yay! i got to voice my opinions on national radio @ why i think Sarah made her announcement on friday the eve b4 the 4th Of JULY!! on the Glenn Beck Program!! woooohoooo! my sentiment was along these lines...though i said even more than what is written here..
we need more souls like hers in gvnt! im proud we still have leaders who can show some morals in regards to the greater good!! her speech announcing her resignation was one of THE MOST patriotic and beautiful speeches ive ever heard!! very eloquant, intelligent, and inspiring! i loved how she reminded us to always remember to move/look "northward"... for those who read between the lines- it was very apparent that she stepped ASIDE (not down!) for the greater good of the country! Sarah's stand. thats what im calling it! she realizes that she was being played to be a wedge that is dividing our country! remember... UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. be free america! end hate and liberate!
pUt dOwN ThE PaRtY HaTs AMERICA!!!! DiViDed WE FaLL!! grab a dictionary, look up "iNDePenDenCe"...now Do You feel free? DO YOU FEEL RED or BLUE?? ReViVe the ideas of our founding fathers... on this independence week & everyday! BE free, END hate & LiBeRaTe!!!

i was followed home by a NASTY virus that infiltrated my myspace IM- PRETENDING to be a friend! heres how it played out: ..........(actually they tried this with 2 friends!)-
after posting status about being on air on the Glenn Beck Program (syndicated 300 stations radio show, #3 Radio show nationally) i recieve the 2 myspace IMs..
both say: "what did you say? to 'nGLEN kBEC'?" ] ! i KNEW right away the IMs werent from either friend- the wording and obvious coded spelling wasnt anything my friends would ever use== so i reply: to chic friend "call me" to dude friend:"email me im getting off from IM"
replies??.... reply"k y?" from the chic friend ...and "k y?" from dude friend.. [MORE redflags!]
chic friend suddenly logs off... and dude-well, DUDE i reply too! i reply: "BIG BROTHER thinks im not paying attention. too paranoid for that!" followed by one more reply: "DOESNT REALIZE IM WATCHING THE ALL-WATCHING EYE!"
.....AND?, you ask. well POOF the mysterious villian vanished into the wormwhole he crawled out of! I CAN ONLY HOPE THESE HATING @$$HOLES [*dont*]LOVE LIVING IN THEIR DARK WORLDS OF HATE!!
these dicks ACTUALLY gave my comp a virus.. nasty one they tried 2 ways to infiltrate.. one thru google and one unknown. BUT VICTORY WAS MINE!! renewed my Kaspersky license!! best antivirus ever!! wooohooo! i win! haters lose!
true story!... i do not tell a lie!
is there a moral to this story? yup! "KEEP WATCHING THE ALL WATCHING EYE!".. live in light and love- NOT HATE!!
ACT, don't ReAct. when ego is lost, limit is lost. our intuition lies in our innocense. live with REVERENCE for yourself and others. love has no fear and no vengeance. GRACE brings CoNtEnTmeNt.;) ...patience is the key to joy! the PUrpOSe of LiFE is tO ENJOY every moment. inspire others.! HATE is the ViRUS, LiES & diViSiOn are the HOSTS!!
dont tread on me! and that means YOU TOO BIG BROTHER!!
at least gvnt didnt lie about the change its dumping on us.. meanwhile our liberties and our HARD EARNED dollars are being flushed away... to GOD ONLY KNOWS WHERE!!
when it comes to politics..
PutDown the PaRtY Hats AMERICA! "Divided WE faLL"!! look up"iNDePenDenCe" ...now, Do U feel free/RED/BLUE? ReViVe the ideas of OUR Founding Fathers! BE free, END hate & LiBeRaTe!

