Some critics say that real Hip-Hop is being killed by teen/new artist, but there just might be hope for Hip-Hop after all found where most people wouldn't think to look. From time to time the Mid-West has brought to our attention that there is Hip-Hop in places other than the East Coast, West Coast or now days down south. With artist like Kanye West, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Twister, and Nelly the Mid-West has shown talent from it's larger cities like Chicago and St.Louis, but now it just may be Iowa's time to shine. That's right Iowa, and with a up an coming young mogul like J.Wright Iowa might finally be known for more than just it's corn and diary products.

19 year old rapper/producer/song writer/engineer/c.e.o J.Wright hails from Davenport Iowa which is apart of the Quad Cities(4 Cities on the border of Illinois and Iowa). Even though he is still a young man J has been on the scene and ready to blow for a few years now and his new album "This Must Be Wright" just might be what pushes him into the lime light. With a line up of some of the industries hottest artist, good production, and a style that no one has ever attempted J.Wright is sure to be a name that you won't forget.

With the lead single and street anthem "I'm a Baker" J.Wright shows everyone that he can be just as lyrical as some of the top heavy weights in the game as the song delivers punchline after punchline with a catchy hook and banging beat. It's the type of song that the ladies like because of the beat and hook but, it'll also earn the respect of the fellas with it's punchlines. On "Make Cents ft. Lil Wayne and Toon" J brings the hood feel again just to let you know things in Iowa are just like everywhere else, centered around the drive of making making money.

Songs like "Forces", "Fresh 2 Def " and the myspace hit "Wind Me Up ft. Soulja Boy Tell'Em, JBar, Lil Nico and A.R.Weezy" show that J can also make hits for the radio and clubs too.

In the intro track "This Must Be Wright" J.Wright tells us all the things he has been through from losing his dad at a young age, to struggling trying to make it in the music industry, and even to how people act towards him now that he has started to gain a little bit of fame. "Take the Pain Away" talks about the death of one of his closest friends and J talks to him and lets him know whats been going on since he's been gone. With the addition of the song "Strugglin" J shows us that he is been through more than what most 19 year old teens have been through.

J shows off his story telling skills and reminds me of a more old school artist like Slick Rick on the song "Time ft. Ne-Yo" where he tells us two stories of him losing girls he was in love with.

Don't think for a second that Mr.Wright doesn't cater to the ladies. With songs like "See You Smile","Ringtone" and "Fallen Angel ft. Chris Brown" J.Wright just might be the next LL Cool J in the making.

Overall this album is complete and I hate to say it a instant classic. From start to finish this album delivers hit after hit and is one of those albums you can just let play all the way through. If J.Wright can keep creating music like this he is sure to be a house hold name very soon and maybe even a Hip-Hop legend. Who would have ever thought that the future of Hip-Hop would be from the same place that provides our corn, Iowa!
