I just wanted to let all of our fan’s who’ve been anticipating getting a chance to see Terror Overload – Tales from Satan’s Truck stop know that the early premiere test screening at Denver Horrorfest went waaaaaay better than any of us could have expected!!
The screening was at 7pm Saturday in between ton’s of classic camp slasher films like Friday the 13th, The Burning, Madman amongst others and by far the Terror Overload screening was the biggest and best this convention has EVER seen since they started it 8+ years ago!!
The screening was a sellout with barely even standing room left and that’s even after they squeezed a bunch more seats from another room!!! People totally dug all the sleazy pervy bloody and at times funny stuff that Terror Overload delivers!!!
After an almost standing ovation, Directors Jason Stephenson and Kevin Myhre along with Ari (Friday the 13th) Lehman, Joe Knetter and Scarlet Salem held a brief Q&A that was entertaining to say the least!!!
Thanks to everyone in Denver welcoming Terror Overload sooo much!!
Any horror festivals/Conventions that may be interested in screening Terror Overload should drop us a line to work out the details!!
Now to get a local Minnesota premiere out of the way and move on to finding suitable distribution!!!

The Devil's Holiday By: Joshua LeSuer Published: December 15th, 2008
"We all go a little mad sometimes." So says the mother-doting, schizoid innkeeper of "Psycho". Truth! It is a demented delight, flirting with the fiend and fanatic within. It's fun to dabble with the devilish, to snack on sin. It's all right to take a ramble through the Vegas of Earthly Delights, so long as we have our conscience as our chaperone, saying, "Sample, taste, but don't gorge." That's why Jason Stephenson, director of "Terror Overload" (a platter of bonbons bursting with gory cream), is one of the most well-adjusted fellows you'll ever encounter. No raving loonie nor slavering psycho he, but a gentleman and a joker. I met him at his Halloween bash, his backyard a cross between the carnival in "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and the domain of Pinhead, a psychadelic sidesow of terrible treats, the damned denizens including that Vixen of Vile, Scarlet Salem, and Satan's Jester, Joe Knetter. They and so many more dismembers of the unholy circle of Minneap Movie Horror came together to conjure this midnight hour of sublime sickness. It's nice when otherwise mentally-sound people gather for a worthy goal: Dumping out their septic psyches on the screen, like so much crude oil gushing into a pristine ocean reef. After all, the ghoulish revelry and destruction of indie horror is infinitely more cathartic than a shrink. Cheaper, too. ~ ~ ~ Mr. J: Tell me a little about how you got started with "Terror Overload" and how it evolved into the movie the Archdiocese dubbed "Evil spewed from Satan's bowels, the cardinal sin show"? The Other Mr. J: When me, Kevin Myhre and Brant Johnson started throwing ideas around for "Terror Overload," it was initially intended as a fun way to shoot a few short films with some friends who wanted to learn how to put a movie together and then tie them into one feature-length, horror anthology. But moving forward from its simple conception, close to a year ago, "Terror Overload" has since evolved into something far more than that. Mr. J: So, tell me, what was it like working with the man responsible for the most gut-blowing, three-second performance in slasher history? The Other Mr. J: It was very cool. Ari Lehman brought a lot of energy and fun to the set. We had a ton of fun filming "Mongo Chupa," the segment he was involved in. For all the crazy stuff that goes on in the film, we didn't hear a single complaint. Plus, he always came to the set very prepared, he knew all his lines and had his character, Ray Rae, nailed to a tee. Not only that, but all the cool stories about "Friday 13th" were interesting, as well. Mr. J: So, what's "Terror Overload" about (all I've heard is something about it being the next Meg Ryan vehicle; I didn't even know she still had a career)? The Other Mr. J: I'd hate to give away all the fine details, but genre fans that love their ultra-low-budget, exploitation, horror flicks, loaded with over-the-top blood, boobs, gore, sex, creatures, sleaze and a bunch of other crazy stuff will not be disappointed with "Terror Overload"! Mr. J: If I watch "Terror Overload," will I go to hell? Read the rest of the Interview here: www.minnewood.com

September 15: Indie filmmakers experience TERROR OVERLOAD
Minnesota-based frightmeister Jason (OFF THE BEATEN PATH) Stephenson got in touch with word of a new omnibus horror project he's working on. "Just when I thought I was taking this past summer off, I got myself into a new movie project called TERROR OVERLOAD—TALES FROM SATAN'S TRUCK STOP," he tells Fango. "It's a feature-length exploitation/horror anthology that I'm making with a few good friends of mine. As with all my movies thus far, it's very low-budget, but entirely geared for just about any genre fan. This is not currently a project of my NFTS Productions, but an entirely new entity, which is kind of strange but very exciting nonetheless!"
The three directors involved are (pictured above, left to right) Stephenson and first-timers Kevin Myhre, who did FX on DOOMED, and Brant Johnson, who played a zombie in that movie. "When Kevin, Brant and I started throwing ideas around for TERROR OVERLOAD," Stephenson says, "it was initially intended as a fun way to shoot a few short films with some friends who wanted to learn how to put a movie together, and then tie them into one feature-length product. But from this simple conception close to a year ago, TERROR OVERLOAD has evolved into something far more than that."
Scripted by horror author Joe Knetter, Dustin LaValley and Robbi Ribspreader, the result is framed by the wraparound story "Devil Driver," in which a creepy truck driver tells three scary stories to a sexy, stranded hitchhiker: "Dinner Date," "Lot Lizard" and "Mongo Chupa." FX were handled by Myhre and Haunted Autumn Productions, and the cast includes Knetter, Ari (FRIDAY THE 13TH) Lehman, Scarlet Salem, Rachel Grubb, Nicole Kruex, Marv (SCULPTURE) Blauvelt, Chase Ambrose, Landyn Banx, former pro wrestler Mike (Gator McGraw) Kinney, John "Bud" Knetter and Leah Avery.
The three main tales have already wrapped, with "Devil Driver" rolling later this month. "We're excited that things are coming along as great as they are," Stephenson says, "and that this is shaping up to be one down-and-dirty movie that pulls no punches! I'd hate to give away all the fine details, but genre fans who love their ultra-low-budget exploitation/horror flicks loaded with over-the-top blood, boobs, gore, sex, creatures, sleaze and a bunch of other crazy stuff will not be disappointed with TERROR OVERLOAD!" You can find out more about it at its official website and MySpace page. —Michael Gingold
