Bang we are on . The first live instigate debate is happening on wednesdy the 25th March at the Boogaloo, Archway North London.

The idea being that no one discusses anything that really means anything in this country anymore so we are forcing the issue. The first night is "your country needs you to go shopping". The guests are mindblowing and the best questions get a gig on the night from me Carl Barat, Drew McConnel and anyone else we can rope in.

Its going to be filmed for channel four and the night will feature live music, poetry lots of debating and people getting het up whilst me Donne, Barat and McConell try to calm them down. It;ll be amazing and there is free video flip cameras and all that too. Theres not many tickets as the boogaloo is tiny but u can get them from ticketweb.

A wicked, wicked record. Concentration of some of the absolute best young creative hip hop talent in Britain, supported by old duffers like Drew, Andy and Jon. An electrifying statement on our world.

All for free just buy the Independent Newspaper Saturday 7th March  x

I think its important i say something with regard to the article in the
newspaper on sunday and my comments regarding the New Musical Express.

Let me make clear so there is no confusion. What i am not saying is
that the NME is racist or anyone who works for the NME is a racist.
More what i am asking, as a reader myself is should the NME be covering
a wider range of musical genres?

I hope this clears up any confusion

The government has allowed 21 boroughs in london under the command of the met to use a form called the 696 which licensees must fill out if they are to put on live music. it demands promoters state the performers names address and telephone numbers two weeks in advance as well as the type of music. their examples of course being grime dubstep etc.
in addition the 'projected ethnicity' of the audience must be stated, in short a load of white supremesists, known for being institutionally racists get to decide whether black kids can have hip hop gigs etc. its absolute bullshit. sign our petition and fuck the 696.

The 696 Form compels licensees who wish to hold live music events in 21 London Boroughs to report to the police the names, addresses, aliases and telephone numbers of performers, and most worryingly, the likely ethnicity of their audience. Failure to comply could result in fines or imprisonment. We believe this places unnecessary and frankly Orwellian powers in the hands of the Metropolitan Police, an institution which does not have the best record of racial fairness. The 696 form can only serve to deter the staging of live musical events - a positive form of activity in London and all cities - stifle free expression and quite possible penalise certain genres of music and ethnic audiences. It is an intrusion too far.

If you agree, please sign the petition to scrap the 696:
