Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
MUCCA PAZZA will be in the state of Michigan on Saturday June 20th to help celebrate 3 of the greatest things in life - Community, Art, and Beer. Come to downtown Grand Rapids for Founder's Fest, the Founders Brewing Company's thank-you party in honor of West Michigan. It starts at 3pm, just in time for beer o'clock. Then stumble down the street to the Division Avenue Arts Cooperative! Besides having the coolest octopus-themed logo that we've ever seen, they are a non-profit group of freaky artists making sure that art and music have a happy home in Grand Rapids.

Hello friends,

We were featured on Chicago Public Radio's 848 yesterday morning! In case you missed it (like some of us did) here's a link:

UnderCover: A Modern Marching Band Takes on Motown

You'll hear an interview, and a bunch of our songs, and finally, our own very ridiculous cover of Stevie Wonder's "All Day Sucker."

Enjoy! And let us know what you think.

Current mood:  fabulous
Mucca Pazza loves the outdoors. Nothin better than taking in the serenity of nature with a nice, painfully loud pair of crash cymbals. I'm pretty sure we've only played doors in Chicago since June.

But then along comes December. No more frolicking in the park, honking in the alleys, dancing in the trees, or oompahpah-ing in a creekbed or whatever, thanks to this frigid weather. Our poor brass players would look like the receiving end of a triple-dog-dare, their faces all stuck to their horns. It just wouldn't do. And yet, we just gotta play!

To that end, we've put together a wonderful night of indoor musical geekery and bliss. This Saturday, December 6th, we're playing with two amazing Chicago crews, Icy Demons and Volcano! (their exclamation, not mine, although I would have probably included one in that sentence! Woo!). Won't you please join us?

Current mood:  excited
Dear former band nerds, aspiring horn players and rockers who wish they could wear a uniform:
Mucca Pazza is hosting a reading band at our rehearsal space on the second Tuesday of every month. Everyone is welcome - beginners, former band nerds and recovering pro's looking to put the joy back. A reading band is exactly that - we read music just like in band class. We improve our reading, our listening and meet other people who look funny and wear glasses.
Bring your instrument, bring music if you have some. We are reading some of the Mucca Pazza tunes and some good ole traditional brass band music that we downloaded from our pals the Brass Liberation Orchestra (they kicked our ass in San Francisco this summer).
Just email mark.messing@gmail.com and you'll get directions to our HQ and a reminder email.
Ready?
Ok.
