I am excited about this weeks show, well kinda, lol.  I had to promise my Pastor that I would play Rocky Top during one of my shows.  Pastor Lands is the one who got the radio station started and he is from Knoxville and I guess you can tell where this is going.  He is a hugh TN Vols fan and I am a hugh Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  Rocky Top is TN football song sooooo, I just decided I couldn't play it during football season.  So this week, I'm going to get it over with, lol.
I will also end the show with a song like no other.  If you are in or have been in the military or have family in, you will love the ending of the show.  It is by a group named The Cockman Family.  They have a deep love for both bluegrass music and Jesus Christ.
I'll also be playing a song for my friends The Interfaith Hospitality Network in Johnson City, TN.  They have been doing so much for people in need in Johnson City and I am happy to play them a song and to be their friend.
You won't won't to miss this weeks show and if you would like to be added to a secure, SPAM free email list, I can add you to it and let you know when new shows are added to www.smokingbluegrass.com , the home for The Bluegrass Gospel Hour.  Just send me an email to john@smokingbluegrass.com and I'll get you added right away.  Thanks to everyone and I hope you have a great weekend.

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a great week and that the weather has been better as the days get closer to summer.  We have had a cold week with rain and snow but it was the good kind of snow, you could watch it fall but the roads were clear.
This week on the show I have another seven songs that I will play for the first time.  They are from Paul William and his band The Victory Trio, The Lonesome River Band, Charlie Waller, The Churchmen, Dailey & Vincent, Blue Moon Rising & a great band called Statement.
I hope you can join me on either Sat or Sun morning at 3 AM in the east and midnight in the west or on Sat or Sun night at 10 PM in the east and 7 in the west thru the stations website at www.praisefm.net or here in the Mid Ohio Valley on both 96.1 FM and 98.1 FM or anytime during the week on my website, www.smokingbluegrass.com where I archive the shows.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great rest of the week.

Hi everyone, hope you have had a great week and not to many bad april fool jokes.  I have a great show lined up with lots and lots of new songs for The BGGH.
I have added many new songs to the line up over the past several weeks.  This week is no different.  I have 17 songs ready to play and out of the 17, 10 are brand new to the show!  Of the 10 new songs, two are brand new releases.  They are by Paul Williams and his band The Victory Trio and a great band by the name of Gold Heart.
A new band that will be on the show this week is a band named The Chigger Hill Boys & Terri.  They are amazing!  Also planned is some great classic bluegrass by Flatt & Scruggs and even a song sung where the words are forgotten!  It's a fun song and a smile is promissed to cross by your face.
Thanks to everyone who either tunes in each weekend or comes by my website where the shows are archived, www.smokingbluegrass.com .  The sound from the website is cd quality and a great way to pass an hour at work.  Please tell your friends about the show and I will do my best to help you all have a great part of a day with some great bluegrass gospel music.  Each show is an hour and they are commercial free.  Have a great weekend and hope to have you as a guest this week.

Hi everyone, here are a few of the songs and bands for the show this week.  A very special thank you goes out to the bluegrass band, Four Wheel Drive.  They sent me their cd and did an swesome job on their version of Walking in Jerusalem.  Liberty Bluegrass Band will be playing my most favorite version of Rank Stranger.  Jordan Layne Bourland has helped me out more than he knows.  He is one of the greatest players in bluegrass music today.  His version of Power in the Blood will be one of the new songs for The BGGH this week.  And a great friend, The Morris Brothers, will play a great melody.  All four of these bands are friends here on myspace.  A total of 17 songs will be in the commercial free show this weekend.
Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have a great day.

Hi everyone, I want to first thank everyone who has stopped by my website, www.smokingbluegrass.com and listened to an archived show of The Bluegrass Gospel Hour.  It is a great way to spend an hour, especially at work.  It really makes an hour fly by.  I am lucky to have an hour show, commercial free!
This week I will start of the show with my friend Robert Feathers.  His band is awesome!  I can't think of another word that better describes them.  I love the fast style playing of bluegrass music and they are fast, but they have so much talent that the tunes they play will cause you to say "WOW" when they finish their song.
Also on the show this week is Barney Fife, from the Andy Griffith Show.  If you can't think of how he can fit into the BGGH, you'll just have to stop by.
I also wanted to thank everyone for spreading the word about my show.  I have seen my picture on so many pages as a top friend and I want to say a special thank you to everyone.  It really means a lot to me.  I know bluegrass music is hard to find and gospel bluegrass is even harder.  I hope you enjoy the show and can tune in either live or thru smokingbluegrass.
I hope you all have a great day and thanks for being a friend!
