We had a blast in Wickenburg this last weekend.

Competition was stiff but there weren't nearly as many competitors as we thought there would be in each of the divisions.

The band competition had 11 entries this year. LO did well and came in 3rd.

The mandolin championship was really good with about 7 great pickers. Our own Chris Cerna placed 4th.

The banjo championship was not as tough as some of the others but the 1st place guy was fantastic. Steve was able to wrap up 2nd place.

All in all it was a great time and we all came home with a little $.

Well, we were lucky to catch an open slot and the Logandale, NV bluegrass festival coming up in October. We are going to play a full set Sunday, October 12th @ noon.

Al Bess and the good people @ SNBMS put on a great festival. If you get a chance to go, you'll have a great time. Hope to see you there!

Well we're just getting started here as a band and we sure appreciate everyone's support. We've all been individually involved in previous bands and have been playing together for about a year now. We'll be working on a short demo CD coming up here soon so check back for updates.

The songs listed were recorded using a small, hand held digital recorder so we'll be replacing those with some more professional samples as soon as we can.

As you can see, we only have a few friends so we're still pretty lonesome but hey, if we weren't lonesome, we wouldn't be Lonesome Otis right?
