INVERT NO MORE After ten years of working together, issuing three albums, and giving hundreds of performances in 55 venues in 28 cities, the members of Invert have decided to stop working together as a unit. All of us remain the best of friends - it's just that some members within the group are feeling a pull in other directions, and wish to spend more time working on other musical endeavors. Our official website at http://www.invertmusic.org will remain up due to the very generous offering by Equal Temperment to host it for free. Our albums will remain readily available on CD and as downloads via CD Baby and many other online stores. We plan to update our site on occasion with more photos, videos of live performances, and links to previously unreleased music. We have a good number of recordings of various shows in our vault, including a number of compositions and improvisations that were never released on any of our albums. When time permits we hope to post them for your listening pleasure. All of the members of Invert wish to take this time to thank our fans, friends, collaborators, and families for their amazing support over the years. It has made our experiences in the group incredibly rewarding! You folks are the best!! THANK YOU!!

We're excited to announce that our first ever music video is available for your viewing and listening pleasure. The video is to "Dog Days" - the 2nd track from our most recent CD, "The Strange Parade" It was composed by cellist Chris George and features drums by special guest Roberto Rodriguez. The video was shot and edited by film maker Greg King - who we think did an amazing job. It includes footage shot in performances on our 2005 tours in support of the Rachel's, some of our travels along the West coast during that tour, along with more recent footage shot here in NYC. You can view a streaming version below or you can download a high res version of the video hereHope you enjoy!!

INVERT PLAYS THIS FRIDAY IN BETHLEHEM PA Invert comes out of summer hiatus with a road trip for a show at the intimate Godfrey Daniels listening room in Bethlehem Pennsylvania this Friday, September 12. We will perform two sets of compositions from our CD's, along with a few new unrecorded pieces. Check out Godfrey Daniels' website or our schedule page for more details! THANKS FROM INVERT / INTERVIEW NOW ONLINE A huge Invert thanks goes out to all who were in attendance at our performance in front of a studio audience at the new WVIA TV studio in Pittstown, PA for our live broadcast (on 89.9FM in northeast Pennsylvania and online as well) there on May 19th. Invert had a blast (and lots of nervous energy) performing in front of TV cameras and a fantastically receptive audience. The show was also taped for TV broadcast which should happen sometime late this year or in early 2009. A gigantic thanks also goes out to our host, WVIA DJ George Graham, whose support of Invert has been extraodinarily generous. You can now hear an interview of Invert conducted by George Graham at: http://www.pluggd.tv/audio/channels/artscene_with_erika_funke/episodes/4b2dm

INVERT PLAYS AT ISSUE PROJECT ROOM THIS FRIDAY!! Invert will perform at the Issue Project Room for the first time at its acoustically excellent new temporary location at The Can Factory in Brooklyn on Friday March 14th. Our set will feature pieces from our most recent CD "The Strange Parade" - plus two new pieces (including one which will have its "world premiere") and an extended group improvisation. Also on the bill will be a set by the ultra-cool new music chamber ensemble Till By Turning. Please come out for what is sure to be a special event & check out our schedule page for more details. THANKS FROM INVERT A huge Invert thanks go out to all the kind folks who packed the Main Room of the Knitting Factory, in Manhattan on Saturday February 9th, where we opened the night in a bill of amazing bands. Despite Steve breaking a string in the middle of playing "The Peak" we were able to quickly regroup and had an excellent time playing for an extremely receptive audience. The event was in celebration of the release of the "Dreamland" CD from Beat Circus. "Dreamland" features playing by three of Invert's members on the track "Lucid State" -a short string quartet composed by Beat Circus leader Brian Carpenter and has been released by Cuneiform Records. A special thanks goes out to Brian Carpenter for inviting us to play at this great event - along with the amazing Nervous Cabaret, Humanwine, and The Cassettes -who all played excellent sets that night as well. INVERT TO RESCHEDULE SHOW IN BETHLEHEM PA Unfortunately a snow storm forced the venue to cancel what was to be our first show at the Godfrey Daniels listening room in Bethlehem Pennsylvania on Friday, February 22nd, but we're hoping to be able to reschedule this for sometime this summer or fall (where the weather should be much more conducive to travelling) shortly. VICIOUS VAUDEVILLE SHOW A SUCCESS A big Invert thanks goes out to all those who completely packed the house for our first show of the New Year opening the night for the twisted burlesque of Vicious Vaudeville at Galapagos in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York on this Saturday, January 5, and also a huge thanks to Jared & all the Vicious Vaudevillians who invited us to perform and put on an amazing show themselves. Thanks! "THE STRANGE PARADE" MAKES "BEST OF 2007" LISTS We're proud to announce that Invert's latest CD, The Strange Parade, was named as one of the best albums of 2007 by both The Silent Ballet and WVIA's George Graham. Thanks go to these fine folks for the kudos!

