I've just read 21 pages of comments in the last three days from around the NBA about how the Timberwolves are shopping Kevin Garnett, and that a deal with the Celtics is imminent, and that their is a Trade with the Knicks, or the Lakers in the works...

First of all, they are trying to get a price check on their superstar... teams do it all the time.

Second, if the Wolves were to trade KG to Boston, Timberwolves fans would burn down the Target Center, and McHale would need a lot of security.  Plus KG would opt out of his contract after the end of the season.  He hates Wally Szerbziak, and why would he want to be traded to a team that is worse than the Timberwolves is a pussy division like the East... ANYWHERE in the east is a pussy team, except for Chicago, Detroit, or Miami... finally on that one... For Boston to match sallaries with the Wolves, Minnesota would have to take on 5 players and get at least 1 if not 2-3 first round picks.  The Wolves have 12 players besides Garnett already under contract, and they have two draft picks.  HMMM  Doesn't add up to me.

3rd, The Knicks?  You are on fucking crack!  The Wolves just got rid of a headache headcase Point Guard/ that plays like a bad shooting guard... so there is no chance they'd go after Francis.  I even read Marburry, and Frye for KG...  Jesus wept, Marburry wouldn't be welcomed back here unless he went to center court of the Target Center, and begged us in tears to forgive him for the way he treated Minnesota, The Timberwolves, and Kevin Garnett by being a little piece of shit bitch, and demanding a trade.  Again, I see bush getting elected as supreme dictator of the world before that happened, and I think 100 countries in the world would nuke us before allowing that... hopefully including the USA nuking our own selves!

4th, The Lakers only have one person that they could trade to get KG, and I don't think they would trade Kobe for KG.

Odom is hurt, and again it would take 5-6 players (who don't have a lot of talent to begin with) to equal the dollars without Kobe.  So LA, go back to the cocaine, and wait for the state to sink in the ocean... because it's not going to happen.

5th.  There are 3 teams that could possibly get KG if the Wolves were looking to trade him... maybe 2 others, but that would be ridiculous.

1- Phoenix -  Stoudmire, or Marion plus Diow, and Tim Thomas for KG and Troy Hudson.  Why would Phoenix want to do that?

2- Golden State... 3 1st round picks 2 this year, and 1 in 2010, plus 2 expiring contracts, Richardson, and maybe another player.  Why would Golden State trade all of that?

3- (most likely if it were to happen)  Chicago.  Ben Gordon, Hinrich, Ty Thomas, and Deng for KG.  Chicago is filled with stupid sports teams...  Kenny Williams of the White Sox rivals McHale for stupidity at times.  The Cubs are the worst franchise in professional sports... the loveable losers can't even be loved anymore with Soriano, Pinella, and spending 240 million dollars in the offseason... I see hating them like the Red Sox or Yankees as a religious duty now.  And the Bears who are possibly trading their second best linebacker, they have the 2nd worst Quarterback in the NFL, and make it to the playoffs by default because other teams are worse, not that they are all that good!  Heck the Vikings almost beat them TWICE last season, and the Vikes are fucking terrible.

4-  Dallas... but they'd have to give up A LOT.  Howard, Dampier, Terry, and 2-3 1st round pics over the next 5 years. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT????

5-  Seattle  They would have to trade the 2nd pick which would be Kevin Durant, Rashard Lewis, and Danny Fortson, and Ridnaur.

Trenton Hassell, Rickey Davis, and a 1st round pick in 2011 (They owe picks to the Celtics and Clippers in the next 3 years) for Joel Prizbilla and Zach Randolph with the Trailblazers

Rickey Davis, Troy Hudson and Craig Smith for Andre Kirilinko (who hates being in Utah, and is hated by Sloan).

Is this the first sign of good things to come, or is this another case of a stopped clock being right twice a day? For some reason the old saying about the sun shining on a sleeping dog's ass or something like that seems to come to mind (I know the phrase it just seemed like a nice little slam on kevin mchale's (mcfailed miserably or mcfuckhead is how he will be referred to from this point on in the blog) only competition for the biggest idiot in a place of prominent power... george bush. I can only hope and pray that mcfailed-miserably never runs for office.

Mcfuckhead made a trade that actually looks like it's beneficial to the Timberwolves which is something he has not done since acquiring Latrell Spreewell, and even that came back to bite most of Minnesota in the ass. Spreewell is to the word asshole as mcfuckhead is to incompetence.