The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States, or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the values and principals of the greatest nation ever created. The 9 Principles &The 12 Values the principals.. 1. America Is Good. 2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life. 3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. 4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. 5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. 6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. 7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. 8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion 9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. the values... 1. Honesty 2. Reverence 3. Hope 4. Thrift 5. Humility 6. Charity 7. Sincerity 8. Moderation 9. Hard Work 10. Courage 11. Chapt..er One ~ Medit..ation.. as a Found..ation.. Pract..ice for Perso..nal Benef..its and Authe..ntic Spiri..tual Growt..h
Medit..ation.., corre..ctly pract..iced,.. is the simpl..e proce..ss of remov..ing atten..tion from condi..tions.. and circu..mstan..ces which.., when cogni..zed and overl..y ident..ified.. with,.. fragm..ent and cloud.. our perce..ption..s. Medit..ating.., while.. remai..ning alert.. and obser..vant,.. enabl..es us to easil..y exper..ience.. pure (..clear..) level..s of aware..ness or state..s of consc..iousn..ess. Doing.. this on a regul..ar sched..ule provi..des frequ..ent oppor..tunit..ies for physi..ologi..cal and psych..ologi..cal rest,.. while.. freei..ng atten..tion to explo..re more refin..ed state..s of consc..iousn..ess and to effor..tless..ly exper..ience.. spont..aneou..s unfol..dment..s of innat..e, spiri..tual quali..ties.
Pleas..e remem..ber, as you read this and proce..ed to the pract..ice of medit..ation.., that the secre..t of succe..ssful.. medit..ative.. exper..ience.. is to relax.. into the proce..ss, allow..ing const..ructi..ve adjus..tment..s of menta..l state..s and state..s of consc..iousn..ess to occur.. natur..ally... For this reaso..n, it is recom..mende..d that anxie..ty, as well as any incli..natio..n you may have to get somew..here or to get somet..hing,.. or any anxie..ty about.. the outco..me of an endea..vor indic..ates an attit..ude of need,.. of lack,.. and keeps.. us too self-..cente..red. That is ego. A sense.. of perso..nal effor..t or exces..sive use of will power.., to accom..plish.. a goal or to make somet..hing happe..n, arise..s from self-..consc..iousn..ess which.. needs.. to be renou..nced so that more refin..ed level..s of aware..ness can be perce..ived and exper..ience..d.
At all times.., wheth..er medit..ating.. or routi..nely engag..ed in every..day circu..mstan..ces and relat..ionsh..ips, it is helpf..ul to be inwar..dly aware.. of the fact that you are an immor..tal, spiri..tual being.. tempo..raril..y encap..sulat..ed in form,.. or tempo..raril..y relat..ing to the human.. exper..ience.., the human.. condi..tion... While.. in this world.. of form and pheno..mena,.. you expre..ss as a Spiri..t-..mind-..body being.., with your spiri..tual natur..e remai..ning super..ior to the mind and the physi..cal body.
You need to know that you are a spiri..tual being.. havin..g a human.. exper..ience.., and not a human.. being.. havin..g a spiri..tual exper..ience.., so that you can do helpf..ul thing..s to allow.. your innat..e quali..ties to unfol..d and expre..ss. Peopl..e who are self-..consc..iousl..y ident..ified.. with their.. bodie..s, or their.. form,.. ident..ified.. with their.. perso..nalit..y chara..cteri..stics.., or objec..tive circu..mstan..ces, somet..imes becom..e forge..tful of their.. essen..tial natur..e as spiri..tual being..s. Then,.. if they endea..vor to facil..itate.. spiri..tual growt..h, they may tend to think.. in terms.. of tryin..g to trans..form their.. human.., condi..tione..d natur..e into a spiri..tual one. The truth.. is, the human.. condi..tion does not becom..e spiri..tual;.. when condi..tions.. are ideal.., our spiri..tual natur..e awake..ns and bloss..oms, allow..ing us to clear..ly appre..hend that we are but using.. mind and body while.. the reali..ty of us, our spiri..tual natur..e, remai..ns ever as it is. At the inner..most core of our BE-..ing we are indiv..idual..ized (..thoug..h not indep..enden..t) units.. of the omnip..resen..t consc..iousn..ess of God. Even parti..al, intel..lectu..al under..stand..ing of this prima..ry fact of life can enabl..e us to have a more clear.., matur..e perce..ption.. of ourse..lves and of our world.., and provi..de us freed..om to make ratio..nal choic..es and imple..ment usefu..l actio..ns.
