Greetings fellow members of D&S Safe Harbor I wanted to start things off with a very important and relevant subject and that subject is Called Scene Negations. I will do my best to express what I believe to be a crucial and very vital step to playing in the scene and with not just the new comer but with anyone you intend to practice the craft of BD/SM with.

To The new comer Scene negotiation is very important and vital if someone ask you to play with them and they do not talk to you about it first DO NOT PLAY WITH THEM RUN THE OTHER WAY!

Please Understand if you have Negotiated a scene with someone and have come to an agreement of what you can and can not do to the person your playing with and you decided to go beyond that agreed play or try and insert fingers toys and or your mouth or prick or a strap-on if you happen to be a women then you are committing rape pure and simple and by crossing over the agreed means of play you have proven you self to be unworthy of trust respect and honor and should pack your bags and find a place to hide away for good you are not wanted in the community.

Whether someone is new to the scene or has been around for a long time and has experience it is always a good idea to start out by opening Negations. What is a scene Negation you might ask well what it means is that you sit down with the person you intend to play with and ask them some serious questions about their health to make sure there is nothing that can cause bodily damage or even death. An example of this would be Lets say if you are in a club or a private setting and you wanted tie someone up and use a violet wand on them now you decide that you have use a violet wand thousands of time so you feel as a top you what you are doing and you don't talk to the person your about to play with as you start to play they have a stroke or a heart attack and end up in hospital or even dead All because you did not ask if they had any health problem you should be aware of. You may say oh that shit wont happen it's not possible. Well it has happened and more then once.

So now back to the point and how to begin your Scene negotiations.

1. Get to know the person you plan to play with a little and make sure you have some sort of a connection or at least a base of trust to start from. Get the dialog rolling.

2. Ask them about their health do they have any Heart, back or neck issues you need to know about do they have bad knees and other joint problems that might be affected but rope bondage.

3. Ask them about their experience in the scene is this there first time playing or even seeing what we call play or have they played before and if so what did they do prior when they have played.

4. Ask them if they have any hard limits i.e. things they do not want to do or even try to do. They may only like being spanked or bound they may not want to be single tailed or shocked they may have a fear of edge play and not wish to o there. It is your duty and job to find this all out before you play not after.

5. Tell them what you would like to do to them give as much details as you can i.e. do you want to flog them do you want to use clips on their nipples or hogtie them do you intend to touch them in a sexual way if so in what capacity and is it ok with them.

6. Stick to what you have agreed on be mindful of the scene you are in make sure you are giving the person your playing with 100% or your attention and care and be safe clean and respectful at all times.

As always this is my own opinion and you can do as you wish with it. I hope other will chime in with more good advice as well as exposing anyone who has crossed the lines of what is agreed on and what was not. I also hope that those who have crossed the line with learn it is not ok and perhaps make changes and amends to the one they have hurt and then carry themselves with dignity and respect.

First, let me start by saying that I will not point fingers, assign blame but know I will not tread lightly on this subject. If you feel like I am talking about you or your behavior, then perhaps you should take a better look at who you truly are and not who you try and portray. Like they say, "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then son it's a fucking duck!"

The scene no matter what scene you may be in, from fetish to BD/SM to Swinging to just plan kinky like-minded adults will always have The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It is unavoidable - we are after all human. Some are strong and some, well, are weak. Some stand tall and hold them selves with honor and some believe in nothing, while others value nothing, not even themselves. Some seek to gain wisdom and knowledge of themselves, of the universe, and to grow beyond what lies in our nature, yet some only seek to exist, to crawl through life dragging as many other as they can, caring for nothing and no one, let alone a higher purpose.

My Scene for the purpose of this letter is BD/SM. I have watched what was once a lifestyle hidden away in quite back rooms and behind the closed doors and windows of private homes and the few clubs that catered to our brand of kink where we gathered to enjoy our forbidden pleasures and our kinky games, but for all intents and purposes, seen by all outside of it self as a Taboo a thing to be only whispered about and keep in the dark tucked back in our deepest and darkest desires into the public circus it has become.

