This week we were chosen as Sell-A-Band's Artist of the week!
www.sellaband.com

We also answered some interview questions for them
and pasted them below for our reading enjoyment:

· Who is Arctic Fox?
Arctic Fox is a new 5 piece Chicago based, Indie/Pop/rock outfit
from the U.S. Although, we've only been together since the fall of 2008,
we are quickly gaining a respectable response in and out of the U.S.
The music melds together a variety of influences and sonic layers.
From the edgy Chicago alternative rock style guitars to those sunny montreal
indie pop melodies and harmonies that make you want to get up and dance.
We plan on self-releasing our very first 6 song  E.P. this Spring.

· How did the band form?
A combination of 5 well networked and talented friends,
co-workers, and previous bandmates have brought Arctic Fox together
to make it what it is today. Andy A.(guitarist)  and Julio Ibarra (keys/vocals)
first starting writing together for this project in the late summer of 2008
after dealing with much stress and difficulty working with their previous band.

After writing a couple of songs together and realizing the potential
the music could have we decided to record a few tracks for show.
These recordings helped us bring on board the other 3 foxes being:
Eric Quinlan (Guitar/vocals), Juli Sherry (Bass guitar), and Jose Robert (Drums)
We immediatley clicked and got to work. The journey so far has been
incredibly creative and enjoyable! I don't think we could of asked for much more.

· How did you come across SellaBand and what are your thoughts so far?
We heard about Sell-A-band through a friend of Eric Q. who lives in the U.K.
He'd previously known about the site and when he heard our music he urged
us to make a profile and give it a shot for ourselves. We didn't know what
exactlyto expect at first... But we know we love it now!
Sell-A-Band has a great thing going on. it is much different from
any other music site we have seen out there yet. It is a great experience
for both the artists and the fans to interact. As a fan It is also a fantastic tool
for discovering new talent and feeling a part of the bands growth
and future success.

· What are the bands ambitions?
Our biggest long term ambition is probably simillar to that of most bands.
And that is to get our music in front of as many people as possible and
to have the ability create an inspiration or spark in the mind of a new listener.
Our short term goals are based around building a solid and steady fan base,
Getting our first E.P. out by the spring to create a buzz,
and to eventually take our music on the road later this year.

· You’ve been compared to the likes of The Clash, Joy Division and U2.
How does that make you feel as they are legendary bands?

Well, It makes us feel great! and we definitley have a huge list of
just a ton of different influences that have an effect on the way we write,
record, and create our music. Although, it always seems like a far fetched idea
to become that huge legendary rock band, it can never be a bad thing
to be compared to such magnificent talent. Heck, we'd be overwhelmed
with happiness of we can just sell out the first run of EP's we print this year.

· Arctic Fox gig a lot, what do you most enjoy about playing live?
We are a fairly new band, but we have been working hard on networking
with a ton of local talent and venues to put on a number of good shows this year.
I'd say at the moment we are playing a show about every two weeks
or twice a month. The shows have been great, it's the thing we look forward to
the most besides recording. To just hear your music at a venue 5x louder
than at practice with subwoofers and an engineer is always fun!
We love the crowd reactions too! so far the response has been
extremely positive for us. Some people dance and jump around,
others just stare, clap, and yell. And there's always those few that make
you smile because they know the lyrics to your newest song.

· What will your SellaBand album sound like?
If Arctic Fox conquered the Sell-A-Band competition,
we think the album  would sound well....  like ARCTIC FOX!
it would defintley hold tight to our identity but be very sleek and polished,
in a respectable indie band type of fashion of course. Like imagine if
Arctic Fox produced and recorded a Kanye West album in their own
Living room, but with the state of the art, million dollar gear you
always dream about. yeah sounds fantastic right!
Thats something we'd love to hear for ourselves!

Why should people ‘believe’ in and listen to Arctic Fox?
I feel we are a lot different from of other indie, alternative rock,
and pop bands out here. While we deliver a refreshing, good feeling,
pop sensation in our music. We still grasp tight to our Rock roots.
I think there is a lot to offer in our music for a wide demographic of music fans!
and call us crazy but we think our sound has great commercial, radio,
and licensing potential. If you pay attention closely, chances are you will
find yourself humming those catchy guitar hooks, Vocal melodies,
and piano arrangments you hear in our tunes. try it! ;)

Thanks!

..This weekend, we were thrilled to be a part of the first official
photo shoot of 2009, for photographer Jacen K. Initially,
the idea of shooting outdoors made perfect sense in the
30 degree temp’s of Chicago's South side. You could say it was
no less than a surprise to see temperatures plunging to a bone chilling
-25 degrees Before even factoring in the windchill the day of our photo shoot.
haha! Even with such hard to work weather, we got it together
and the 6 of us had a real blast! at one point we even thought
about making snow angels and convinced ourselves that Jacen K's
middle finger had suffered frostbite and would of been seconds from
falling off if we hadn't forced him to take a break to warm up his hands
in the car. We definitely appreciate all of his fantastic hard work,
dedication, and creativity. He's amazing to work with, and wouldn't mind
doing it all over again! Check out our new photos by Jacen K.
that will posted soon, for an authentic look at what it means to be
an ARCTIC FOX!

I never thought I'd use these words.
Close your eyes and go to bed.
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead

Your shadow is heaven.
Your touch is floating near.
We'll Follow the angels,
that I have murdered here.

I never thought I'd use these words.
Close your eyes and go to bed.
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead

The hours we truly wasted,
our souls seperated.
can't go back, your eyes are gone
And I know it's wrong, I know it's wrong.

I never thought I'd use these words.
Close your eyes and go to bed.
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead
I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, you're dead
