Seeking two Secular Holiday Songs
New Rules/Open Submissions for 2007

Rules

1. The submitted song must relate to at least one December holiday, but it must not make any overt reference to a deity or religious ritual (unless it is in the nature of satire or parody).
2. Only one song per submitter.
3. The submission deadline is noon on 15 DEC 2007 (Pacific Time, USA).
4. Humorous and cute songs are welcome, but vulgar songs are not.
5. All genres are welcome; that is, rock, folk, pop, soul, R&B, country, Hip hop, etc.
6. All themes are welcome; that is, family centric, peace on earth, remembrance, etc.
7. Submitters who violate any Rules or Submission Procedures will be disqualified.

Submission Procedures

1. Only one song per submitter.
2. The deadline for submission is noon on 15 DEC 2007 (Pacific Time, USA).
3. Email your submission information with
   ``2007 Winter Song Submission''
   in the subject line.
4. Email your submission information to tim@timnull.com.
5. Your email should contain the following information:
   Your name/band name
   phone number
   website with photos
   Song name
   Composer name(s)
   Web address where the song can be heard
   (mp3 or stream;
   song clips=disqualification)

In December of 2005 I selected the following winter holiday songs:

• Sarah Silverman, ``Give This Jew Girl Toys" [explicit]
• Steve Goodman, ``Winter Wonderland" (live)

In December of 2006 I selected:

• ``Sugarplum Dreams'' by Namoli Brennet.
• ``Starry Starry Night'' by Bev Barnett and Greg Newlon.

I look forward to listening to this year's submissions.

in a Befuddled Holiday write up.

Yes, Chewy was born — I mean hatched — on February 23 back in 1998. So about this time every year Chewy parties like it was 1998!
Chewy's full name is Chewbacca. Mrs. Muddle came up with Chewy's name, because Chewy chews on everything in sight.
Chewy is a male Senegal parrot.
Chewy is nine years old today. (I don't know how many years that computes out to be in dog years.)
Barring some misfortune, Chewy could live into his thirties.
