Well, as most of our loyal fans know, we annually throw a show on 420 to celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For the past three years we have made it into one of the best party/concerts of each year, starting as a little seed in 2006 on the front porch of Drews house, to a still in the works, skate ramp, stage, mini bar, all access party barn... with a growing number of heads each year that has been better than the last. So this year is gonna be even better, we plan on having 9 bands so far and its set for Sunday April 19th, 2009. The line up as of now is:
Blasturds 7:30-8:00 (side stage)
Built From Ashes 8:15-8:45 (main stage)
fuck the mainstream 9:00-9:30 (side stage)
obliterates -aka old butter rats, olblistertits, ahh dont give a shitt! -9:45-10:15 (main stage)
vanquish thy enemy 10:30-11:00 (side stage)
Shattered Sun 11:15-11:45 (main stage)
Stronger than all 12:00-12:30 (side stage)
In The Trench --12:45- 1:15 (main stage)
SEED 1:30-?!?!!? (main stage) where da weed at!!
maybe more bands to come!!! So get ready cause it's coming...... We love u all! -SEED

I should just start by saying that this will be it. This will be the last that will be said of the subject. I'm only posting this because someone else made this public first.
For those you that don't know, SEED headed out to Porky's (Port-O-Call) to play this past 4th of July, forgoeing all other 4th of July plans we had or could have made with our families and friends to play a show we were invited to and jam with a bunch of bands we hadn't heard before. We get there and hang out and listen to the other bands, drink some beers and then...well, everything got fucked. We were told we were going on before the last band, which mysteriously didn't show for one reason or another. We have nothing agianst them, they had their reasons I'm sure, so we were told we were now headlining, which we do, for some reason, everytime we play out of town which doesn't really make sense to me since a local band would have a better following, but hey, we do what we have to. No one made announcements about who was going on next so some more shit happened and 'supposedly' we were supposed to hit the stage but someone failed to mention anything of the sort, so another band went on as we unloaded our stuff and got everything ready. Then the show was stopped and we were told no more bands could play...as we were the last band, and I believe the ones that drove the furthest, we were told we were shit outta luck. We tried to talk the owner to let us play a few songs, but she paid the DJ and the DJ must go on.
Now, maybe we over reacted. Maybe we spoke out of line a bit. But how in the fuck are we supposed to act? Are supposed to smile and shake the dude's hand and say "Gee buddy, it's fine Kingsville's a 160 round trip for us and our 3 vehicles. It's really OK that we didn't get to play and fucking wasted our 4th of July. Don't sweat it, bro." Is that the response we were supposed to give? So, some words were exchanged, as one would expect they would be after getting stiffed the way we did, and this was what STX Hardcore Productions POSTED online. Now granted I would have thought that the whole mess was between STX and SEED, but they made it public. Here's an excerpt of what was said:
"NOW ALL THE BANDS SAID THEY WHERE PLAYING FOR THE EXPROSURE AND FOR THE LOVE OF THE MUSIC" then biggie made it seem as if they where rock stars and he acted like a fucking diva after, that!!!!!i heard most of the band talking shit about me and epc and rene!fuck the words that came out of biggies muoth was "we are not those other bands we are nothing like them we are better. are sound if just great and we well stale the show from them all!"
You can head over to http://www.myspace.com/southtexashardcoremusic and read the rest.
Now, I can barely understand what is being said in the blog, but what I gather is that Biggie's a diva and SEED are assholes...but as I mentioned before, how in the fuck were we supposed to act? We figured the show was going to be professional and everything was going to go like it was supposed to, like most shows we play. Everyone that has ever met Biggie knows for a damn fact that he is the farthest fucking thing from a diva. He will go out of his way to make sure the crowd is having a good time. He will go out of his fucking way to shake your hand and to personally thank each and every fan that shows up to a gig. SEED has helped more bands, thrown more shows, stuck around and supported more bands that STX Hardcore Productions ever will and bands we jam with and our fans know that. We head out every fucking weekend and play because we love playing. Playing being the key term here. In the almost 3 years SEED has been in existence, this was the FIRST time this has ever happened. We've had production companies keep the bar open half an hour because things didn't go right and they wanted us to play. We've had cool fucking people do everything they could to make it worth our time and actually PLAY for exposure. So, yeah we're done now. As I mentioned, nothing will be said after this. We will no longer have anything to do with STX Hardcore Productions and they will have nothing to do with SEED. It's that simple.
So we appologize to our fans, according to STX there weren't many, even though a ton of people came up to us and said they couldn't wait for us to go on, and since we promoted the show to our fans it makes us look bad, and as everone knows, we love our fans. AND to end on a positive note, our newest single 'Against the Grain' is almost ready! We recieved our demo copies for critiques and have sent back some changes, so it should be about a week and it will be available for FREE to all you guys here online and at our shows! I must say it kicks ass.

So, this past weekend Biggi headed in to the studio and laid down all the vocal tracks for our upcoming new single which, for a limited time, will be available FREE in 3 different locations: www.myspace.com/SEED33 - www.SEEDLIVE.com - and at any of our shows. We don't know how long we can give it away so get it ASAP. We'll be posting in a few weeks when we get the mixed copy which is in Spinalcore Records' very capable hands as we speak. Thanks everyone for the support and wish us luck as we head out to Central Texas this weekend and tear some shit up. Later. -Paul SEED

Now, the directions are simple. Go to the same place you went to last year. If this is your first 420 show, just be cool. It’s going to be at DREW’S HOUSE OF ROCK-N-ROLL. It’s going to be $4 to get in to the gate and $5 bucks for a cup to help empty the keg. There will be a bar and...umm...other stuff, too so be ready for a long night. Find someone who knows how to get there and get there. Tons of bands, beer & bitches. That’s all I have to say. -P!
