Like we said in our latest blog a mere 2 weeks ago we had some great
stuff coming up. Although we can’t show you this great stuff yet we
will let you know what this great stuff will be We
are recording a video for our song Awakening taken from our first demo
“Retrolution”. Like everything we did so far the video is completely
“DIY” and since it’s way cool to be a DIY band nowadays this means that
we are extremely cool and awesome! All shots we did were done by the
bandmembers so we had to be creative sometimes (like Jeff holding a
camera while he’s lying on the hood of a driving car). There are some
takes left to shoot so there’s no release date yet but we’ll keep you
posted! Some more great stuff: yesterday we were in the
IJlandstudio’s in Amsterdam to record two tracks. The recordings went
pretty smooth and after a LONG day of coffee, pizza and screaming we
went home with some amazing material! The tracks will be mixed in the
upcoming weeks so look forward for some heavy shit. Unfortunately the
recordings weren’t entirely DIY because we don’t own a studio, sorry... Right
now we’re working on some new songs and hopefully one of these songs
will be finished this week so we can play it during our N201 gig in
Aalsmeer this Friday. But no promises here! Speaking of this Friday,
the other band we’ll be playing with is Hylash. A young Dutch metalcore
band so expect some headbashing music on the 23rd! Hylash will get
onstage around 10PM and we’ll be shredding around 11PM so make sure
you’ll be there! Last but not least, tonight (the 19th) a
compilation of the “nieuwjaarsbeuk” festival will be broadcasted on the
radio from 10pm ‘till midnight. You can listen to it through
www.metalchapter.nl (in Dutch). We haven’t heard anything yet from the
show but it promises to be one hell of a radioshow tonight!

First of all, happy new year!
Second, we can tell you guys that 2009 will be a great year for Polydrone. Some things we won’t mention right now just because we don’t have to and to keep ya’ll waiting in anxiety. But, some things we will share:
Even before all the food of the holidays was digested we played our very first gig last Saturday on the Nieuwjaarsbeuk Festival in de Gonz in Gouda. Although we have experience with former bands it’s always exciting to get on stage for the first time with a new band. You never know how the crowd will respond but we can proudly tell you guys that the responses were very positive! The festival was organized by the Metal Chapter, the radio show where we played live in the studio last month, which means that some highlights from the festival will be broadcasted on the radio on January 19th between 22.00hr and 24.00hr (10pm and 12pm). You can listen to it through their website: www.metalchapter.nl You can also find some images from last Saturday on this website.
We have 2 more shows for you this January. The first one is on Friday the 23rd in the N201 in Aalsmeer. There is no entry fee, so more money to spend on beer! There will be one more band but it’s not yet confirmed which band that will be. The 2nd show is on Friday the 30th in the Starsound Studio’s in Utrecht. We’re chosen to compete for “het geheim van Starsound” where we can win some studiotime.
We have received some reviews from our demo “Retrolution” and all (except one) are extremely positive so we are very excited about this! It’s awesome to see that the responses are so positive for “Retrolution” which is recorded in such a small period of time after only a few jamsessions. You can read some (Dutch) quotes from those reviews on our MySpace homepage.
As mentioned above, there are some other awesome things we want to share but for now this is all you get! So keep checking our MySpace and hopefully we’ll be seeing you during one of our upcoming gigs.

Tomorrow morning we are in the studio for our recordings for the Metal Chapter broadcast this Monday. This 2 hour live radio show will contain an interview, probably lot's of lameness from our side and 7 songs we play live in the studio. Be sure to tune in on the show on Monday from 22:00 'till 24:00 (10pm/12pm)! You can listen worldwide through the Metal Chapter website (show is in Dutch!) @ www.metalchapter.nl Some more radio news: 3FM (Dutch national radio) has started their annual "serious request" to collect money for the Red Cross. This year the subject is to help all refugees around the world. You can help us and all those refugees by donating money for our song "Free Transformation". If we collect enough money our song will be broadcasted on national radio so this way you'll help us get airplay AND you will go to heaven for helping all those poor refugees! There's no downside on this, because every euro you spend will go directly to this good cause! Click here to donate and for more information

You might have noticed that our MySpace is a little altered so now you can see our pretty faces. We’ve also added the images of the photoshoot to our profile so check them out!
And besides the images, you can also see our pretty faces on stage! we have our very first gig confirmed on January 3rd in Gouda so the year starts with a blast. Metal Chapter, which is the radio show where we’ll be playing live in the studio in December, is also organizing a festival in ”De Gonz” in Gouda and asked us to play with 4 other bands. Check the gigs for more information.
Last Friday we received the demo’s which is awesomeness in it’s complete form so from now on you can have our music stalled in your cd rack for ever! Like we said in an update a few weeks back they are available during shows for free (limited) or when you walk into us in on the streets (you can recognize us by the images on our MySpace :P ).

