Thank you all for your sweet and powerful thoughts and prayers for this fine young man. I grieve now for him and for his dear family who did all they could to ensure he lived a happy and full life in his short time. I can not hold back the tears now, but wish to share the announcement from his Aunt Pam.
In Loving Memory of Rayce Canyon July 2, 2009 Rayce Cannon passed away this afternoon in Seattle Washington, he was four months short of his fifth birthday. He passed away at Seattle Children's Hospital with his parents at his side. Rayce loved life and was a sweet little boy. He lived his short life to the fullest and he loved everyone. He will be missed greatly by the family he left behind. His life though short was filled with love and hope he had people praying and pulling for him from around the world, he had so many friends he never met and so much love it over flowed at his little feet. He had a smile that lit up your heart and he loved to have fun. Remember him always and know he is not suffering any more but at peace with God waiting for us to join him one day. We will long for his laughter and his smile and remember that he came our way for a short while. Goodbye sweet boy I love you. Love (Auntie ) Pam

After reading the HOLLY 13's Blog about the passing of Farrah Fawcett, I felt compelled to write a short comment. When one starts on such a topic, one thinks on the surface but when that experience hits close to home, when a word or phrase hits the brain just right, well the sentence turns personal and expands to four paragraphs.
I'm reposting my comment here not because I have succumb to hype, for the blog was not about hype, but because I recognise my place in this context. Perhaps that is why I can't help being a Goth, because it's not IF you die, it's WHEN you die and we all face that for a first time. THIS was my first experience with a very, very close death. If you would like to read HOLLY 13's Blog "Farrah Fawcett dies: the spiritual sense of our personal connections", here is the link: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=216902010&blogId=496968382MY COMMENT I felt so much sympathy for Farrah Fawcett and that was directly connected with my grandmother's ordeal with colon cancer. I was an pre-ager when my grandmother came to live her last two years with us. Strong, determined, and stubborn was how she came but it didn't take long for her condition to slip. That was when my mother and I began our 1.5 years of caring for her in every way.
At first it was internal, a thing you didn't see but the doctors told you was there. Then, one day you wake up and find that your loved one is "showing on the outside". That's when it hits you that you are caring for someone who will die, no matter what you do, and that the kindest thing you can give is love, company, comfort, and exquisite care and dignity.
When she died, her face looked so relieved and peaceful, while the rest of us grappled with our own sense of guilt that we too felt relieved. This guilt with sorrow resolved in holding closer those beautiful, vibrant memories of the woman we knew and loved, and hugging our remaining loved ones just a little longer then we use to.
Farrah Fawcett is relieved of her pain and suffering, and we are left resolve our feelings that we see reflected in her life, her battle, and her rest.

My friend Pam of Atascadero, CA has been blogging about the medical condition of her nephew Rayce and I've been following his ups and downs for quite awhile now. Pam's blog yesterday had me in tears as she asked for everyone to pray for Rayce as his condition has turned grave. I ask all of you to pray for this cute little boy, for his family, and for my friend Pam, and if you would repost this, I would be grateful. A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO FR. ANDREW CALDER who postED this request to his Worldwide Prayer Group. Bless you, Father! Prayer Request I come to you at this time ask for your prayers for Rayce Cannon 4 1/2 years old He has red cell aplasia and a hole in his heart. He's too sick for open heart surgery and a bone marrow transplant, it may be an infection. Doctor's are afraid to proceed. They think he may die. Please offer up your prayers for healing, support and recovery for him and his family. Thank you.