While.. the prima..ry purpo..se of medit..ation.. pract..ice is to facil..itate.. awake..ned spiri..tual consc..iousn..ess, the side-..benef..its which.. contr..ibute.. to our welln..ess and impro..ved funct..ion are sever..al: 1) Menta..l trans..forma..tions.. and think..ing proce..sses becom..e more organ..ized as the resul..t of medit..ative.. calmn..ess and the influ..ence of refin..ed state..s of consc..iousn..ess.
2) The body’..s immun..e syste..m is stren..gthen..ed and physi..ologi..cal funct..ions are encou..raged.. to be more balan..ced and effic..ient.
3) Biolo..gic aging.. proce..sses are slowe..d. Older.., long-..term medit..ators.. are menta..lly and physi..cally.. young..er than their.. calen..dar years.. might.. sugge..st.
4) Stres..s sympt..oms are reduc..ed. The nervo..us syste..m is refre..shed and enliv..ened,.. allow..ing aware..ness to more easil..y be proce..ssed throu..gh it.
5) Regen..erati..ve energ..ies are awake..ned. These.., direc..ted by innat..e intel..ligen..ce, vital..ize the body,.. empow..er the mind,.. and have resto..rativ..e and heali..ng influ..ences...
6) Intel..lectu..al skill..s are impro..ved, causi..ng delus..ions and illus..ions to be dispe..lled... Intui..tion awake..ns, allow..ing us to direc..tly know whate..ver we desir..e to know and to exper..ience.. a vivid.. sense.. of unerr..ing inner.. guida..nce.
7) Appre..ciati..on for livin..g is enhan..ced.
8) Creat..ivity.. is stimu..lated...
9) Innat..e spiri..tual quali..ties awake..n, enabl..ing us to be more insig..htful.., and funct..ional..ly skill..ful.
10) Rapid.., more satis..fying.., authe..ntic spiri..tual growt..h is nurtu..red becau..se body,.. mind,.. and aware..ness is benef..icial..ly influ..enced.. by refin..ed super..consc..iousn..ess state..s.
Spiri..tual growt..h is authe..ntic when it can be valid..ated by its obvio..us, benef..icial.. influ..ences.. and when we can easil..y demon..strat..e highe..r under..stand..ing and unres..trict..ed funct..ional.. abili..ties... As the defin..ing chara..cteri..stics.. and vital..ity of a livin..g plant.. can be known.. by exami..ning the chara..cteri..stics.. and quali..ty of it’s leave..s and fruit.. it produ..ces, so our state..s of consc..iousn..ess and degre..e of highe..r under..stand..ing can be deter..mined.. by how we are livin..g our lives.., and deali..ngs with the perso..nal circu..mstan..ces that preva..il. What we do and what we exper..ience.. has a direc..t corre..latio..n with our habit..ual state..s of consc..iousn..ess and menta..l state..s. The more spiri..tuall..y aware.. we are, the more harmo..nious.. and fulfi..lling.. our lives...
I am not sugge..sting.. we measu..re spiri..tual growt..h by mater..ial stand..ards;.. only that when we are spiri..tuall..y aware.. we shoul..d spont..aneou..sly demon..strat..e soul-..empow..ered alive..ness and enhan..ced funct..ional.. abili..ties... We shoul..d have fewer.. delus..ions (..fixed.., erron..eous belie..fs) and illus..ions (..mispe..rcept..ions).., and be able to funct..ion more skill..fully... It canno..t be truth..fully.. said of us that we are spiri..tuall..y awake.. if we conti..nue to exhib..it chara..cteri..stics.. commo..n to cloud..ed state..s of aware..ness,.. defic..ienci..es in intel..lectu..al skill..s, addic..tive perso..nalit..y disor..ders,.. almos..t const..ant frust..ratio..n of desir..es, and other.. fears.. and limit..ation..s. There.. is no such thing.. as lack in the world... Every..thing.. is as it shoul..d be in the wow and now of this very exist..ence... Every..thing.. is perfe..ct, whole.., compl..ete, and Divin..e in this momen..t, and it could.. not possi..bly be any other.. way. We may “love.. God” and feel ourse..lves to be commi..tted to spiri..tual growt..h—and.. (..perha..ps) presu..me ourse..lves to be quite.. Holy—..i.e. a good Chris..tian,.. or Musli..m, or Hindu.., or any of the other.. ism’s.., but if resul..ts are not unfol..ding in const..ructi..ve, peace..ful, every..day circu..mstan..ces, we shoul..d do well to admit.. that we have probl..ems that need to be solve..d and we will not reall..y be fulfi..lled until.. they are.
