We're pretty excited about the coming year. 2007 was definitely suprising for us, with NightWaves just being an idea as recently as June. In 6 months we've come a long way. We played our first live shows, booked our first show out of state, got mentioned on numerous best of 2008 lists, and even had a song on BuffetLibres rewind 2!

As for 2009, we have a bunch of new songs in the tank that we're just waiting to unleash. There is a record in the works, as well as a single to be released in the coming months. We've got some new sounds in the oven getting warm. Hopefully they'll melt your face and sooth the soul. We'll be going down to SXSW in March, Vegas in February, and are working on many shows in LA as well. Exciting times!

Thanks for all the support we've gotten in the past months. We appreciate every comment and message, and every friend (ones we know and ones we havent met yet!) who've come to any of our shows. We promise, there will be many more to come in '09!

Nice writeup on NightWaves and She's Electric. Check it out!

Bringing a little less Banger and a lot more synth work, introducing Nightwaves. They are a part of an LA-based group of DJs getting back to ze basics and coining another genre of electronic music called "dreamwave". Take a listen and you'll easily get it. I'd say it's probably the most un-ridiculous new genre I've heard of recently. The group says they want to bring some "romance back to the City of Angels". It's working.

Point your attention to NightWaves, part of the LA collective that is calling themselves Binary. They're promising to bring "the romance back to LA. A little bit less banger, a bit more 80's, and a lot of great synth work." Sounds good to me. There is a Valerie-ish aspect to their music that they're interestingly calling "Dreamwave." Dreamwave is the best nu-fake genre name I've heard in quite a while.
