We ended our Afriad to Fall tour last Saturday (10/24) @ The Gothic Theater in Denver, CO. It was a great ending to a really good tour. Thank you to everyone that came out to see us, everyone that danced, and everyone that helped us promote. We couldn't do any of this without you. Pictures will be posted soon.
We are still planning to release our third full-length studio album in spring 2010. We are squeezing a few studio days in before Flobots tour, and will continue the work on our new songs. Anybody have ideas for an album title? Let us know.
Hope we see you at a show soon.

After many hours of preproduction and rehearsals, we are going up to a studio in boulder to start tracking several songs for our upcomming album. We have five days schedueled and then we begin our fall tour! I know many of you have heard about us working on an album and we have been spending more time on this material than we ever have on anything else we have produced. We are surely fired up and I know Josh, Adm, Jordan, and Eric are all foaming at the mouth like myself! Hope all is good with you wherever you may be!

Hello readers, this is Eric with a summer update:
We are back from our quick "summer tour" which had to be kept short this year due to our rigorous recording schedule. Kinda sad that we're going to be missing out on all the fun festivals put on by our friends in august (ie: Fat Fest, Log Jam, Harvest Fest, etc...) but we had some summer fun, and we know you want a new album as badly as we do.
Thanks again to everybody who came out to see our set at 10k. A big thanks to our buddy Adam Shapiro aka "Shappy" from Burner Lighting for making the barn look like a space ship. For those who were there, you might remember that I tried to thank our minnesota friends by reading off a list. This did not work out as smoothly as I had planned. So thanks again to Mark and everybody at MJG Productions, Kevin D. & the Histronic, Roster McCabe, Tony from Hyentight, and Heatbox.
Highlights from the festival weekend include the Josh from Kinetix/Alex from Roster McCabe mixups (See attached photos to see if you think they look alike). Late night jams at the Rave Tent in Lake Sally with John Wain and the Pain, and a late night DJ set at the Kinetix campsite featuring Derek from Pretty Lights on the ipod with small speakers. The all-star award goes to Kinetix member Adam Lufkin for going the whole weekend tent-less.
Can't wait to hit the road in late september. Stops on this next tour should take us to Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, and finally back to Denver, Colorado for a show @ the Gothic. Hope to see all our old friends, and hopefully some new ones this fall. Until then remember...The girl that can't dance says the band can't play.

In the blink of the eye, our 8 week tour came and went. We had a blast playing for all of you that showed up to any of our shows! We had quite a few blown tires and vehicle incidents, but all of us are in good health and a little bummbed that such a fun tour finally had to come to an end. But like most things in life, it isn't always a party....We definitely try and make it one though no matter what! Highlights of this tour are measured by the degree of burn we sustained in our abdomens from laiughing so hard, and unfortunately for me, I can remember laughing all too much! Too many good moments to share with you all right now...Let me take this moment to give a special shout out to the bands and individuals that gave us food, shelter, and good times on this adventure.....THE HISTRONIC, Madahoochi, Roster Mccabe, Deploi, Mark and MJG, Appleton WI, Geneva MN and Bella Madre, Memonomie WI (you all are professional drinkers), St. Louis, Kaplan, Jake in Lawrence, Brothers Mcanne, Fargo, The Big WU, Aberdeen Eagles club and everyone affiliated with helping us out that day, The trailer guy in WI that helped us repair a tire and get us to a gig, Howie and Fran, Mark and Sue, Gary and Cleveland, Paul and Mary Lou, Liz Lufkin, Funkwagon (thanks for the hospitality again!), Everyone in Bloominton IND that helped us out, Double Door crew, Andy Shore (heal up that leg dude), Robby Shore, All the sound engineers that had to help us with soundcheck and moniters, all the lights and production crew, Herbalize, and last but not least....All of you that came out to support us and help us with our travels. With out all of these folks (I am sorry if I left some out) it would not have been feasible! A many humble thanks! We are going to be recording real hard all the way up until mid July and making the best of our time in the studio working with our producers.... Until then.....Much Love Jack

