Bo, Godfather of rock and roll
try to leave you out what is that all about?
they don't know? bout the guitar flow
gotta jam my man to the Diddley band
can't hold him back it's the rap game mixed with the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame
we get down low wit the Bo sound
how it go?
chan , chan, chan, cha, chan...chan
came a long way baby Dutchess wreckin' it lady
from crazy governors to governments shady
sax machines don't be so mean
thump it like a trumpet
if you cant tear it down jump it
cant take it for granted over the Pacific and Atlantic
rock and roll I guess put it to the test
Bo got soul up in that chest
king of checker and chess
cant stop backdrop beats
reason rock and roll got em out dem seats
fast cars, faster women
took it to the limit
the struggle takin names down wit it
history is quick on that sick guitar lick
Bo Diddley how can we ever forget? -------------- Chuck D Public Enemy 2004
One of my most memorable moments in music... period, was the day I spent with Mr. Bo Diddley. Scott Free arranged a meeting, which started from his bedside where he was recovering from his burns. He was talking music, Chess (as in records), and things that were on TV at that minute. Bo was motivated by this idea he had been working on that he sprung out of bed and rolled into the studio next door. He and Scott lit the board up with some super futuristic layered funk I couldn't describe. It was very percussive. I later rapped on a project that he was working on. Couldn't help the fact that I better had paid attention because it took 10 years for folks to catch up for what he did in the 1950s. I figured in order to get down with Mr. Bo I'd better set my mind, skill, and soul somewhere around 2025. Elvis was a hero to most but y'all better make some room for Bo Diddley. Chuck D Public Enemy

Tammi Diddley and Bodetta will no longer be associated with the trademark, "Bo Diddley", as some people are of the opinion that we are exploiting our association with our friend/father for profit. Our new fans in Mississippi have decided they want more Offspring based on our recent performances and nothing more. It is unnecessary for us to mention our association with Ellas in the commission of performing music and the music of my mentor will shoot out of my fingers like bolts of lightning.
We may have to come up with a new name as there is already a well known band of the same name. We'll see what happens. In any event, we will have a fantastic time in "Missippi" when we go back.

You were absolutely awesome in your performance. We really enjoyed it. As I told you tonight we are from Kentucky and travel all over the US. Hopefully, we will be able to catch another one of your performances. Keep the spirit alive.
Love and God bless each of you.

It has been brought to my attention that some people think I would stoop low enough to try to CAPITALIZE on the passing of my dear friend, Ellas McDaniel. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I simply and INNOCENTLY posted this site as Bo Diddley's Offspring to eliminate any confusion between us (the original Offspring) and The Offspring, a well known rock band and as selfish as it may sound, I wish he was still here.
Ellas' management has conflicted emotions about his name as they have informed the family that me using his name is an infringement on the family's "trademark"
As far as I am concerned, Ellas' alter-ego will never amount to a trademark like Uncle Ben and Aunt Jamima. Ellas' alter-ego has eclipsed those trademarks seven-fold and he is still alive in the minds of fans all around the world.
A trademark. What lunacy
So forget I ever said anything about Ellas. Close your eyes and listen to me, while I keep the legacy of one of my heroes alive.

Fast Lane of Gainesville, Florida was gracious enough to host the "Return of The Diddley Darlings, Tammi Diddley and Bodetta. Tammi sat in on J.D.'s (Jeff Durrant) kit and Bodetta used Evilman's extra keyboard, then they both took over the front of stage and wrecked it. The audience response was phenomenal and special thanks go to Frannie Mae, Sonya, Beep and others who had a fantastic time. Thank you. The Backstage Lounge in Gainesville has an excellent sound system and it is always a pleasure to perform there but, tonight was magic. Fast Lane was magic and Offspring was magic. Major shouts out to Ben, Hank & Tom. I didn't get to see their whole set, but I know it was smokin' because the first song was hot!
