I think about things I want to get and things I need on a daily basis. "I want a new _____ ", or "I need another _____ ". And the list goes on and on, and yet I don't seem to ever be satisfied. Many times, I circle around my own life as if there's no other human being on earth. But how often do I stop and acknowledge the goodness of God in my life, how much He has given me already? How much do I need and desire His presence in my life? How much do I realize that if it wasn't because of Him I would not be alive today nor would I had the amazing wife and children I love so deeply? If I have God, then goodness dwells within me, and I have a good life. He has given me so much.
Consider the cross...a place of sacrifice and unconditional love. It was there where Jesus showed you and me His unbelievable desire to rescue us from our selfishness and loneliness. He wanted us to enjoy His goodness in ways we never thought possible. "God is good...all the time, and all the time...God is good." We hear this often, but today I want to make this statement my own. God loves you and me. He wants us to enjoy health and wealth, while we serve Him. This is the day for us to open our hearts and receive His promise. This morning His Word is fresh in my life, and it's my prayer that it finds a fertil soil in yours. "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life..." Psalm 23:6(a). Make this promise your very own, as you grow to know His goodness today. God is good...Did I say: good?
