All songs recorded on 4-track tape, except for "Free Again" and 'Man in the Mirror" which were recorded on a Zoom H2 hand-held digital recorder. The CDs that most of the songs are drawn from are available for free from PapaPatty. They are: (1) BLUES FOR PATTY, VOLUME I; (2) PARANORMAL POP (BLUES FOR PATTY, VOLUME II);
(3) REVERBERATIONS (BLUES FOR PATTY, VOLUME III).
"Sorcery" is a song written for the jazz group Gateway by their drummer Jack DeJohnette. It is on my third demo called REVERBERATIONS.
"Blue Memorial" is a PapaPatty composition, a special tribute to Patty. It is also the only recent song that I play any guitar on, just some acoustic rhythm. Doctor Satan added some of the special effects on the breakdown in the middle of the song. This song is on my third demo, REVERBERATIONS.
"Outback Jump" is a PapaPatty song included on BLUES FOR PATTY VOLUME I. It was the first song PapaPatty ever recorded, in March 2008.
"Devil's Dirt" is based on an old Bulgarian folksong called "Come to Dinner Tonight Rada," which was recorded by saxophonist Dave Liebman's group OPEN SKY. My version appears on the demo REVERBERATIONS. "Free Again" is a jam off of an old Gene Ammons tune, with PapaPatty on saxophone and Uncle Patty (Chuck Burkett) on drums. It is included on a rough demo entitled MR. MAGOO'S BLUES, which we recorded in December 2008 in Ecorse, Michigan. "MollyB" is about PapaPatty's daughter Molly, shown in the picture. It is also Molly's favorite song from PARANORMAL POP, which for her might mean PARANORMAL DAD.
"Breezy Nights" was written by Patty in 2002 or 2003, and posted on his Geocities website. Patty played guitar and keyboard and set up the electronic drum loop. (The original version is on the Patty Music myspace site if you want to hear it.) Here I have added a saxophone with delay, wah wah, and distortion effects to fill in some leads. This was the first of Patty's songs that I learned to play after picking up the saxophone in September 2006. It is included on my latest demo-CD, REVERBERATIONS.
"Night Trip" is a PapaPatty song from BLUES FOR PATTY, VOLUME I. It concerns a road trip from Miami to Detroit that took place back in 1984.
"Five Mile High" depicts musically the euphoria one feels after a good five-mile run. It is a PapaPatty composition included on PARANORMAL POP.
"Stigmata Strut" is another original number from the new demo REVERBERATIONS. It has PapaPatty doing a little synth bass riff and electronic congas to accompany the alto recorder - an instrument that PapaPatty has messed around with since the mid-1970s. The title of the song may or may not have religious connotations. Suit yerselves.

Except for the cases where photographs are used, the illustrations accompanying the songs were all done by PapaPatty, with digital conversions and enhancements by Zann Carter. Expandable and downloadable versions of the illustrations are included on this site in the photo albums "Blues for Patty Volume I," "Paranormal Pop," and "Reverberations."