Once it got started, it was not a slow process in fact the plague spread rather quickly. The club scene had arrived and changed not only the scene but what was acceptable and how one learned and grew in the scene changed and the more public it became, the more it was dangled in the faces of what is thought to be main stream the more it was open to infection and abuse. Not because of responsible players who truly took time to learn who had mentors and guides, but it was the new bread and some of The Bad and the Ugly from the old days who sill managed to linger like a fart in the scene. These are the ones who saw the lifestyle as a way to glory and stardom and a path to take respect by force and a way to hide the fact that they are not Doms, but abusive men and at times, women. For all intents and purposes, that person fell into the dream that if he/she call him/herself Sir or Master or Lord or Mistress, Lady, or Empress or whatever it is and magically he/she becomes a man or woman of substance and honor and therefore, should be respected and feared by all. Poppycock! I am calling Shenanigans on this whole farce. My view on this entire deal on what a Master or Mistress is and is not. Like I said, this is my opinion and my views you can take it or leave it.

To call oneself "Master" or "Lord" is a personal choice, not an honor bestowed upon you by the Queen or the president or some majestic committee who floats on a cloud watching over us Singing songs of our conquests and granting us office based on our heroic deeds and our unyielding honor LOL God help us all if that was the case. No It is purely determined by your own fantasy and or personal desires. So none can by judged by the title one has decided to wear, nor can respect be merely demanded as such. One must earn the respect and acceptance of their fellows by carrying themselves with respect and honor dignity and a code, not my code per say, but something that defines who they are and what they stand for. Then, they must walk the walk then we as their fellows and as a community must judge them by their actions and by the action alone.

First off, a true Master knows he knows nothing and is always learning and working to better himself and his style his craft. He knows that to close his mind and heart to the lessons of the universe and his fellows is to lose mastery of one self and to fall behind. A true Master cherishes what he has and shows his slave, submissive, or bottom respect and honor in order to gain their submission. A Master who has by his actions and his care has earned the Gift of Submission that the slave submissive or bottom gives with all their heart and soul freely. A True Master knows that in all D&s relationships there must be a time and place of equality between a slave and the master where they can talk freely and connect with each other so that each is having their needs and desires met and to gage how far and what limits may and may not be pushed to an extent. For is not the essence of the word, submission, to freely to submit to another's will? Submission taken any other way is a rape of the soul and a loss of honor to the one calling themselves master.

A man, a Master, a Man does not beat any slave or woman out of anger, never to cause emotional and mental harm. It is not what we do that is abuse pure and simple and you are an abuser and have no place not only in the scene but any place with even the lowest standards you might seek out the underside of an over pass to live out your days with the rest of the scumbags. First you must master yourself before you master anything or anyone. A true Master will not place his submissive at risk just to OOOOO and AHHHH a crowd in a nightclub. A true Master will instead be sure to put his best face forward and convey to outsiders and perhaps players new to the scene how to be safe and at the same time put forth something beautiful, to make their show rock – Safe, Sane, and Consensual. Not to bring disgrace and shame to a scene already looked at with distrust and disgust by many and as a place that abusers hide and suck unwitting victims to their ruin.

Now, you might say, and I know many of you reading this will say, "Oh Ronnie, you're being too harsh. You are placing too high of standard on others and on the Scene. No one can ever reach" Well, yes, fuck yes I am and you should be too if you call your self a Master or any of the many terms we use in this kinky way of life! Strive for it work toward it will any of us be perfect at it hell no but have the courage to try take the action. Unless that is If you are one of the many thinking this is crap and has no base to even be considered, that its not your place or responsibility I want you to think about this as you go out to clubs and as you standby and watch as others put not only their partners at risk but our entire lifestyle at risk, while you do nothing. You are as much a part of the problem as the ones who are committing the offense and should be ashamed of yourselves. God forbid you turn out to be a Dungeon monitor, Or even worse for that matter self proclaimed guardians and protectors of the scene who turns a blind eye because he is your friend or that you're impressed by something they may do. You are even more to blame. Your job and station as a DM is not to be popular, but to safeguard your dungeon area. You are a disgrace. If you had any shame, it should cause you to run and hide your head and never come out again.