If you are prima..rily inter..ested.. in exper..ienci..ng the life-..enhan..cemen..t benef..its of medit..ation.., proce..ed with dedic..ated inten..tion;.. spiri..tual growt..h will follo..w. If you are more focus..ed on spiri..tual growt..h, accep..t the side-..benef..its as they unfol..d. Doing.. so can only make life bette..r and more enjoy..able.
If you have a relig..ious affil..iatio..n and it is satis..fying.. to you, you need not chang..e it in order.. to pract..ice medit..ation... Medit..ation.. will enabl..e you to be more soul-..cente..red, and God-..consc..ious... With progr..essiv..e spiri..tual growt..h, your under..stand..ing of your relat..ionsh..ip with the Infin..ite will impro..ve. You will be more insig..htful..: more intel..lectu..ally and intui..tivel..y capab..le of disce..rning.. the diffe..rence.. betwe..en truth.. and untru..th.
Our daily.. spiri..tual pract..ice routi..ne, as helpf..ul as it is, repre..sents.. onlt a porti..on of the time we have to live our lives.. well... How we live every.. wakin..g momen..t is just as impor..tant as the time and atten..tion we give to our inter..ludes.. of spiri..tual subje..ctive.. conte..mplat..ion. It is in the arena.. of every..day circu..mstan..ces and relat..ionsh..ips that we are provi..ded ample.. oppor..tunit..y to demon..strat..e what we know and prove.. to ourse..lves the depth.. and clari..ty of our under..stand..ing. If we are not livin..g well—..that is, freel..y and produ..ctive..ly—we.. are not growi..ng spiri..tuall..y. How we exper..ience.. life is in direc..t relat..ionsh..ip to our inner.. condi..tion:.. to our psych..ologi..cal healt..h and matur..ity and our under..stand..ing of the purpo..se for livin..g, and what we are willi..ng to do to live our lives.. succe..ssful..ly.
There..fore,.. we shoul..d not becom..e addic..ted to ou spiri..tual pract..ice routi..nes or be incli..ned to indul..ge ourse..lves in inner.. work to the exten..t that we deny ourse..lves the privi..lege (and duty,.. even).. of parti..cipat..ing in meani..ngful.. activ..ities.. and relat..ionsh..ips. Sched..uled sessi..ons of subje..ctive.. conte..mplat..ion shoul..d be balan..ced with worth..while.. invol..vemen..ts in the outer.. realm.. of exist..ence.........live life... In this way do we fulfi..ll ourse..lves and our purpo..se for being.. here,.. for life itsel..f. Have fun.

