Disco's Nadia Ksaiba and 2020 vision's Simon Baker. This Is Music and Bugged Out will be manning room two.

SMD play Manchester warehouse project with the chemical brothers on Saturday 13th and a very special Glasgow live show at Optimo on Sunday 14th.

New Year's Eve sees SMD take in Bristol, Birmingham and London in a triple header.

SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO
CLOCK EP
Wichita (UK), WEBB167
Just when we where beginning to suffer from a mild case of overkill (c'mon, who really needs to hear 'Hustler' again?) they throw something new in our direction. This is just incredible. The euphoric, progressive 'Clock' and 'State Of Things' condenses trance down to its base elements, slowing it down without losing those all-important E-rushes. 'Simple' is as stark and otherworldly as anything Trax released in their day and '3 Pin Din' is a low-key, Krautrock-inspired cut. Even compared to their stellar 2007 form, SMD are operating on an entirely new level here.
