Most the time when I walk my dog, Hawk, I end up gittin' down right pissed of at him cuz he 'bout wants to pull my arm from the socket.  Well, the other day i was walking that dirty ol' Brother Backslider's dog, Ma'i; and as I walking up to the house after taking her out for a good long spell I realized I wasn't upset at her at all.  She's just a puppy and pulled on me like a train engine.  So I thought about it, and I decided that the reason I wasn't upset is because I had no desires for the dog to walk any certain way.  When I walk my own dog, I want him to behave a certain way because I'm training him to walk the way I want.  If he strays from my plans for him, then I start to get upset at him.

Maybe folks could take that into consideration when understanding the folks around them.

September - finish recording out of my suitcase recording studio in the Backslider's garage in LA
October - touring the South
November - Europe
December - fall asleep in a gutter with a handle of whiskey....."oh soooo warm"
