Tim, Tim, Tim Mader-Brown has been a friend of mine for a while, and he posted an interview on his blog.  Check it and wreck it at the same time.

"For fans of supreme lyrical quality, Adam Svec will scratch that itch
and then scratch some more.  Also the lead of Minneapolis outfit The Glad Version, this is Svec’s singer-songwriter debut.   His style evokes the fine-tuned qualities of Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie),
but has a sound entirely unique.  Svec’s incredible vocal range is
machted perfectly with all kinds of uncanny lament eked out of his
sparse guitar.   It truly works, and magnificently so.   His  mix of
testimony and tales is captivating, personal stuff.  Perhaps a little
sad, but the kind of sad that feels oh so good…  Definitely something
that will be coming out of my stereo as I get through another winter in
the city." - Josh Becknell

Thanks to Andrew and Michael for setting this up.  I think the show went pretty well.

Band of Annuals

If you like Whiskeytown/Ryan Adams, then you'll love "Band of Annuals" (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=4136217)
Hailing from the great state of Utah, Band of Annuals bring the autumn somber swing that the pretty good state of MN needs this time of year.  I don't know exactly what time I'm playing yet, but it will happen before the break of dawn... I promise.

1)  On Friday morning, Dale Connelly and Jim Ed Poole played "747″ on MPR's Morning Show (http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/programs/morning_show/).  I landed a spot between Lucinda Williams and Peter, Paul, & Mary.

2)  I found out last week that both "Make Islands" and "Enemy Swimmer" are going to be added to the special collections series at Preus Library (Luther College) courtesy of Rene Donlan.  It is quite an honor to be added to the circulation of my alma mater, and I'd like to thank Rene tremendously for this great surprise.