This very moment IS the perfect Teacher... We can meet our match with a poodle or with a raging guard dog, but the interesting question is--what happens next. Generally speaking, we regard discomfort in any form as bad news. But from practitioners or spiritual warriors--people who have a certain hunger to know what is true--feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear, instead of being bad news, are actually very clear moments that teach us where it is that we're holding back. They teach us to "perk up" and "lean in" when we feel we'd rather collapse and back away. They're like messengers that show us, with terrifying clarity, exactly where we're stuck. This very moment is the perfect teacher, and, lucky for us, it's with us wherever we are. Those events and people in our lives who trigger our unresolved issues could be regarded as good news. We don't have to go hunting for anything. We don't need to try to create situations in which we reach our limit. They occur all by themselves, with clockwork regularity. Each day, we're given many opportunities to open up or shut down. The most precious opportunity presents itself when we come to the place where we think we can't handle whatever is happening. It's too much. It's gone too far. We feel bad about ourselves. There's no way we can manipulate the situation to make ourselves come out looking good. No matter how hard we try, it just won't work. Basically, life has just nailed us. It's as if you just looked at yourself in the mirror, and you saw a gorilla. The mirror's there; it's showing you, and what you see looks bad. That being nailed by life, the place where you have no choice except to embrace what's happening or push it away. Most of us do not take these situations as teachings. We feel we have to soften it, pad it with something, and we become addicted to whatever it is that seems to ease the pain. In fact, the rampant materialism that we see in the world stems from this moment. There are many ways that we have dreamt up to entertain us away from the moment, soften its hard edge, deaden it so we don't have to feel the full impact of the pain that arises when we cannot manipulate the situation to make us come out looking fine. Meditation is an invitation to notice when we reach our limit and to not get carried away by hope and fear. Through meditation, we're able to see clearly what's going on with our thoughts and emotions, and we can also let them go. What's encouraging about meditation is that even if we shut down, we can no longer shut down in ignorance. We're able to see how we run and hide and keep ourselves busy so that we never have to let our hearts be penetrated. And we're also able to see how we could open and relax. *.::{{~*~}}::.* The Ultimate Truth....I am THAT, Thou are THAT, all this is THAT. And That is all there is! We must stop seeing THAT as separate from ourselves, and you as separate from each other. The only solution is the Ultimate Truth: nothing exists in the universe that is isolated, separate from anything else. Everything is intrinsically connected, irrevocably interdependent, interactive, interwoven into the fabric of all of life. There are many tendencies and beliefs stored in our subconscious our individual tendencies and beliefs as well as the Totality; all of which are presently unknown to us. Yet there is a thrust from within our psychological complex that drives us to act because of them. This emerges as a blind belief, an emotional outburst or sometimes even a fanatic outrage. At other times it is simply a determination to do or not do. Somewhere from within us a force or voice is creating these tendencies. Very few of us want to know what these tendencies are, to culture this knowledge of ourselves. The majority are simply victims or slaves of their tendencies, not knowing or reflecting why and where they come from or what purpose they serve. The Sanskrit word for them is uppadhi the pre-recorded impressions or modifications of the mind, as explained in Raja Yoga. Unless we understand these tendencies, probe into them, analyze, auto-reflect and so on, we do so many things ignorantly or unconsciously. The main purpose of Raja Yoga is how to culture the raw material of the human mind, how to bring out its hidden tendencies, how to purify and free the subconscious mind. In order to know the Ultimate God, Light, Bliss we have to know all the compartments of our own mind. True knowledge is in the Superconsciousness. Unless we know our conscious and subconscious mind we cannot really fly or reach the joy of abandonment Superconsciousness. We see dreams within dreams and think we are awake. The mind's projection is like the ocean; it is not limitless but because we do not see the other shore it seems that way. It encompasses everything from A to Z. And for the time being I am including meditation in this play as well, although that is the last door you will go through in order to come out of the mind. Otherwise any analysis, projection, path, belief, or ism is within the mind. Therefore we do not harp much upon differences of paths and beliefs because we are talking mind within mind, blindly groping in the dark. We are touching the same elephant. I may be touching the tail, and you may be touching the ear or stomach, but if we start fighting or analyzing or discussing or comparing one part with another, we never realize that it is the same animal. We are touching with the same mind, distinguishing and deliberating. There are few