That's right. I was the Best Supporting Actor at the B-Movie Film Fest. Eat it, Guy Who Played Dollman and Guy Who Played Matlock's Assistant and other people who were nominated who I don't know who they are!

So it looks like I'm nominated for an award.
The independent film I was in, "The Little Documentary That Couldn't," has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Writing, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor at the B Movie Festival in New York. I'm in the supporting category with a great group of actors including veteran film and tv actors Tim Thomerson ("Dollman," "Volunteers," "The Wrong Guys") and Daniel Roebuck ("Matlock," played Jay Leno in "The Late Shift," the Science Teacher who blew up on "Lost").
Go figure.

Just got cast in not one, but two cool things!
First off, I'm going to be doing the Cricket Feet Actor's Showcase in November. Very cool. We went to the first one the did earlier this year and it was amazing. Pack houses, lots of industry, tasty foodstuffs. Superstar casting director Bonnie Gillespie is one of the producers . . . so you know it's going to be good! Check out www.cricketfeet.com for more info about Bonnie and links to the showcase.
Second, while cruising the geeky websites I enjoy so much I noticed a casting notice for an online Star Trek audio series called "Star Trek: Continuing Mission." Etta and I submitted an MP3 to the producers and now we're members of the crew! They've put a lot of work into their website and the series is going to be a lot of fun for us. Check them out at www.continuingmission.com.
Also, we're competing at the 2nd Annual International Sketch Comedy Competition tomorrow night at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood and starting a new session of classical theater training with the Antaeus Theater Company.
Also, I like cheese (blogs are supposed to revelatory and extremely personal, right?).

My profile says I'm female and myspace won't let me change it. Just goes to show people really don't get to choose their gender identity.

That's right, Bay Area Peeps! We're back by popular demand (by which we mean someone asked us if we'd do the show and we were going to be in town for a wedding anyway so we said yes) for the "Sketchy at Best" Sketch Comedy Festival. We'll be doing 20 minutes along with three other groups on Saturday, August 26. I don't know the time and ticket price but I imagine it's 8PM and we'll be worth whatever they charge. If you come we'll let you buy us drinks afterward! Check out www.darkroomsf.com or call 415.401.7987 for more details.

If you have netflix and you want to see a young Gabe make a cameo as "The Stoner" in an independant comedy feature but "It Burns When I Laugh" at the top of your queue. The director/writer is a great stand-up and a super-nice guy. Also, you can add "Stuck" to the queue as well. It's another independant feature I did back in the day that's available. I basically play the Bill Pullman nice guy who tempts one of the leads away from the love of her life who's been cheating on her (what?). Also, I'm slightly sleezy in it and do a shakespeare monologue rather poorly because I memorized it a few minutes before I had to do it.
