hello to all people
to begin the launching of mix tape live on stage i will be doing one show only in both Melbourne [ Northcote Social Club, Sat 2 April]
and Sydney [ Annandale Hotel, Friday 3 April].
as you would now know already i played all the instruments on the record but unfortunately this is absolutely impossible to do live
without nasa technology and 3d holographic projections, so although i did give it serious consideration eventually i thought fuck it
and got a kick arse band instead.
im looking forward to these shows heaps but i must warn you that if you are up the front in the first song...... watch out.
cheerio

Hello there to all people,

I have an announcement to make........

As I spent so long locked away in the studio for about 2 years making my mixtape album, playing all the instruments myself, writing all the songs, singing all the words, buying all the beers etc it has come to my attention that although it was a brilliant experience, well I got very bloody lonesome and went a bit bonkers with cabin fever....
So......I have decided to run a competition where i will come by and jam with some band out there that i have never met.....and....it could be your band......so if this is of interest to you please tell me in 25 words or less [ or more ] why you think your band should get the gig.
[i already have some good ideas including its nice to meet new people and i really need to get out more]

You must tell me your band name, myspace url and the location of your mansion/ jam room/ shed/ or back yard where the epic jam session from hell will take place.
It doesn’t matter what type of music you play because as i grew up in the country listening to bad AM radio i like all musical styles even the crap stuff, so even if you play folk/metal/boy band/ house/reggae i may be up for it.
also i will be bringing a film crew with me to document this event and play it later on MySpace for the whole world to see, so make sure to clean up the place but don’t bother shaving or dressing up unless you really want to which of course is fine.
This comp is open to all boys and girls and men and women and dogs and cats out there.
I look forward to meeting you soon if you win and if you dont well bad luck and no hard feelings ok.

Cheers and good luck to all..

Hello there

The time is drawing near to the pending release of my solo record Mix Tape. The anticipation is building day by day hour by hour minute by minute so I thought fuck it why not lets take a load off and tell you folk about what’s going on. I will be doing a few gigs coming up in March/ April around the nation to launch the album but these will be pretty small and sweaty shows so your bound to get messy if you show up.

In the past weeks and months I have caught planes, done interviews, rehearsed many songs and awesome moves, done interviews, played Alicia Molik in tennis, done interviews, played an acoustic cover of a Farnsy song on live radio, cooked some of the finest meals imaginable, done interviews, watched heaps of TV, sung a Billy Thorpe song at the Myer Music Bowl in front of thousands of people, realised the new American version of Life on Mars is awful compared to the British one, done interviews, spun out and nearly crashed my Maserati, tried to work out if I like Bob Dylan or David Lee Roth better, done interviews, and received a letter from the prime minister.... just the usual stuff etc.

I gotta say I’m looking forward at last to the record coming out after recording for so long. I spent so much time in the studio in the last 2 years I nearly went mad. Now I know what Howard Hughes felt like except I would never bottle my wee no matter how rich I got.

Enjoy the album people and remember gentlemen out there with beards are good.

After recording over a two year period at Melbourne's Sing Sing South Studios, Kram's debut solo album "Mix Tape" will finally be available in stores on Saturday March 13!

Featuring the first single "Silk Suits" (the video of which was shot at the iconic Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and stars former world #8 professional tennis player Alicia Molik) the 15 tracks veer from spooky Prince-like soul ("Burnin' Sands") and storming fuzz rock ("Good Love") to melancholic country ballads ("Won't Be Home Tonight") and funky pop jams that could be a lo-fi Scissor Sisters ("Satellite"). It's an eclectic, invigorating collection of songs.

The Spiderbait co-vocalist and drummer explains the philosophy behind the album as a desire for it to be "like a radio station where all the songs sound like different bands even though it's all played by one person.... The premise of the whole album was to be constantly changing your approach musically".

The result is the soundtrack for a road trip, with each tune moving you down the road and across the musical spectrum.

Check Kram out performing live at the Medibank International Sydney on January 17 at 6pm between the women's and men's final!
