This cover of Pink Floyd's "Us and Them" was recorded 10 years ago (1999) by Kurt Ballou at God City studio's in Boston, Mass. Originally planned to go onto a Pink Floyd tribute album that never ended up getting released. This cover was the last song recorded by Codeseven that featured the original line up (Big Dave on the keys).

The release of this song is also to announce the debut of this very site "Revivl"! It's a social music news site that lets you create a profile and then submit your own music related news stories and then have them voted on by the community. Click on "Buzzfix" to see whats happening on other news sites and/or search through the "Popular" and "Upcoming" tabs to see whats generating the most buzz from news submitted BY you.

It's100% free so please sign up, Bookmark, vote up stories you like, submit your own news and have some fun with it. The site is still in beta so please give us your feedback on how to make REVIVL even better! Thanks James, Jon and Eric

Current mood:  blissful

I haven't touched this blog in a long while. Its probaly been 8 months since I have even signed in here. I guess my reason for coming here tonight is I just went to a cookout with Big Dave and Jeff! For those that don't remember, Dave was the vocalist with us for the first 3 records (for those that don't go back that far with us, the "hardcore"era), and Jeff....well you know Jeff. It was alot of fun talking about the past and all the goodtimes tonight. We all still hang some what but ....... not so much as of late.Jeff is stilling making music and doing good. Dave is doing good and the rest of us are doing Telescreen still.

I guess it got me thinking tonight about Codeseven and how I think we are perfectly content with being a footnote in this thing we call a "scene" lol! Lots of goodtimes....and bad, but overall I couldnt have asked for anything else with what we did!

Will we ever do this again........well never say never!

James

We are finally ready to announce the start of our new project which was in the process of searching for a vocalist and writing songs since last winter. The new band is called Telescreen and features James, Jon, Matt, and Eric from Codeseven with Jared Draughon from Classic Case on vocals. We have a full albums worth of songs written and a lot of it has already been recorded in our new studio. We've posted one of those songs on the myspace site called Rumors. Our debut show will be Sept 1st in Raleigh. Things have been at full steam for quite a while and we're happy to finally let everyone know what we've been up to.
Thanks,  Telescreen

Upcoming shows:
Sep. 1st - Raleigh, NC @ Lincoln Theater w/ He is legend, KillWhitneyDead, and more.
Sep. 27th - Winston-Salem, NC @ The Garage w/ Woven, Lovecraft, and more.

It's been more than a year and a half since Codeseven played thier last show, ending abruptly in Rhode Island, while promoting the last album Dancing Echoes/Dead Sounds (2004). Well, after taking a good amount of time off, i'm pleased to announce that we have decided to start a new band together! Please note two things however!

First, this is not a Codeseven reunion. We are very happy where it ended musically and want to keep Codeseven on that same path, if and when we decide to get it back together. Right now the plan is to explore new ideas..............