souls on this earth who stand back and are the observer, the object of observation, and observed all at the same time, or who stand apart and watch this hypnotism. We call them wise men. All our conferences and seminars are within the same dreams. In the dreamland we meet each other and go on discussing our present happenings. And by morning everyone is back in the bottle. Very few are awakened. The Awakened Ones travel into our dreamland and tell you, You are joined by a silver cord with your bottle and you are talking in your dreams but you are not aware. Since you are not aware, since you are one with your self-hypnotism, naturally you think this guy is crazy. There is a line: In this mad world only the mad are sane. Sleeping souls think Awakened Ones are crazy or if not crazy, at least beyond our limits. To them the Enlightened One looks impractical so we do not do what he does, as if it does not apply to us. But you cannot say that you believe in an Enlightened Being and then do whatever you want. You are canceling the whole thing. There are certain qualities of the Perfected Ones that are universal. You keep dreaming, though hoping, but hoping is a part of the mind. Hoping is not a spiritual quality faith is. Hoping has doubt ingrained in it. Therefore belief, when it matures, becomes faith. Belief has its own limits; it cannot lead you to the Goal. If the belief is wrong, at some point it will shatter. That will make you rethink and move forward. Every coin has two sides, and so has belief. Where it is genuine, it fulfills you. Sometimes your belief shatters because ego does not get what it wants. That is self-delusion, an ego-trip. But genuine belief leads you to a certain juncture where you can pick up the thread further to faith and faith to Realization, to Enlightenment. written by my beautiful new myspace friend: SriDavid, url: www.myspace.com/sridavid

People are drawn to vegetarianism by all sorts of motives. Some of us want to live longer, healthier lives or do our part to reduce pollution. Others have made the switch because we want to preserve Earth's natural resources or because we've always loved animals and are ethically opposed to eating them.
-
-
Thanks to an abundance of scientific research that demonstrates the health and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, even the federal government recommends that we consume most of our calories from grain products, vegetables and fruits. And no wonder: An estimated 70 percent of all diseases, including one-third of all cancers, are related to diet. A vegetarian diet reduces the risk for chronic degenerative diseases such as obesity, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and certain types of cancer including colon, breast, prostate, stomach, lung and esophageal cancer.

Why go veg? Chew on these reasons:
-
-
1. You'll ward off disease. Vegetarian diets are more healthful than the average American diet, particularly in preventing, treating or reversing heart disease and reducing the risk of cancer. A low-fat vegetarian diet is the single most effective way to stop the progression of coronary artery disease or prevent it entirely. Cardiovascular disease kills 1 million Americans annually and is the leading cause of death in the United States. But the mortality rate for cardiovascular disease is lower in vegetarians than in nonvegetarians, says Joel Fuhrman, MD, author of Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss. A vegetarian diet is inherently healthful because vegetarians consume no animal fat and less cholesterol and instead consume more fiber and more antioxidant-rich produce -- another great reason to listen to Mom and eat your veggies!
-
-
2. You'll keep your weight down. The standard American diet -- high in saturated fats and processed foods and low in plant-based foods and complex carbohydrates -- is making us fat and killing us slowly. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and a division of the CDC, the National Center for Health Statistics, 64 percent of adults and 15 percent of children aged 6 to 19 are overweight and are at risk of weight-related ailments including heart disease, stroke and diabetes. A study conducted from 1986 to 1992 by Dean Ornish, MD, president and director of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, California, found that overweight people who followed a low-fat, vegetarian diet lost an average of 24 pounds in the first year and kept off that weight 5 years later. They lost the weight without counting calories or carbs and without measuring portions or feeling hungry.
-
-
3. You'll live longer. If you switch from the standard American diet to a vegetarian diet, you can add about 13 healthy years to your life, says Michael F. Roizen, MD, author of The RealAge Diet: Make Yourself Younger with What You Eat. "People who consume saturated, four-legged fat have a shorter life span and more disability at the end of their lives. Animal products clog your arteries, zap your energy and slow down your immune system. Meat eaters also experience accelerated cognitive and sexual dysfunction at a younger age."
-
-
Want more proof of longevity? Residents of Okinawa, Japan, have the longest life expectancy of any Japanese and likely the longest life expectancy of anyone in the world, according to a 30-year study of more than 600 Okinawan centenarians. Their secret: a low-calorie diet of unrefined complex carbohydrates, fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, and soy.
