Just a quickie to let everyone know how things went at the weekend!

at a rough count we raised somewhere in the region of £900 from the events, we counted about £830ish on Sunday night after the gig (bit pissed tho so hopefully we've not got that wrong! LoL) But i've still to pass on the gig takings and the charity tins to the Chairman, I should see him tomorrow all being well,  so i'll get a final total by the end of the week

A big thanks to EVERYONE who came along and made it a great 2 days and to all the bands as always, for putting on such great performances!

Apologies for the delays on Saturday, things didnt get off to a great start with some of the gear turing up late and people (not bands!) letting me down at the last minute adding to the stress of the day

With that my humblest apologies go out to THE THREATS

things were running so late they guys just couldnt wait around any longer to play their set, of all the people i let down i'm just gutted it had to be them as they have been a great help to me in previous years

Our thoughts are with Trogg and the guys from Contempt - so many people were saddned to hear of Troggs illness and have asked me to pass on their wishes to the guys

The venue owners were brilliant! They had loads of hassle in regards to late license application and police popping in and out, mainly on Sat tyring to get the gig shut down cos people were jumping around? Eh?!!!

so as always NO thanks whatsoever to Strathclyde's finest(?)!!!

next years gigs are already booked, we're back at The Attic on Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd May and i've already got some ideas of bands i want to play

The highlights of the weekend, for me anyway, was getting to meet the guys from Active Slaughter and finally seeing them play! Great bunch of guys and top band!

Jessie, Eastfiled, for doing his solo set on Sunday - Brilliant stuff

and of course, The Happy Spastics! It's truly great to see the guys back in action!

Thanks to Paddy for filming the gig, just hope he wasnt too drunk and ended up getting some nice footage of the floor!  hehee

Ellen for her sterling work at the door and again to Ellen and Baz for putting us up over the weekend and for the lovely cheese and onion toasties for breakfast!

Marie and Nicola for the smooth running of the tambola stall and the help recieved from Marie and Cinders in the run up to the gig!

The guys from Defiant Pose for helping me out at such short notice on Sunday with Amps and stuff .. a top bunch of guys and a great set so 3 cheers for them!!!

Watty and the chaps from Constant Fear for helping me out yet again!

Scalesy from Afterbirth and Keela for selling various Tshirts, LPs n stuff that they've been gathering over the years and donating the money from that to the Charity! Apprecaited!

There's probably a few more folk i should be thanking at the moment but as per, my memory isnt at its best, I actually feel worse today than i did at any time over the weekend?  - i think lots of lager and very little sleep is actually kinda good for you cos i was fine Sunday and yesterday? LoL

anyway - i've got loads to do in the aftermath of the gigs so i'll catch up with you all sometime soon

it’s nearly that time of year again when we mark the anniversary of the Chernboyl Nuclear Disaster & raise funds for those affected in the aftermath via Chernobyl Children Lifeline UK Reg: 1014274

26th April 2008 marks the 23rd anniversary & we’ll remember it with punktastic 3 events!

the 1st gig take place on Sat 26th April at The Attic in Glasgow, it’s a benefit fun night ’Punk Stars In Yer Eyes’ based loosely on that crap TV show where members of the public impersonate their favourite music personality - so if you see yerself as the spitting image of Johnny Rotten or just wanna tell the world that Gordon is a moron then get yerself on the contestant line-up & have your chance to win some money in the process

Photobucket

The the following weekend Sat 3rd AND Sun 4th May we have 2 days of punk featuring 28 GREAT bands from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England & Belgium and if thats not enough there’s loads of punk goodies up for grabs in the tambola/raffle

Over the past 2 years we’ve had the great pleasure of hosting 6 boys over 3 respite holidays from Belarus via Chernobyl Children Lifeline UK reg: 1014274

Sadly, we won’t be able to do this again for the forseeable future due to concerns with both our elderly parents health, not to mention the fact  that we seem to be constantly skint this year!

But the charity will still have our support & i’ll continue to help out where I can & continue on with the gigs to help raise much needed funds for the great work they do

If you wanna know more about our time hosting & a wee bit more of what i’m about & upcoming events, money raised  etc... check out

who wants to take part in a 5 mile sponsered walk (in fancy dress no less!!) on Sat 21st July..??

WE DONT NEED FANCY DRESS - PUNKS COME AS YOU ARE!!!

5 mile sponsored walk starting at Aldi's, Saltcoats & finishing at The Waterside Inn, Seamill

i dont have any details, eg: start/finish times & it will be weather permitting, a wee bit o drizzle is ok but you don't wanna be walking along the seafront in the pissing rain & gale force winds!!

It's gonna take place during the next scheduled kids visit from Belarus, so they'll be a group of 20 kids on respite holiday from the charity & all us host families - BUT WE NEED MORE HELP!!

it will be a great oppurtunity for you to meet folks from the charity & the kids whilst they're here, you'll get to see what all the fuss is about & why i think it to be a really worthy charity & why hosting is a worthwhile experience (even tho i could happily choke the little cherubs from time to time - acht, they're just typical kids at the end of the day!! lol)

the charity needs all the publicity it can get to help them raise money & find more host families etc .. so no doubt the local press will be there

COME ON!! get involved - bring the family, friends, yer dogs(s), kids  etc.. and if you cant manage the walk personally then you can always sponsor me via the online form below

altogether we managed to raise a grand total of ....

