just to let you know Paul & I will be playing live in Barcelona for SOS Galgos on 22nd November, we're so excited because we will also be going on a sponsored dog walk on Sunday while we're there and we'll get to meet some of the rescue galgos, including my favourites 'Mel' & 'Wonder' that mum just painted!

Dear all,

thank you so much for downloading Regina's song and in doing so helping to raise funds for The Bright Eyes Society. All the download proceeds added up so far to £40.00 which I posted via paypal to Bright Eyes a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to list everyone who kindly downloaded but it would be a very long list! So thank you from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time and trouble to visit the link and donate with your hearts and your hard earned money. 

You have helped to make Regina's song speak very loudly in her memory. I still have moments of acute sadness when I think of her and I shed tears that I know will always be there just under the surface. The poor dog should never have been taken from this world in such a brutal and terrifying way, there is no worse a crime than to hurt a child or an animal in my opinion, it is the lowest of the low. To make my dark thoughts of Regina's passing easier to bear I think of her at peace now over the rainbow bridge, surrounded by happy people and animals, the sun shining on her beautiful face and her memories of what happened are gone forever. She is asleep in green fields of clover and she has many friends down here on earth who will continue to fight for other animals at risk, in Regina's name. 

I'm proud of what we have made here for Regina. This is a special place that tells the world she mattered and all animals are important for they are living beings just like us. 

I'm proud to know so many kind and loving people who have hearts so big that they reach out to every fallen angel and help to pick them up. Those we cannot save we never forget and each day we can make a difference and denounce cruelty. 

You truly are blessed people, each and every one of you.

had to share this news, Regina's song is really getting out there & being heard world wide!!! We HOPE it will help other animals in Spain in the future, let people know cruelty to animals MUST NOT be tolerated by government and society. May we never forget what happened to this poor, wretched shelter dog. And in Regina's name may protection of voiceless animals be possible in Spain.

The central Spanish government must protect animals from sexual predators who defile these innocent creatures simply because they cannot say no. The law is weak and ignores the horrifying cruelty without investigation in most cases. Enough is enough.

How many more animals must suffer and die in a pool of blood as Regina did, with nobody to speak up for them? This vile behaviour towards animals is perverted and wrong. Please be aware of the cruelty towards animals in our society today and write to the Spanish authorities denouncing cruelty and politely expressing the need for compassion towards each and every sentient being.

This terrible story of sorrow must be the starting point for a better, safer life, for all animals in Spain.

Please send to everyone you know, blog it, bulletin, and let's get as many signatures as possible for Regina, this will send a VITAL message to Spanish authority figures that animal cruelty is a crime and must be addressed as such!

Regina was a stray dog waiting to be adopted in the Carcaixent Refuge (Spain). Late at night criminals entered the refuge and sexually abused and tortured her. She was found dead by refuge workers in the morning.

We demand that the council in Carcaixent (Spain) actively investigate and punish those responsible for this crime and also take the necessary steps to prevent animals from being mistreated like this in the future.

Regina era una mastina de cinco años que fue recogida en el refugio de Carcaixent (Valencia) a la espera de una adopción. Desgraciadamente, encontró la muerte ya que unos individuos irrumpieron en el recinto, robaron varios perros y a Regina la torturaron, abusaron sexualmente de ella introduciéndole objetos en el ano y la apalearon hasta la muerte.
 
Pedimos al ayuntamiento de Carcaixent y organismos que correspondan que pongan todos los medios posibles para que actos tan brutales e inhumanos no vuelvan a suceder y que se persiga y condene severamente a los culpables.

Regina sufrió una tortura difícil de imaginar y no merece que su caso sea olvidado. Pedimos justicia para Regina y para todos los animales que sufren maltrato y abandono.

Dear all,

I just wrote a little poem for Regina and I think it would be good if we can get as many poems as possible for her, I will update this blog and keep it as a tribute site if you can send me your poems in memory of Regina, it certainly made me feel better to get these words out. I guess it's healing. Maybe they can be sent along with the petition to the Spanish authorities one day.

Dear all,

I spoke with Laura from Ribercan Carcaixent this evening  and found out some more details about what happened at the shelter. I told Laura I will send her a list of questions that I need answered in order to put a press release together. One of the things I asked was about the location of the shelter and whether the dogs are alone at night or not, yes they are and the volunteers are afraid the people who did this can easily come back and do it again because at night the building is closed and the volunteers go home, the shelter is in a rural and very quiet area. The police have been informed but they have done nothing. Laura thinks having a security guard patrolling the shelter at night would help enormously, I'm going to ask her if they can afford to employ someone at least for a short time and if they can't raise the cash then maybe we can help to fund raise for that purpose.

I'll get on with the list of questions because as soon as there's a clear plan there's hope that we can move forward.

Dear everyone,

thanks for getting Regina's page off to such a good start, this case as you know if you've read the blog, has really got to me, we all see so many sad cases of cruelty these days but this one was one too many for me and I am taking the fight for justice for this poor dog as far as it can go, in the aim to make the Spanish authorities treat this case seriously. It's a crime but they seem to think crime doesn't apply to animals, well I have news for them, yes it certainly does.

Tonight I will be talking by phone to one of the shelter staff and I will find out what they need and what can be done to help them and gradually as a picture emerges I will attempt to write a press release and blog the updates as we go.

Thank you all again, you inspire me and you've made me feel so much better, after yesterday and too many tears I really needed to feel that there is hope.
