Hello there, some misc bits of what we've been up to lately...

We just finished up working with the lovely singer-songwriter Kelli Ali from the UK, collaborating on some tunes for her next album on One Little Indian. Should be coming out soon, we'll let you know!
www.kelliali.com
www.myspace.com/kelliali

We're still working towards a new album.. and our friend, Christine Lunde, will be playing cello and singing harmonies with us, we'll put up a track on myspace soon.

jedsounds.com is up with some music that Jed has worked over this past year and some old stuff as well. Jed will be out at SxSW and WMC in Miami, write us if you're going to be out there too..

Lucia is still working on her Swedish album, she'll be going over to Stockholm in April to soak in some more inspiration and finish it up in the next couple months. She'll be putting up a track on jedandlucia.com soon.

Hope you've all had a good winter!

Hi everyone hope you are all having a great summer!

Over here in the rather hot Chatsworth rocky mountains, we've been working on getting "Candles in Daylight" out into the world so to speak. We repressed the cd with new and improved art, you see it by the songs here on our myspace page. Fanatic Promotions (fanaticpromotion.com) will be working the cd to both radio and online press through August so keep an eye out. We recently got the cd on iTunes and Amazon as well.

Gotten some cool reviews, check out one up now on http://theindieportal.com/ we were happy to read. We were also just named to the URB next 100 for 2006.

We've signed a deal with Riptide Licensing (http://riptidemusic.com, myspace.com/riptidemusic) and are super excited to be working with them! Emily over there has been great and we went to see her perform in the band Midway (myspace.com/midway) over at The Scene and she completely rocked the bass, and even played sax in the band before them.

We performed a couple times over the last few months at cafes, ranch parties, living rooms and art galleries, was great to see some of you there! More shows coming up.

Our previously stated ambitions for Unfound Records have been scaled back after finding time for music making was falling away pretty quickly in favor of label related stuff. So for the time being we'll just be working to release more of our own stuff. Our 2nd cd should be done in the next couple of months. Along with this, Lucia has finished writing a cd of Swedish folk tunes, and is heading in to record them. Jed is working towards some things of his own, mostly Coal Miner, a project based around Cormac Mcarthyesque country metal songs. Afrodisiac Sound System is truckin along, with a new 12" in works featuring the English MC Ty, as well as a possible Canadian tour this fall. Check updates at http://www.afrosoundsystem.com and myspace.com/afrodisiacsoundsystem.

We'd love to hear what you all have been up so feel free to write us at
j.l@jedandlucia.com
or here at myspace

Hey there,

Jed and Lucia here letting y'all know what we're up to,
hope everyone's well!

Candles in Daylight is now on iTunes, so check it out if you're on
there in the near future. Amazon isn't too far behind, but you can
order the cd now from cdbaby.com/jedandlucia

We're gonna be pushing the record pretty good this month, mailing out
to radio and press. If anyone has any ideas for stations in your area
that might dig our sound, let us know! Likewise for press.

Jed is off to DJ at South by Southwest in Austin with Afrodisiac
Soundsystem (www.afrosoundsystem.com, myspace.com/afrodisiacsoundsystem) opening for Femi Kuti, if anyone's going to be out there too let us know! The week after he's off to Winter Music Conference in Miami, so ditto for that as well.
On that note, keep an eye out for the new Afrodisiac Soundsystem
mixtape out in April.

Other stuff coming up, we'll keep you posted! And let us know what
you're up to.

Take Care

Happy New Year y'all! Its been very sunny and nice lately here in SoCal. And windy, which is always good, it blows through this canyon above us and then swoops in to hit our house full on, sounding like wind whistling through the masts of a ship while rattling the windows and bending the trees. Are listening to an old friend of ours music that we just stumbled upon on the web, incredible stuff - http://www.are-f.com/visual/internal_notes_4.htm We've added a second album to the unfound roster, an epic shed-rock (recorded in a shed) masterpiece by Ben Guzzetti who plays and sings every note of music like the world is coming to an end. They (real estate developers) recently demolished his shed up in Val Verde (seriously) so he is regrouping, but as soon as the album is pressed we'll let you know. We are hoping that Eric Oberthaler (http://www.soundsliketree.com) will be be putting his new cd on Unfound, and we're also bugging Ned Clark to record a cd of his songs, so if you happen to know either of these guys, email and write them and tell them they need to get their cds on Unfound pronto. Then at that point we'll become a real label and build a proper site, with all sorts of amazing website things that will keep you enthralled for hours. We're working on some other stuff right now, too. Jed is finishing up the new 12" under Afrodisiac Soundsystem (http://www.afrosoundsystem.com) featuring Aloe Blacc (http://www.aloeblacc.com), it will be hitting shops and online stores March, released on Kashmere (http://www.ksdmusic.com.) Check out Lucia singing on the choruses with Aloe on the A side, "Superstar." Afroheat ..4 is going to stores this month, and Afroheat ..It's being repressed also for Febuary release. Jed's also working towards a cd of metal banjo music, original countrified folk songs from a fictional land of screaming feedback and crunchy chords. Hoping it will be done and out by late spring/summer. If you're in LA Jed will be DJing at Afro Funke at Zanzibar in Santa Monica thursday the 19th, come down and check it out. He'll be playing afro hip hop, breaks, house, weird beats, all sorts of stuff. Come watch him dj on Serrato (turntables hooked up to the computer) for the first time ever, will be a bit of an experiment that could prove entertaining on many levels. Oh yeah Jed is going to Sundance on a Metallica pilgrimage, his buddy music supervised a film Metallica wrote some of the music for and has them playing some after-premiere party thing for the film people or however they do it up there. Anyway, the buddy requested them to play "nothing after 89." The possiblility (which is admittedly low) that this might actually happen has our Jed beside himself with excitement, and willing to risk sleeping in the ski lodge in the hopes that it might be a night to remember. Plus Jed's partner DJ Haul is djing the night and promises to play every good Metallica song that they don't after they're done with their set. Hope you're all well, sign up for our mailing list at jedandlucia@gmail.com and say hi to us!