-
-
4. You'll build strong bones. When there isn't enough calcium in the bloodstream, our bodies will leach it from existing bone. The metabolic result is that our skeletons will become porous and lose strength over time. Most health care practitioners recommend that we increase our intake of calcium the way nature intended -- through foods. Foods also supply other nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D that are necessary for the body to absorb and use calcium.
-
People who are mildly lactose-intolerant can often enjoy small amounts of dairy products such as yogurt, cheese and lactose-free milk. But if you avoid dairy altogether, you can still get a healthful dose of calcium from dry beans, tofu, soymilk and dark green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, collards and turnip greens.
-
-
5. You'll reduce your risk of food-borne illnesses. The CDC reports that food-borne illnesses of all kinds account for 76 million illnesses a year, resulting in 325,000 hospitalizations and 5,000 deaths in the United States. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), foods rich in protein such as meat, poultry, fish and seafood are frequently involved in food-borne illness outbreaks.
-
-
6. You'll ease the symptoms of menopause. Many foods contain nutrients beneficial to perimenopausal and menopausal women. Certain foods are rich in phytoestrogens, the plant-based chemical compounds that mimic the behavior of estrogen. Since phytoestrogens can increase and decrease estrogen and progesterone levels, maintaining a balance of them in your diet helps ensure a more comfortable passage through menopause. Soy is by far the most abundant natural source of phytoestrogens, but these compounds also can be found in hundreds of other foods such as apples, beets, cherries, dates, garlic, olives, plums, raspberries, squash and yams. Because menopause is also associated with weight gain and a slowed metabolism, a low-fat, high-fiber vegetarian diet can help ward off extra pounds.
-
-
7. You'll have more energy. Good nutrition generates more usable energy -- energy to keep pace with the kids, tackle that home improvement project or have better sex more often, Michael F. Roizen, MD, says in The RealAge Diet. Too much fat in your bloodstream means that arteries won't open properly and that your muscles won't get enough oxygen. The result? You feel zapped. Balanced vegetarian diets are naturally free of cholesterol-laden, artery-clogging animal products that physically slow us down and keep us hitting the snooze button morning after morning. And because whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables are so high in complex carbohydrates, they supply the body with plenty of energizing fuel.
-
-
8. You'll be more "regular." Eating a lot of vegetables necessarily means consuming more fiber, which pushes waste out of the body. Meat contains no fiber. People who eat lower on the food chain tend to have fewer instances of constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticulitis.
-
-
9. You'll help reduce pollution. Some people become vegetarians after realizing the devastation that the meat industry is having on the environment. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), chemical and animal waste runoff from factory farms is responsible for more than 173,000 miles of polluted rivers and streams. Runoff from farmlands is one of the greatest threats to water quality today. Agricultural activities that cause pollution include confined animal facilities, plowing, pesticide spraying, irrigation, fertilizing and harvesting.
-
-
10. You'll avoid toxic chemicals. The EPA estimates that nearly 95 percent of the pesticide residue in the typical American diet comes from meat, fish and dairy products. Fish, in particular, contain carcinogens (PCBs, DDT) and heavy metals (mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium) that can't be removed through cooking or freezing. Meat and dairy products can also be laced with steroids and hormones, so be sure to read the labels on the dairy products you purchase.
-
-
11. You'll help reduce famine. About 70 percent of all grain produced in the United States is fed to animals raised for slaughter. The 7 billion livestock animals in the United States consume five times as much grain as is consumed directly by the American population. "If all the grain currently fed to livestock were consumed directly by people, the number of people who could be fed would be nearly 800 million," says David Pimentel, professor of ecology at Cornell University. If the grain were exported, it would boost the US trade balance by $80 billion a year.
