Current mood:  sad

Apologies that our first blog entry is a melancholic one, but it is definitely needed. Our good friend Liss passed away last weekend and we felt that it was needed for us to take a moment to remember her amazing spirit and welcoming nature. Many had wonderful things to say about her, and one common mention was that Liss was always the first to welcome someone new to the boards...including me, when I first joined. I know that there's a lot of sadness and disbelief surrounding the loss of such an incredible friend, but let us all comfort each other and get through this as what we are -- a family.

Here's a post from Jeanna from earlier this week...

A friend and LOBHer died on Sunday. Liss (LovesThem! on the boards) was 17 years old and one of those people who everyone just loved. She was so full of life and insight, someone who loved God completely and constantly challenged you to think differently.
She's been our friend for a long time... since before the beginning of the site... she's even member 14 on the boards. Words can't express how much we'll miss her.
We love you Liss.

A 17-year-old Frackville girl is dead and her father is in critical condition following a head-on crash that injured three others along Interstate 81 in Lebanon County at 9:10 p.m. Sunday.
Mellisa Fogel, 17, of Frackville, died at the scene of her injuries, state police said. The Mazda MPV in which she was a passenger was struck head-on by a pickup truck going the wrong way in the northbound lanes of I-81, police said.
The pickup truck was driven by Joseph G. Heil, 56, of Pine Grove, police said. He is in critical condition in Hershey Medical Center.
Driving the Mazda was Edward Fogel, 58, of Frackville, who is also in critical condition in the medical center. Two female passengers, age 9 and 12, had injuries described as serious by police. Their names were not released by police, and their injuries were not believed to be life-threatending, said Cpl. George Peach of Jonestown state police.
Peach said it is "suspected, but not confirmed," that Heil may have been under the influence of alcohol. Toxicology testing is being done.
Police believe he entered I-81 going the wrong direction at exit 90, although no one saw him get on, Peach said.
Mellisa Fogel was pronounced dead at 10:38 p.m., police said.
Police closed the highway, between exits 85 and 90, for about four hours while they investigated the accident.

YESTERDAYS
Flowers cut and brought inside
Black cars in a single line
Your family in suits and ties
And you're free

The ache I feel inside
Is where the life has left your eyes
I'm alone for our last goodbye
But you're free

I remember you like yesterday, yesterday
I still can't believe you're gone, oh...
I remember you like yesterday, yesterday
And until I'm with you, I'll carry on

Adrift on your ocean floor
I feel weightless, numb, and sore
A part of you in me is torn
And you're free

I woke from a dream last night
I dreamt that you were by my side
Reminding me I still had life
In me

I remember you like yesterday, yesterday
I still can't believe you're gone, oh...
I remember you like yesterday, yesterday
And until I'm with you, I'll carry on
I'll carry on

Every lament is a love song
Yesterday, yesterday
I still can't believe you're gone
Every lament is a love song
Yesterday, yesterday
So long my friend, so long
