Please view The KIAA FAQ page on their website regarding its members using computer based karaoke hosting.
The purpose of this blog is to inform all who read it the opportunity to educate themselves on how karaoke piracy effects all involved, including the karaoke singer. We have provided links to The KIAA for your investigation as well as links to current legal actions which have been, or are being conducted against karaoke piracy.

SLEP'S 2nd STATEMENT Next, Mr. Slep comments on Sound Choice's plans on distributing MP3+G's of the SC Catalog to assist the KJ's using illegal SC content to avoid a lawsuit & become legitimate for around $0.75 a song. Also Kurt explains how legitamate KJ's can inform local venues of what karaoke piracy is & what risk is involved with third party "contributory infringement" lawsuits if the venue uses any KJ running pirated karaoke.

Kurt also mentioned briefly that Sound Choice has actually bought pre-loaded hard drives from various sources & have turned them over to the F.B.I. for criminal prosecution. We have linked to our post regarding this since the comment was only brief in a much longer post by Kurt regarding other issues.

We commend Sound Choice & Mr. Slep for their ongoing actions against karaoke piracy by continuing to root out infringers around the United States. Even though this is only a beginning, as fellow KIAA members with Sound Choice, we look forward to assisting Mr. Slep in any way regarding Sound Choice's efforts in their planned future litigations. Below are some past legal actions taken against karaoke piracy:In July 2006, The Federal Bureau of Investigation seized pre-loaded computer hard drives with alleged pirated karaoke content which led to The United States Justice Department's conviction in April 2007 of an an ebaY seller for distributing these pre-loaded computer hard drives with pirated karaoke content.

Members of The KIAA work closely with law enforcement monitoring ebaY, Craigslist, & the internet as a whole exposing these pirates.
We will maintain this blog with any new updates in the fight against karaoke piracy. As far as what Lake Tahoe Karaoke ©, Wall Of Sound, Inc. ©, & Psycho Attitude Productions © is doing in regards to our KIAA membership, we are following the membership terms which are outlined on The KIAA website.