£935.50 for Chernobyl Children Lifeline!! UK Reg: 1014274

- not a bad amount at all!!

then there's a further 28p gift aid to be added for every pound raised (approx £261.80 if i've calculated it right! lol) - so that should bring it to something like ....

£1197.30 !!!

all in all another great couple of gigs!!!

THANKS to one & all for their support & coming along to the gig(s)

and a BIG THANKS to ALL the bands for such great performances

and not forgetting a BIG THANKS to all those generous souls out there who donated various punk goodies & booze for the raffle!

Just a wee update on the CD sales

To date (13/5/07), £84 has been raised through the sale of the CD that i put together following the 1st annual Remember Chernobyl Punk All Dayer benefit for Chernobyl Children Lifeline (reg, charity 1014274)

It's a shit hot CD (even if i do say so myself) feauring 25 tracks from 13 bands involved in the initial gig to mark the 20th anniversary of the worlds worst nuclear disaster

They're available for £5 including P&p in the UK, £6 Europe, £7 everywhere else - or if you see me in person at a gig or somit it'll cost ye £4

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It's a 'tradition' that I hope to keep going following future gigs

buy it online on my myspace profile or click the picture above to go to me website & help raise more funds for a worthy charity!!

NON PROFIT: all materials are paid for out of my own pocket so ALL the money raised goes direct to the charity !

2 days of punk! (well, a day & a half to be honest!)

This year's all dayer will take place at Rockers, Midland St Glasgow on SUNDAY 6th MAY - midday till late - £10 at the door

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

it's a cracking line-up & they'll be a raffle on the night with some more great prizes up for grabs.

so don't miss out, no excuses, it's the May Day Bank Holiday weekend - so get yer arse along!!

my original plan was to have a 2 day event, but alas, Glasgow is pretty crap for decent venues; they're either too expensive or too small (or in some cases both!)

BUT, things are looking up & a few good wee pubs/venues are opening their doors to the punk scene & dissing the whole 'pay to play' crap which is killing off our gigs !!

SO, on SAT 5th MAY I've organised a wee (free) punk gig, aplty named (I thought?) The Chernobyl Meltdown, just to get us in the mood

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It'll be held in The Spirit Bar, London Rd (Trongate) Glasgow & the beers cheap as chips!! (incidently there's a great wee chippy right next door!!)

The gig is free entry but there will be a charity can at the door, not asking for a fortune here, a couple o' bob will be fine (& if ye's don't i'll be following you stingy folk around wi the can aw night! haha)

it's all for a great cause

Chernobyl Children Lifeline

reg charity no: 1014274

non profit!! ALL money raised from these events goes straight to the charity!

BANDS: No ego's please!

Sorry but I mean this in the nicest possible way but needs to be said from experience about grief i recieved from a couple of folk when organising last years event (no names mentioned, but some of you know who i refer to!)

I'm not a promoter: I'm just a wee lass who puts on a gig for charity, i enjoy doing it & don't appreciate getting grief from folk for no real reason. I don't profit from it & it costs me money from my own pocket to put it on.

I'm not out to rip anyone off, I'll help out where i can, and i'll always try to be fair, honest & upfront with all involved. I want everyone to enjoy the day & lets face it if it wasn't for the bands there would be no gig!

This is a fundraising event NOT a competition - I have no patience to deal with individuals/bands who think they're better than the next one & reckon they deserve prime/headling slots & all that kinda nonsense!

The gig is an ALL DAY EVENT which means bands are needed to play throughout the day - timeslots are based on a number of factors, NOT on what band reckons they deserve what (unless of course your band has managed to sell out a major gig on reputatuion alone but then I most likely won't get any of those bands cos they'll no play fundraisers for expenses alone & will want bucketloads of cash which I aint got).

Again, sorry but no offence is intended to anyone in particular, I simply dont have the time to deal with & can't be arsed wi aw that crap in the first place - if you feel your band is far too important to play such an event then i'm no interested

This event is about Punks coming together to recongise an important day - The Anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster - have a jolly good time drinking lashings of beer whilst listening to some dam good punk music & raise money for a worthy cause in the process

 NOTHING ELSE !!!

hi folks...

sorry its took me so long to get round to this but i've been mega busy the past few weeks.

Been hosting another 2 boys from Belarus via the Chernobyl Childline Charity Reg Charity No: 1014274

they went home last Wed, 23rd Aug (thankfully - lol) then it was straight back to work for me whilst still trying vain to get me house back to some sort of normality, not to mention the odd night's (purely medicinal, stress relief) drinking since the kids left!

OOOoo!! and my wee cat had kittens just the other day! Aaaw!! they GORG!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

and loads of other folks for their donations - sorry i cant name & shame you personally, but in my defence a load fo stuff arrived whilst i had sneaked off to see one of my fav bands - The BUs Station Loonies & my hubby (doh!) didnt bloody ask who gave what so therefore i dont know! bloody men!!!

There's prob other folks i should be naming but my memory is shite at the best of times so apologies - but if i remember (or you can save me the brain strian & remind me yourself) I'll add you to it!

so thanks again for all the support out there - it is a worthy charity who's work goes fairly unheard of most of the time

I'll update me website hopefully with info on this & the 2 boys who we've just hosted over the next week or so

cheers
