Hey friends!

This is Heather with an update from Adrian and the Sickness.  Things are going great.  As you may know, we released a new CD last month, called BFD, produced by Kathy Valentine.  We've been working on it for over two years.  The reason it has taken so long, is that we had fit in studio time between Adrian and Melodie's Hell's Belles schedule and Kathy's Gogo's schedule (yes, they are still together and still play shows all over the world), and other projects and seemingly constant conflicts.  But, finally, we are done and it is out!

Our CD release party was a success!  THANK GOD!  We planned a special event at Momo's with Kathy Valentine, the Cola Sisters, Nobody Dance, Follow that Bird and Schmillion, a kid band from Girls Rock Camp where we volunteer every summer.  Momo's was packed!  We also joined up with the Central Texas Food Bank and collected 120 lbs of donated food from our fans.  That all went down on Nov 7, 2009.  PHEW!  So far, so good!  Since then, our self-produced video for "Listening" is on high rotation on ME TV(Austin, San Marcos), we played on Good Day Austin, a local Fox morning show, and we have sold just over 200 copies of BFD.

In January, we will do the big push... VIDEO, RADIO, INTERNET.  Thankfully, we have someone who really believes in us, who is investing in our business, enabling us to promote our album on a national level.  No, we are not on a record label.  We are acting as our own record label, Fantom Records, and are attempting to tackle this business as independents.  We will be starting a video campaign, with our self-produced video for "Listening".  It will go out to about 100 different video outlets all over the US, including MTV and VH1 and all the bigs.  Fingers crossed!  We will be mailing out 500 copies of our CD, as part of an 8 week radio campaign, to college radio and AAA format radio stations, nationwide.  We will have a new interactive website where our album will be available for digital download with special video extras, www.adrianandthesickness.com.  Also, coming in January - the second issue of our magazine, "Turn it Up!" including a celebrity interview with Johnette Napolitano.

In Spring 2010 - US TOUR!!!!!!  We'll be playing YOUR town, hanging out at YOUR local record store, playing on YOUR local radio stations, hell, maybe even playing YOUR living room... HA!

Want to help?  Tell your friends about us.  Come out to the shows.  Buy the music.  Spread the Sickness!  It's a very difficult business, so if you like the music, you CAN help it survive.  Thank you so much for supporting us.

And stay in contact!  Send us your email address for monthly updates!

:)
XOXOXO

Hi - I wanted to talk about our new album, BFD. We have been working on for 2 and a half years. We have some amazing talent contributing to this album. Number 1..I'm sure we've run up and down the halls of the world blabbing Kathy Valentine non stop. That's because she is a very talented producer/songwriter and is co-writing with me. And the material is transformational!
I'm so happy I've been given the opportunity to "grow up" as a songwriter. In case you live under a rock or are a new fan to us.. she is the bass player from the Go-Go's and has written a few hits of her own.
We recently posted Modern Freedom. Which is one of a few songs that were mixed by Frenchie Smith at the Bubble here in ATX. Frenchie's been the talk of town these last few years in terms of engineers as he recently scored a grammy . Google him and you'll see all the projects he's been involved with. I think his latest work has been Jet.
CJ Eiriksson is also another fabulous engineer that mixed Radar Love, Listening and Common Ground until Blue October hired him and then U2. He's been unavailable ever since. Rounding out the album, a few tracks will be mixed by Lenny Kravitz engineer, t-bone burnett.
I've got the wonderful Nina Singh playing drums on Radar Love and Listening. And even drummer Clem Burke of Blondie on Common Ground.
Patrice Pike is also singing with me on a great track called "Talk to Me".
And of course last but not least the current members of the sickness,  pounding drummer, Melodie Zapata (who also plays with me in Hell's Belles). And the beautiful, creative, mastermind of the video blogs, Heather Webb on bass, my band mate since the beginning.
I have learned so much about songwriting. This opportunity has been one I will cherish forever. For me, writing great songs and coming out with an album that is great start to finish(like they did in the 70's), has been my goal since I decided I wanted to be sucessful with music.  I am so proud of this new music and I stand behind this album 100%. The new album is called BFD.

PS. To the download pirates out there... Support the music you love and pay for it.  Do we come to your work and ask you for free shit?