Getting ready for Kinetix Spring Tour 09’? I knew you were.
We're armed with a new van that has been named the Stay Puft Marshmallow Van. We took the new car for a test run to Atlanta last week and we made it through with only one flat tire. Otherwise the van drives like any 97 Chevy should, rrrrrrrr. The Showcase we played in Atlanta was for a college booking circuit. We figure college kids like to get funky, and so do we. So we rocked People Start Hopping at the conference, and everybody got the funk sauce. The highlights of the trip include hanging out backstage with Mr. Belding from saved by the bell, and our new agent Travis treating us to a night on the town.
Tonight is the night before mustache bash, and I’m staying in at home ironing my mustache. The bash is an annual fundraiser for the National Sports Center for the Disabled that we have played the last 5 years. We hire a horn section, backup singers, and cover 70’s funk tunes all night long. Thanks to everyone who is coming out to support the good cause.
The bash is our last show in Denver before we leave for a seven week spring tour. The last few months in Denver have been spent working out new songs, and I think we're all itching to get back on the road. We have many highlights on this next tour including a Show opening for the BIg Wu in Milwaukee, as well as a few shows with our good friends Roster McCabe in Minnesota, a Chicago show with 56 Hope Road, a show at Harpers Ferry in Boston, and a slot at the Bella Madre Music Festival. So get ready for Spring Tour, check out our new website(www.thekinetix.com), and bake a cake. Things are about the get funky.
-Eric

News: This is an announcement to everyone regarding our activities for the next several months. As you can see, we do not have many shows or tours lined up for this winter or for a good part of the spring. There is a simple reason for this and it is because we are working on a NEW RECORD!!!! Since we started touring hard in the summer of 2007, we have had little time to spend on writing or recording new material. On the pockets between tours, we have put together some new songs and have been working hard both individually and as a group to get new songs on the drawing board. Now that we have sometime set aside, we are going to work on getting a new record ready. So you know, we are NOT setting a release date, or any other significant date on when new songs will be ready, or when the album will be ready! Some of the new material has been performed live, but there are quite a few songs that none of you have ever heard. We will definitely keep you all posted on the latest, but we wanted to save some of you the trouble of trying to figure out why we are not hitting the road this winter.
In other news, we are planning on hitting the road in the spring and summer! This will include the East Coast as well as the Midwest and possibly some new areas we have not traveled yet! We are not getting cold feet yet because we all love going around the country, we just want to take the time to start recording!
We also want to take this time to announce that we will be performing with our good friends the Flobots on NEW YEARS EVE!!!!!!!! We are completely amped that we get to share the stage with them again. If you haven't heard of them, I will be surprised, but check them out, they are in our top friends list! We will be doing several mountain town shows as well, so there will be opportunities to see us, and maybe even ski with us! Come stop in and say hello when ever you want, Let us know how you are doing! Much Love, Jack/Kinetix

Hey everyone one! A lot has happened this fall already and I thought it would be cool to just update everyone on some of the highlights! When we went on tour in September, we had the opportunity to go to some new territory. Michigan was a georgeous place to be in the fall as the leaves were turning. It wasn't cold necessarily but, it wasn't all that warm. We played at the University of Michigan in Annarbour as well as the Blind Pig and at Western Michagan University in Kalamazoo at a frat party. The frat party was interesting because the cops showed up and we hustled the entire PA and gear into the house and had the show started within a half hour. Other highlights include Chicago at Martyr's. We shared the stage with heatbox, who is a wicked nice guy, who does all of his beatboxing and sound organically (interesting!). Bcause Beck was in town that night with MNGT, he performed an acoustic set which we had the opportuity to attend. Awesome!!!! The University of Illinois (champaign) was a riot of a good time. We played a block party which we have done in recent years and as usual, it was very fun! We got back to Denver and have been working on a lot of material. After not seeing man denver stages for a bit, we were hungry to get in front of our fans again and do a kick ass show! The Marquis Show was the show we wanted to have in order to get some of our younger fans out and in front of us. We promoted hard (A special thanks to 101.5 denver's Independent Alternative!) and went on the radio and did an acoustic set. Having never done a live, on air, acoustic performance, it was super cool to try something new and go for it. The songs we performed turned out great! We want to take this time to thank Rob Drabkin and his band as well as Vonnegut. Everyone affiliated with these two groups are super sincere and generally really great people to be around. We also would like to thank everyone that showed up and got down with us this last Saturday! We are hitting the road for another 10 days, but we will be back in November for the month to work on a new record and write some more material. Most of the winter we will be in an around Colorado, getting prepared for a spring tour and a whole lot of recording! Our new album is going to take us sometime as we want to make sure it is something we are all very proud of! On New Years Eve we will be sharing the stage with the FLOBOTS at the Gothic Theatre....!!!! We are honored to be on stage with them again as they are having great success around the country recently! We will keep you updated on the latest news via our blog and email, and will continue to do the best we can wen we are playing in front of you! Much love and respect, Jack/Kinetix
