Ok...it has been forever since my last blog...so first things first...I am in a new band now called "Only Human" with Kevin and Jim from our old band Think of 3, and newcommers Anna Keretzman (my buddy!!) and Les.
So yesterday, March 10th, Anna and i drove to a radio station in NJ to perform a song. So we left really early, got there at 5:15 and waited in the parking lot until 6 (which was the time we were supposed to be there). While we were in the car, we were freaking out...getting unnervous...so, we went inside, met the one guy that hosts the show and were waiting for Melissa. Les got there and we started practicing my song "Hold On" in the lobby. Then we started getting all the facts of when we were performing and what was happening...the show started at 7pm and first up was Annie Haslam talking about her paintings and donating a painting for the Serenity House CD...during the breaks they played songs off of the album...so Annie's song went first, then the second break started with my song "Somewhere" and then we were on the air singing "Hold On", Kevin introduced it and we sang...i didn't realize that after i was done they were going to ask me questions...Anna said i looked like a deer in headlights. What? i wasn't ready for questions. so then Kevin talked about the Serenity House CD and everything while the one host asked us to sing another song to close the show because we were so good!! So i had to pull out another song and practiced again in the lobby, they said that two peole sent text messages and then one person sent an email about how good i was...so i guess they liked me! it was awesome...so then we closed the show with my song "Shine"
Now was time for some pictures with everyone and the hosts...Then i was asked to do an ID, i was like a what? yea i had no idea what it was, and they were like oh you just talk and we record you...i'm like ok! sure! So me and Annie went in a room and did an ID tag. Annie went first, she is all professional and everything and i found out what an ID tag was. So then it was my turn and this is what i had to say "Hello, This is Alexis Hoover and you are listening to the well advised women." Then i did one more "Hello, This is Alexis Hoover and your are listening to SOS, the Stars Other Side, on the well advised women." So i guess they are going to use my voice sometime during there show. That was cool.
So the night was awesome, and if you missed it...what were you doing? anyway we will be getting CDs from the show and i will post it up here so those of you who missed it can listen!
Later

So Angels Wake was the first band up, love those guys! and then some people came out and did a little interpretive dance...then it was us!! I think we did pretty good, only a couple little mess ups, but noone could tell. We got video taped, took some pictures of the band, which i will hopefully have up sometime soon. I think we did really good as the first time as a band together playing out.

so today some of my band members went to a television station right outside of york PA. It was basically me and my drummer and then Kevin (from "think of 3") who played bass for us. So i got there about a half hour late cause i didn't think it was going to take that long but it took longer than expected. Got there and found out my drummer forgot to pack his bass pedal and his throne...so made a couple of phone calls and one of the guys who works there plays the drums so they had him bring his bass pedal and we were saved...so taping was supposed to start around 9:30...yea it didn't start til after 10 or so and then it took forever to get everything set up and then finally start taping...plus you couldn't see anything cause the whole room was black and then all you could see were the lights blinding you...then someone yells standby and then you have to wait for the signal to start playing (thats if you could see the guy) ha but it was fun we did about 4 songs and then it turned out to be 12 already...the scary part was the one camera that moves by itself and goes all over the place, i would turn around and it would be right in my face...then we went out for lunch and came back and thought we were going to play our last song, but they decided to change the camera's to set up for the actual taping of the show...so we went in the lobby and watched them tape the show and then got to watch us play, it was pretty sweet with all pro cameras and lights and stuff, i'm going to get a dvd of it and hopefully be able to put the videos up on the site...
later
oh yea, the tv station is WGCB TV 49 website: http://www.wgcbtv.com/ time: Sunday 8/6/06 @ 2pm (there is a link on the website to watch online)
