yesterday i heard two of the best quotes i've heard in a long time.

"Im not stupid, thats why i was elected president, man" - Obama, 60 minutes interview

Besides all the other informalities this one brought the president to my level. I find that hillarious, a little inappropriate but overall charming. its also ironic that our president would, though in jest, suggest he was elected president for not being stupid and then call the interviewer "man". The answer was in reposnse to a question about "telling his mother in law what to do" and Im probably reading too much into it but doesnt the quote seem like a jab to the Rep ticket? The rest of obama's responses are often facetious and slightly sarcastic, but again in a good way; Based on the format and the questions this may have been the interviewer's goal.

The second one is less light hearted

I finally saw Lawrence of Arabia last night. that might be ridiculous to most of you who saw it as a kid. you were probably forced by your parents and probably bargained for some extra ice cream or candy in exchange for 3 and a half hours of your time. Seriously, when youre 8, 3 and half hours is pretty big in proportion to your life span. Anyways the quote blew me away

"The vitrues of war, are the virtues of young men"

Its one of those quotes that hits you as obvious and for that reason all the more insightful. at least subconciously wars seem to be the products of old politicians and vested interests that we, regular citizens, cant comprehend or are simply mislead from. But it is the character, culture, and rage of the soldiers who fight it that define its laws and crimes.

TBC

I want to keep writing but i have to get to work.