Our brand new CD "The Strange Parade" just got two great very positive reviews - with one in Dutch no less! You can read them at The Silent Ballet reviewand (in Dutch): Subjectivisten reviewA big inverted thanks goes out to Jonathan Brooks and Jan Willem Broek for their very kind words!! btw - if any Dutch speakers could get us a better translation to English than what the online translation bots do (which gets the idea across but comes up with some pretty hilarious metaphors and grammar) please get in touch! All the best, Steve Berson Invert

MAY 2007 A big Inverted thanks goes out to all those who came out on Sunday May 13 for our show at a very cool intimate club in the Lower East Side of NYC - The Living Room on Ludlow Street. We played a number of favorites from our new CD and premiered a brand new latin inspired piece by Steve Berson entitled "Ritmo Elegante." It was truly a fun evening for us playing on a great bill with three other amazing acts - Rebecca Moore (with whom Steve played electric cello with that night), Jaggery, and Myth of Mitch. More thanks go out to all who came to our very first show in Philadelphia PA where we played for a private reception for an art gallery show at The F.U.E.L. Collection on Wednesday May 2nd. A special treat for us was having Eve Miller, the cellist for Rachel's, join us for a number of improvisations at the show. A special thanks goes out to Justin Berger for inviting us to perform at this event and to all the great people at F.U.E.L. for making it such a great experience.
APRIL 2007 A huge Invert thanks goes to all of those who came out for our two shows in April. The first was Tuesday, April 10 at the University of Maryland in College Park, where we performed in the beautiful Gildenhorn Recital Hall as part of their "Take Five" series. We had a fantastic time playing in front of an incredibly responsive audience (most who were hearing us for the very first time). A special thanks also goes out to the awesome staff at the U of Md. for their help in making the concert go so smoothly.
Our second show in April was at the Issue Project Room, an ultra-cool new music venue in what used to be an oil storeage silo in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, where we celebrated the release of our brand new 3rd CD, The Strange Parade. We did this one "eighteenth century stylie" playing completely acoustically with the room lit only by candles. This was truly a special event for us getting to play in front of great friends in a magnificent sounding room. Special thanks goes to Suzanne Fiol, Niles, Tom and all the rest of the cool crew at Issue for contributing amazingly positive vibes to the night, and to the Nick Rosen Quartet for playing a great opening set for the night.

INVERT'S NEW CD JUST RELEASED & IS AVAILABLE NOW!!! We're enormously excited to announce that our new full length third CD, entitled "The Strange Parade," has just been released to the public on our own label, Inverted Music. You can PURCHASE THE NEW CD online at CD Baby by clicking HERE!!We're enormously proud of this one and truly believe it's absolutely the best album we've created to date. It features 15 pieces, including seven compositions by Invert's members, seven group collaborations entirely improvised in the studio, and our own arrangement of Shigeru Umebayashi's "Yumeji's Theme" (which many of you might know from the soundtrack to the movie "In The Mood For Love"). The Strange Parade also features very special guest Roberto Rodriguez playing drums on both "The Peak" and "Dog Days." Roberto has performed with Ruben Blades, Lester Bowie, T-Bone Burnett, Randy Brecker, Paquito D'Rivera, Julio Iglesias, The Miami Sound Machine, Joe Jackson, Dave Liebman, Paul Simon, Lloyd Cole, Susie Ibarra, Phoebe Snow and Marc Ribot, among many others, and his expertise definitely helped to push these two cuts to a much higher level in the groove department. The CD comes in a deluxe full color 6 panel Digipak, with gorgeous graphic design by Steve Cooley from the Cooley Design Lab, and features photographs by Steve Cooley and Esther Levine. "The Strange Parade" will be made available at our shows, online at CD Baby, and also at a few retail stores in New York and elsewhere which we'll list here as we get the album to them. Thirteen of the tracks were recorded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at Excello by engineer extraordinaire Paul Evans Mitchell, who also worked with us on our previous CD, Between The Seconds. Roberto Rodriguez's drums for "The Peak" and "Dog Days" were recorded by Joel Hamilton (who has worked with Tom Waits and Elvis Costello among many others) at Studio G Brooklyn - and strings for these tracks recorded by Steven Berson at his studio, Total Sonic Media, where the album was also edited, mixed, and mastered. You can hear excerpts of The Strange Parade on our MUSIC page or on our page at MySpace. We hope you enjoy!!