Although we’re not quiet ready to hit the stage yet, we do have a lot to tell you guys! First of all our demo “retrolution” is being pressed as we speak and will be ready at the beginning of November. We will let you know when they’re available. Unfortunately Alex and Tim are not present on “retrolution” but we can assure you that they are a perfect addition to the band! The new songs are awesome and we’re so happy that we’re a complete band now! Everything is working out perfectly so we really can’t wait to get on stage! In September our song "Awakening" had it’s first airplay! Simon Oskam who is hosting the metal radio show “Metalchapter” really liked our demo and added Awakening to his playlist. We are now invited to play live in his show on December 15th which we think is pretty awesome :) During this 2 hour live show (which will be recorded on December 13th) we will be in the studio for an interview and play a mini gig. Last weekend we had our very first official photoshoot by photographer Eric Geveart. Right now we’re browsing through the 700+ images he shot that day which is a hell of a job! We had a little too much fun so hopefully there’ll be some images where we actually look like those real tough metal people. Here’s a little dumpnail of what kind of crap we had to deal with during this shit: That's it for now, we'll keep y'all posted! Polydrone

We've got some great news: Wouter has cut off his hair for the first time in 15 years! Oh wait, we actually do have some real news: After 3 months (!) of auditioning a variety of guitar and bass-players, Polydrone is complete for the first time since they started last year. After Tim was added to the band as our bass player, Alex Wortmann is now the additional guitarist we were looking for! He's not that experienced yet but we really have high hopes for him. His audition was practically flawless, he has the same interests as we all have, he's got a broad taste in metal and after his study he can build private jets and even space ships so we can not only conquer the world, but the whole universe Moehahaha *fades…* Yesterday was the first time we rehearsed with Alex and it felt great! The atmosphere was awesome and we're so happy that everything works out the way it does. Some words from Alex: "I've always liked rock music since I started playing the guitar. Around 5 years ago I got introduced into the metal scene and I started playing the guitar a little more seriously because this kind of music was faster and harder than I was familiar with. I don't have that much experience in playing in a band so I was looking for a band who could help me getting the experience I needed. After auditioning for different bands where I didn't feel any chemistry, Polydrone gave me the right feeling from the first time I contacted them. They played the music I was looking for, they're great guys and very motivated. I'm glad they chose me and I really can't wait to start rockin'!" Oh, and did we tell you that this guy is huge? Right now we're writing new material and are working hard on getting the music as tight as a baby's bottom so we can hit that stage asap! The biography is updated and we're working on the website as we speak. We're also negotiating with different printers so we can get that demo out in the open. They will be used for promotional uses only so they're not for sale, BUT since we know the Dutch audience, they will be available FOR FREE at our own shows in the near future. We're also working on a photo shoot in the upcoming weeks so hopefully we can show you our pretty faces soon! That's it for now, we'll keep you posted! Polydrone

Current mood: excited
After some auditions and sadly had to turn down some good candidates we found the perfect bass-player for us! Tim Hoogervorst He has a lot of experience in different styles of music which is just perfect for us since we're trying to implement different styles in our music and we have a broad musical taste of our own. His main style is hardcore / metalcore. Here are some words from Tim: Music: from the cradle to the grave Growing up with music everywhere, I find my way through this world. Learning about the bassguitar from my brother at an age of 14. Playing in bands with different styles: pop, rock, metalcore and grunge made me a person who respected more and more styles. I kept on crossing boundaries to music which I didn't know so well. I came up to play in a rock 'n roll band with some blues influences. But when I played in three bands and had no shows, it seemed to me that there had to be more… The time has come for me to search for new challenges. I mailed with a few metalbands, which was the music I always listened a lot. One of them was Polydrone. And after seven years of bassplaying, I finally found a band that completely connects to my desire…