-
-
12. You'll spare animals. Many vegetarians give up meat because of their concern for animals. Ten billion animals are slaughtered for human consumption each year. And, unlike the farms of yesteryear where animals roamed freely, today most animals are factory farmed -- crammed into cages where they can barely move and fed a diet tainted with pesticides and antibiotics. These animals spend their entire lives in crates or stalls so small that they can't even turn around. Farmed animals are not protected from cruelty under the law -- in fact, the majority of state anticruelty laws specifically exempt farm animals from basic humane protection.
-
-
13. You'll save money. Meat accounts for 10 percent of Americans' food spending. Eating vegetables, grains and fruits in place of the 200 pounds of beef, chicken and fish each nonvegetarian eats annually would cut individual food bills by an average of $4,000 a year.
-
-
14. Your dinner plate will be full of color. Disease-fighting phytochemicals give fruits and vegetables their rich, varied hues. They come in two main classes: carotenoids and anthocyanins. All rich yellow and orange fruits and vegetables -- carrots, oranges, sweet potatoes, mangoes, pumpkins, corn -- °©owe their color to carotenoids. Leafy green vegetables also are rich in carotenoids but get their green color from chlorophyll. Red, blue and purple fruits and vegetables -- plums, cherries, red bell peppers -- contain anthocyanins. Cooking by color is a good way to ensure you're eating a variety of naturally occurring substances that boost immunity and prevent a range of illnesses.
-
-
15. It's a breeze. It's almost effortless these days to find great-tasting and good-for-you vegetarian foods, whether you're strolling the aisles of your local supermarket or walking down the street at lunchtime. If you need inspiration in the kitchen, look no further than the Internet, your favorite bookseller or your local vegetarian society's newsletter for culinary tips and great recipes. And if you're eating out, almost any ethnic restaurant will offer vegetarian selections. In a hurry? Most fast food and fast casual restaurants now include healthful and inventive salads, sandwiches and entrées on their menus.

Though we seem to be sleeping, there is an inner wakefullness that directs the dream, and that will eventually startle us back to the truth of who we are.
much of what you may read here i find from the myspace site of my guruji PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA
Peace.
Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our LIGHT—not our darkness—that frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who are we to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented, and fabulous?" Actually, who are we not to be???
Our playing small does not serve the world… There is nothing enlightened about shrinking to make other people feel less insecure around us.
We were born to make manifest the glory of the Divine within us; a divinity of infinite light and creativity that resides in everyone and every living thing! As we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give others permission to shine, too. As we become liberated from our fears, the mere presence of our liberated selves automatically liberates those around us!
We all seek a world in which people are freed from the burdens of ignorance, poverty, hunger, and disease. We search desperately through the pages of history for solutions, but there are none. Now is the time to be still, and look deep within ourselves to the depths of our souls...
We must become that which surpasses the aspirations of our elders; for which our education, experience, family, and environment have ill-prepared us. WE MUST BECOME BIGGER THAN WE HAVE EVER BEEN; MORE COURAGEOUS; GREATER IN SPIRIT; LARGER IN OUTLOOK! WE MUST BECOME MEMBERS OF A NEW RACE (homo-luminous) and overcome petty prejudice—owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations, but to each other as fellow brothers and sisters within the human community.
LOVE.
~~"joy and sorrow"~~
Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives? When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater." But I say unto you, they are inseparable. Together they come, and when one sits, alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.
Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy. Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced. When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.
--Kahlil Gibran
~~".. of gratitude"~~
"You as a human, with a body, carry within yourself a reflection of the stars, moon, and sun. You carry an aspect, a reflection, an interface with the galaxy. Remember, this is a game of evolution, a game of consciousness, a game that allows all energetic signatures to be experienced. You as human are like the most sophisticated, refined, highly developed consciousness that could be designed. You are information gatherers: sensing, feeling, and ever expanding from Divine Mind.
During these times of great change on your planet, there is a rapid-moving, strong-current river of energy. The best and most conscious manner to deal with this incredible energy...is to bravely trust the flow and allow yourself to embrace the movement and changes that are taking place. Surrender into trust, drop into a place within your being that offers you flexibility for all that is transpiring. Practice radiating joy, gratitude and appreciation into all your experiences".
