This week the winning review is of the album 'Contact!Contact!' by London-based indie group Tellison.

Contact!Contact! by Tellison - reviewed by Guards

The fact that members of Tellison study at Cambridge and Oxford universities should really prepare you for the fact that this album is going to intelligent and ground breaking. The end product however surpasses many of the expectations held, and is in fact an absolute masterpiece. The fusion of mathy elements with post-indie themes makes this a passionate and emotive listen; from the chaotic opening of Hanover Start Clapping to the beauty of Hospital, this is an album which will sit on constant repeat in your i-tunes.
For fans of: Dartz!, Tubelord, This Town Needs Guns.

This week we have reviews of the upcoming New York electro band Apes & Androids, and notorious house DJ Hervé, by this week's competition winners!

Apes & Androids - reviewed by Ollie.

‘The next big thing just a band’ that’s what Dan le Sac and Scroobius Pip think, but that band may just be Apes & Androids. This Brooklyn based six-piece is the home of sci-fi extravaganza’s and electro big beat tunes. Fans of MGMT will be well catered for with Apes & Androids, and those who have taken a liking to Lady Gaga can take their newly found electro taste buds to the extreme. They play heavily up tempo, synth pop with some high voiced singing thrown in that would make Justin Hawkins jealous. The up tempo nature of the music really gets in your head and the infectious choruses will force you to get those dancing shoes on once again.

Hervé – reviewed by Betty Filous

Hervé, fidget house and jackin’ house may ring a few bells for some fellow electro fans but to others they simply sound like a judge’s description of a squat! So Friday 13th February, unlucky for some, but blates, for me, tres lucky! It was the night I confirmed my love for Hervé (for the second time!), not just him, his music too. He was playing a very intimate gig at ‘The Westbury’ in dodgy ole Kilburn. Turning up, I’m not going to lie, I did have doubts, the lack of people throwing shapes on the dance floor was the first indication that his gig could go tits up, and then the pre consumed rum from the hip flask took effect and....

Fast Track competition winner Oliver Hindle from Superpowerless and live band member Stevie have been in the studio recording the single Wasted My Time with renowned producer and DJ, Andy Chatterley.

Andy has been Grammy nominated as part of The Buick Project, and played keyboard and Synths on Kanye West’s Graduation album, most notably on the hit single Stronger.

Oliver said, ‘I am really pleased with the finished track and how far we managed to take it.
Working with Andy was awesome -
he really liked the track so he was really enthusiastic about making it sound as good as possible. He taught me loads about mixing, composition and producing. He was really down to earth and we had a laugh as well.
Good times!’

And on Friday, Superpowerless were in North London shooting the music video for Wasted My Time with director Luc Janin, who has previously directed promos for Stereophonics, The Fratellis, Boy Kill Boy and Lethal Bizzle.

‘Making the video was really exciting – we’ve never done anything like it before.
I'm not sure why, but I always presumed they'd be shot in the same order that they would appear, so it seemed really random in the way that we did things.
Hopefully the finished product will show how much fun we had on the day!’

Wasted My Time will be available to download on Vodafone Live! from 23rd March.