By trading away Mike James who is a bottom dwelling under achiever of world class proportions. 20 points, and 6 assists a game for a last place team like Toronto.. They let him go as a free agent, and they go to the playoffs. The Timberwolves sign this malignant point guard right after a very questionable draft day trade... Drafting Brandon Roy who became the NBA Rookie Of The Year, and then trading him for Point Guard Randy Foye. Just a question, if you already have two point guards on your roster that are locked in for 4 years (at the time) why do you trade for a point guard, and then sign a point guard for 4 years in free agency?

So they finally start making some sense, and trade Mike James, and Justin Reed who was a 12th man kind of player who they signed to a 4 year contract last year... for Juwan Howard who is a 34 year old SF from Houston.

What they gave up? An underachiever, and malcontent in James who was making 5.6, 6.1, and 6.5 million for the next 3 seasons, and Reed who was signed for 1.4 and 1.6 for the next two years.

What the Timberwolves gained. 34 year old former fab-5 small forward Juwan Howard who brings 13 years of NBA, and (that fab-5 team might have been considered a pro team as well with all that hype.) He will add class, and calm to a locker room that lacked chemistry. He brings a workman approach, and in his own words stated that he is finally righting a wrong when he felt he should have signed with the Timberwolves in 2003. It also is a 2 year contract so they can free up two roster spaces, and 7.5 million off of their roster in 09/10.

This isn't much more than a baby step to get them out of trouble, but it is more than that because Howard brings a professional presence on, and off the court which will help with the huge chemistry problem, and it brings Kevin Garnett what he wants in a big man with veteran leadership. It's not enough though.

I would like to see them still trade at least two of the following Rickey Davis, Trenton Hassell, Troy Hudson, and Mark Blount in 2-1 trades for big contracts that are short term.

Right now with wishful thinking from the draft...(and well within the point of reason). I hope they draft Julian Wright or Hoakim Noah in the first, and can get Aaron Gray in the 2nd.

List 5 people that you believe should be in the hall of fame for their sport, but are not, and why.

 

BASEBALL

1.  Shoeless Joe Jackson  one of the greatest hitters ever, and 100 years is fast approaching, and that is sacrilgious... Ty Cobb pistol whipped a fan to death, and blackmailed Landis into not touching him...  he was a racist piece of shit, and he's in the hall, Shoeless Joe didn't deserve a lifetime ban.

2.  Pete Rose  all time hits leader... they found out he bet on baseball as a manager... not as a player... against the rules of major league baseball, not in the rules for the Hall of Fame, so not sure why they can keep him off the ballot.

3.  Bert Blyleven  The most wins, most strikeouts, most shutouts, complete games not in the hall of fame, and two world series rings, an ERA title, and two 20 game win seasons.  He also had the best curveball of his era.  He was 20 times the pitcher that Don Sutton was... he just never played for a Dodgers or Yankees.

4.  Jim Rice  The best American League hitter of his era... this guy put up steroids numbers when they played in bigger parks, and had better pitching. two time MVP, 350 homers, 1500 RBI.. this guy was the definition of FEARED.

5.  Dave Parker  The most underrated superstar in baseball history.  This guy was a multiple season All Star, and top MVP candidate, stole 20 bases, hit 20 homers, drove in 100 runs, hit 30 doubles, and over 300 most of his career.  He finished with amazing numbers, and he was a great fielding right fielder.

Football

1.  Art Monk  retired as the all time leader in TDs, and Receptions, 3 super bowl titles in 4 tries.

2.  Randall McDaniel  quite simply the best guard that ever played football, and the best human being that ever played offensive line... the kind of guy that you tell your kids to grow up and be like.  He retired, and became a teacher.  He makes 30K a year as a teacher, and he was able to play anotehr 2-3 years... but would rather help children... just an outstanding citizen and a pro bowl player every year of his career.

3.  Christian Okoye  This guy was a monster without an offensive line.  Imagine trying to tackle a small pickup truck.  This guy was bigger, stronger, and faster than most defensive players are today, and he played 15 years ago...

4.  Derrick Thomas  most sacks in a game, lead the AFC in sacks multiple times, arguably the second best pass rushing linebacker in his era to the best that ever played in Lawernce Taylor.  He died tragically, and stood for everything that is wonderful about the NFL.

5.  Kenny Easley  Think of Ronnie Lott without championship rings. This guy hit you like he had steal shoulder pads.  He could pick you off, he could hit you so hard your mom cried, and he ws stuck on crappy teams before Free Agency was a factor.