I guess my point is this, if you're out and you're a part of this Scene or you think you are; if you dare call yourself Master or Mistress then take a stand! Don't look away and pretend it dose not exist WHEN SHIT IS WRONG! IT IS WRONG PLAN AND SIMPLE! Don't just look away and make excuses or pass it off by saying, "oh well, you know that it is just how so and so is or he/she is good at heart again WRONG IS WRONG. They will never change, so that makes it ok." FUCK THAT! Don't be a fucking pussy! Take a stand and say something! Hell if you are their friend help them learn and grow don't just let it pass what the fuck kind of friend are you if you let or even help them down that path. Take action. It doesn't have to be jumping in and getting directly in between the problem, but use your voice, tell the club promoters what you see and how you feel. Tell them you have performers going on stage fucking loaded out of their minds on booze, drugs, or whatever and are placing not only the ones they are playing with at risk, but the club, the patrons, and the scene itself. Then, if nothing is done, go to another club that obviously cares. Do not go somewhere that does nothing for safety and is not looking out for the scene or your safety, but only looks to exploit the scene and bleed its soul dry till the next new fad comes along. If you're a club promoter take action and take pride in your club do not let it become a breeding ground for unsafe players and Abusers to hide in plan site. Look you want to drink and party and play do it in private and do it within safe limits but if your in the public eye in a club be an adult and stay clear till you go on then do as you wish and use your head.

Anyways I am spent and have nothing left of value to say just know I am me you are you and they are they make up your own freaking and don't life your life as a sheep. We are all reasonable as far as we can make a deference so choose who you are and what you stand for and then walk the line you set for your self. A Winter Wonderland and Good Friends In May

I just have to share this wonderful experience with all of you. Friday day started out hot and on its way to become what seemed like a beautiful summer weekend and just right for hiking and biking. So me and my babiyah jumped into the car and started our drive we stopped at pep boys to get an oil change and well it got cold fast and started to rain a bit so we changed our wiper blades and headed off to arrowhead for the weekend to spend time with our wonderfully kinky love filled family. As we drove up the mountain we encountered heavy fog and zero visibility then just as we got to 4000 feet elevation snow was covering the road way and as we drove closer to our destination more and more snow appeared when we got to the cabin it was covered in thick white snow as was the entire mountain side. It was truly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen I was in aw and amazement at the beauty of the site before my eyes. Nature is one wonderful and strange mistress and just when you think you know what see will bring she shocks us with her majesty and power. As we got out of our car David and Eric greeted us with huge hugs and wonderful kisses and helped us to the cabin with our gear it was a site to see all of us sloshing through the snow and fog to the cabin. When we got inside I am again taken back by the cabins own beauty and power you have to understand this cabin is the most beautiful cabin I have ever seen and was hand crafted and built with so much love by David's grandfathers own hands with great care and love just being in this place was inspiring on its own The roaring fire was warm and inviting mommy was in the kitchen making drinks with Marriah and Jessica in the other room Schno was doing some amazing leather work on the kitchen table so we settled in to our room and then joined everyone down stares. As the night went on the rest of the family started to arrive. Our first night was filled with great conversations and love we all just sat around and soaked in the breath taking views and landscapes and the amazing craftsmanship on the cabin listening to music and getting chilled out with our friends then to bed for a much needed rest. The next day I awoke to the light shining through the cabins windows and the site of fresh snow and smell of coffee made my way down stares and found everyone in my life that I love laughing and enjoying each other company so I went out for a smoke and I could not believe that it got even more beautiful over night. Well I will just say that the rest of that night was simply unbelievably amazing you would have had to been there to understand just how much I love all of my twisted little family let me just say I love and cherish each and every single one of them so very much I can not imagine our lives without them and I am truly blessed for having them all in my life. Sunday was filled with lot and lot of sleep and rest for me and my babiyah after we got up we all watched movies and got chilled out eat good food drank good wine and just plan ol basked in each other warmth and love as we just laughed and laughed and talked for hours. The next day we all helped Mommy and David clean up a bit then we all drove down to the Lake and had lunch at the best Belgium waffle place on the earth. After that we all said our good byes and headed out for home a bit sad to part ways but content and filled with love and joy till we all meet again and blessed for the wonderful mind blowing weekend of love joy warmth and family. Mommy David We all thank you from the bottom our very heart and soul you both are truly amazing and wonderful Sam and I feel so blessed and our lives are better for having you in it Thank you so very much. To the rest of our Family Schno, Merriah, Eric, Jessica, Ryan, Stephanie, Donna, and Rob and Leslie and our newest members of our family Coco and Cream Thank you all each of you have touched our hearts and have become very dear to us and you will always be held in our hearts and in our souls with very deep Love and Respect.