Basketball

no one that I can think of.  Honestly, I think they do the best job of all the selection committees outside of Golf which is a numbers game strictly.

And I don't know or care anything about Soccer, Hockey, or Nascar... so you will have to educate me.

This blog contains offensive behavior by Major League Baseball, NEW ERA hats, and foul language from me probably... but what would you do if they turned your cross into lime green bracelet?  What would you business owners do if they mandated that your workers work 36 hours, and were paid for 44.  This is the kind of outrage that the world should have at the cover story for www.usatoday.com/baseball  main page. 

 

I'm trying to deal with the fact that I'm a purist.  A baseball cap has been made out of wool, and it has been fitted for the best possible hat for years and years and years...

Now they have these new piss-assed princess hats that are part stupid, part dew rag (which is only acceptable on the basket ball courts where a cap can block your range of vision), and they are charging 28 dollars a piece for these new one size fits all pieces of dog shit, and filth. 

This isn't the only problem... first David Stern goes and kisses the asses of the environmentalists and pisses all over his sport with a new basketball that no one liked except some Vegan wearing a brownish white t-shirt, and smelling strongly of body odor, and bad breath that took his kid that grew up on peanut oil, peanut butter, and tree bark to a basketball game, and left in a huff when he found out that the ball had been made out of leather for the last FUCKING FOREVER!

Now these caps... and in the regular season they are going from the traditional wool caps to these new 100 % polyester hats, and the saddest part is that they are more expensive than normal hats, and they supposedly wick up the sweat inside as apposed to leaving that brown stained rim around the hat.

A polyester hat?  Why not a jump suit, with a fuck me flap on the back?  Jesus, I'm going to get in trouble for this blog, but this pisses me off.

This isn't going from black and white tv to HDTV.   This isn't going from 120% humidity in July to 75 and central air.  This is a religious relic being changed for the sake of the almighty dollar.

I saw these hats at LIDS in the Mall of America, and I flat out asked them if they lost their license with New Era, and MLB, and what was up with the shiny hats without sizes?  They said that they were all changed.

I couldn't believe him... he had his nose pierced in three spots, and lip piercings on both lips... that's not a baseball expert... so I went online...  no luck unless I got to that great big fleamarket in cyber space Ebay.  On Ebay you can buy the Ark of hte Covenant, and the Mona Lisa... The only thing you can't buy on Ebay is a clue for George Bush.  That moron is hopeless.

So back to the point at hand... screwing around with my sacred religious icon... the traditional baseball cap.  My size is 7 & 5/8ths.  Any man worth his salt knows his cap size.  You see poor men with rulers judging their masculinity, well kids... it's cap size not cock size that makes the man... and it's not a matter of how big, or small... it's matter of knowing that number so you go in and buy a cap, and you get the one that makes you look good.  It's the difference between going to Brooks Brothers for a suit, or going to Sears. 

the little button hats from when you were 9?  Come on people... get real...  The hats with the little gold flast on the back to stretch, or shrink looks cool on a woman with long curly blonde hair, but if I ever saw Robin Yount, or Roger Clemens wearing such a thing I'd puke in my mouth.

This is not a homophobic statement either,  I think that my Gay and Lesbian friends will back me up that this isn't that, this is just me pissed off about the sissification, and the bastardization of something I love as much as most people love the fact that they breathe every day.

Why not put a pink dress on Quarterbacks, and make sure that every lead guitarist looks like that idiot from Poison, and the marlbro man has to wear a Mir. Rogers Cardigan sweater, and smell of cigarettes and whiskey.

One size does not fit all!  And as much as my mom, and my wife will rejoice at the fact that these new caps won't have the sweat stains in them... any man that looks forward to this has never sweat on the field on a 90 degree day, and at the end of the season looked at that hat as a testamony of their faith, belief, and love of their job, of their passion, of their very soul. 

Nope, rest assured the idiot that came up with this was playing Dungeons and Dragons ins mom's basement.  This is the guy that wanted to sleep with your quarterback's girlfriend, but didn't have the courage to even ask out the girl across the street.  He was too busy collecting butterfly wings, and different types of bugs, and pything them onto a plaqueboard to hang on his wall... and when you go to his mom and dad's a few rotting corpses still remain 20 years later though most have turned to dust... they pythy little pins still remain as a testemant to the geekiness of the bastard that is trying to turn a beautiful testamony of work, play, and passion.
